how about this, it is simply the fact that their children will be born with a silver spoon, with heavy expectations that either make or break them, while the rest of us give birth to people who are sent to wars to die, become workers for companies that only hire them in a contract that puts them in a disadvantage, money givers for the government all the while growing up in less fortunate circumstances and quite frequenly inadequate parents with very little chance in life to succeed in life and even if they do they sacrifice a lot for it,very often their morality, not to mention bringing a child to a world of suffering because our primal instinct demands it , sure, perhaps the elite have a reason we do not know of ,but does their secrets matter?
I have no kids and had a vasectomy because I can't think of anything more disgusting than creating a new human being to inherit all the pain, suffering, and responsibilities that life offers, the good that life has to offer is a little clever trap evolution created to keep you addicted to existence
I hate that I understand this so much. Just kept being told "Fake it until you make it", always thought maybe a light would come on and this insane, painful world would make sense, and kids would seem like a good idea. "Make it" has never come, and at my age probably never will.
To be honest the problem now is that too many kids are being born to bad situations and when they grow up it happens again with them when they get older and the cycle repeats
Actually there is a posibility that we have too little people, bc of how expensive it is to live people stop having children, and oo little people is even worser than too many
One thing not mentioned is the absolute boom in puppy/kitten sales. If People can't have babies then they'll result in an overabundance of "fur babies" as they call it.
Are you sure this is supposed to be hypothetical? It sure sounds a lot like reality right now. It sounds like the whole western world. We are having fewer kids (especially Japan) and people are protesting, rioting and looting more than ever. People who have kids tend to keep to themselves and move away from the city to a nicer suburban area. Also, most cities are consolidating or tearing down and closing more schools than they are building by far. I think we have all lived a life, as kids growing up, that was of such a high standard that we feel like we aren't in a position to have children. I know I didn't want to have kids unless I could give them something close to or better than what I had growing up. In the past every generation did a little better than the one before. You were supposed to build on what your parents laid down for you and give you kids a better life than you had. That just isn't happening anymore. The quality of life has dropped over the last 30 or 40 years but it's dropped drastically over the past 10 or 20 years. Now instead of living in a house, with a nice sized yard, we are living in an apartment that is hardly big enough for one person but it houses 3. The jobs are gone to overseas markets that are more cost effective and easier to exploit. Our grandparents were able to have one parent work, usually the father, and the mother stayed at home and took care of/taught the kids. They were able to do this and still live comfortably. Our parents were able to have one of them work a full-time job and the other (mother) would work a part-time one and then take care of the children the rest of the time. They too could do this and still live a good lifestyle. Nowadays, we are in a situation where, both parents have to work full-time and even have second jobs but it's still hard to makes ends meet. I think this is the main cause for the decline of population in all first world/western countries. Most people just don't realize that it is happening to the extent that it is because the world's elites and globalist politicians have decided to open our borders to any and everyone around the world no matter where they come from or why they come. It's all about being able to exploit cheap labor and creating a new tax base that will help pay for the insane debt our politicians have run up. The people coming are used to a lifestyle that is not nearly as nice as we are used to and therefore they don't feel that bringing a kid into this world is an issue at all. If you come from a 3rd world country, then living in an apartment in some US city and working for minimum wage isn't so bad. They have no trouble making babies in that environment. I can't forget to mention one other cause for our decline in baby making. I think a whole lot of people are spoiled rotten and don't want a kid getting in the way of their fun. They are selfish and think it's all about them. A kid would just be a drag for those kinds of folks. Still the current climate is the biggest deterrent in my opinion. I would feel wrong for bringing a kid into this awful world we have become. We all need to get back to our roots and traditions and stop allowing people in both elected and non elected positions, determine the path we all are taking. The rich globalists and political class are in it for themselves and view us all as less than them. They don't care about us and we need to take back the reigns so a new path can be forged in a direction that is more sustainable and better for the majority rather than the tiny minority.
But, if someone doesn’t want kids, they shouldn’t have them. No matter what their reason is. Don’t you think? Pressuring someone to have a child if they don’t want one is not a good scenario. There are still plenty of people who do want to have children.
The reason is simple: we can’t afford it. For the majority of people, the time when you could raise a family on a single income is long gone. I can’t take care of myself so why should I have children I can’t feed?
So, would those un-touched and undiscovered pockets of humanity be un touched by this? Cuz then maybe eventually humanity will climb back from the brink of extinction

This hypothetical scenario is one where the fertility rate drop to zero within a few years, which simply isn't realistic. Some studies estimate that the global population will begin to decline sometime in the 2060s. There's projected to still be massive growth in regions such as Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and North Africa. Other countries are going to have to deal with civil and economic strife from having a ton of old people and not that many young, working age people to support them. Certain regions, like East Asia, are especially prone. If you look at a country like China, they have an extremely unhealthy population pyramid.

The one's who do survive I hope there at that time will be a renascence of the importance of family over your career. Peace!
However, the need to produce a family slowly disappears, which, as animals, is a need to produce proper offsprings to carry onto the next generationn. So more people would go around looking for short term relationships, compared to the long term relationships needed to make a family. @Just Chill There is a lot of things people thought they would never attain. That said, the future of humanity isn't limited to simply AI for it's continuation of existense.
There would be an obvious decline in population when childbirths decrease. People nowadays, especially those in their 20s to 30s, prioritize their careers first and foremost. The income they earn may not even be enough to raise a whole family. I guess times have really changed these days. Seems like China, South Korea, and Japan are most affected by birth declines.
And that’s why they’re sad lumps of potatoes. I grew up in a one income household it’s possible.

Before when we were am agricultural species, having morenkids mean more labor on the farm.
Now with industrial machines doing most of the farming, humans have moved to the cities for work.
In the city, having kids becomes a burden and a liability. They don't provide anything and they cost lots of money. People tend for favor double income, no kids lifestyle.

how about this, it is simply the fact that their children will be born with a silver spoon, with heavy expectations that either make or break them, while the rest of us give birth to people who are sent to wars to die, become workers for companies that only hire them in a contract that puts them in a disadvantage, money givers for the government all the while growing up in less fortunate circumstances and quite frequenly inadequate parents with very little chance in life to succeed in life and even if they do they sacrifice a lot for it,very often their morality, not to mention bringing a child to a world of suffering because our primal instinct demands it , sure, perhaps the elite have a reason we do not know of ,but does their secrets matter?

They can’t afford to have children
"...it looks like the president aged 5 years in the last few days!" That was priceless! 🤣
The human race going extinct isn’t such a bad idea

This hypothetical scenario is one where the fertility rate drop to zero within a few years, which simply isn't realistic. Some studies estimate that the global population will begin to decline sometime in the 2060s. There's projected to still be massive growth in regions such as Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and North Africa.
Other countries are going to have to deal with civil and economic strife from having a ton of old people and not that many young, working age people to support them.
