It should be mentioned, if it is not obvious (which, hopefully it is), that Shinobi is an amazing game, it is this port of the game that is god awful. The SMS and arcade games are freaking awesome.
The Master System version is not really much different from the NES version. It has all the same issues of controls, weird animations, walking on water, lack of invincibility frames etc...

I played the living shit out of this game as a kid , good times , sort of sucks they skip the bonus levels but obviously speedrun runner makes it look easy , this thing was hard as a kid, i remember the sega version being fine

The SMS version was a challenge of mine as a kid. Never did flip that game.
