I have my MPC X SE connected to my Roland Fantom EX 8. My goal is to play all my Roland sounds while combining the sounds from my MPC and saving the entire project on my MPC. I have my TRS quarter inch cables coming out the Roland going into the inputs of my MPC. I’m also connecting the MPC & Roland via USB. My issue is my MPC is not displaying the Fantom EX 8 in the “Input ports & output ports” of the midi section. I decided to order the midi din cables because maybe this was the missing component . Do you have any other tips on where I am going wrong?

I had this same issue. You have to go into the mpc preferences go into midi/sync then tap the reset on the input and output ports the reset looks like a circle ⭕️ arrow moving to the left. This should fix that. Hopefully it works. But the Fantom I had was the first model the 6 yours is updated so that maybe an issue if this doesn’t work.

@@GGVMusic Make sure you pick midi the 5th option it looks like a midi end then on the midi port scroll past Midi ABCD and Remote until you see the Fantom

@@GGVMusic I remember having a similar issue but I fixed it. Unfortunately I’ve gotten rid of both units so I wouldn’t be able to walk you through step by step however I still own a mpc live and that’s how I hook up all my synths. I use midi through usb connected to my Mio xl

I had this problem also I fixed by changing something in the Fantoms MIDI settings. I don’t remember exactly what it was though

Put up a link to the original video you learnt this from or make yours more extensive.

The person I learned it from just mentioned it on his video when he was introducing the latest Roland synth Jupiter (Bolo The Producer) and I figured out the rest. He never went into depth. We messaged back and forth and he assured me what I was looking for was in the menus and I found it. If you want a step by step I can email you a short clip but first let me know what you’re having problems understanding or what are you trying to do? You can contact me jowhartraxx@gmail.com
