    I now realise you've been around for 10 years, but it's only recently I've been aware of your products and watching your vids since I saw you featured on Collin Furze's large workshop build and I'm really impressed with what you're doing. A simple but very affective product, I wish you all the luck and continued growth!

    logically, if you flip the foam on the teal side, THEN mark your outer perimeter you can see the lines better when using a black marker and cutting. and a carpenter's square makes cutting the straight sides much faster.

    Great quality job. My boss has a similar foam thing in his Milwakee cases. While I was watching I thought about puting plastic film on everything, a couple of wood pieces to level the machines and distance them a little from the case and then fill everithing with polyurethane foam. Not the same result but could do the job.

    Funny, I just bought a Milwaukee m18 High torque 1/2" impact kit. I also bought the protective rubber boot for it, from Milwaukee. I opened up the kit, and installed the boot. Put it back in the box, and it refused to close. I did the samething. Out comes the multi tool, and the fabrication commenced. It now fits in the factory case. Extra foam added.😂

I do find the L-BOXX system way smarter (more rigid, more flexible (handle on 2 sides), can stack perfectly and even be "tied" from other similar boxes etc.

    ABSOLUTELY GREAT VIDEO MATE!!!
    I REALLY wana do this eventually because as a beginner woodworker I have gradually purchased more tools bit by bit and so at the moment most are in large see-through plastic containers so it can become a bit of a mess when you have also have lots of little things like squares, corner clamps, small basic hand-held sander etc.
    Because I do not have a garage (just a crappy metal shed) I have to clean my Titan Miter Saw every time before I bring it back in the house. But am wondering would it be viable for me to build a wooden case for it just to keep things straight and tidy? At least until I can get a garage workspace. Would your foam go deep enough? I just measured the dimensions of the Miter Saw and it's about 300mm x 400mm x 450mm.
    Some may say this is pointless but I hate having it visible lieing around my room.
    BTW u got a new subber : ]

    Brilliant been wanting to do this for years now I can. There is though an easier way to map out the inside. Stick one sheet of paper in the middle and work around with a “ticking stick”. Wish somebody would sell reasonably priced plain empty plastic boxes with all their internal corners squared in a range of sized, which would be ideal for quickly/easily making neat tight fitting professional looking foam inserts for. All I ever seem to find are tool boxes etc with weirdly shaped internal dimensions & rounded corners (obviously easier to manufacture) which are a real pain, take ages to accurately fit foam & often end up looking a bit naff unless you spend a LOT of time cutting it in just right.

    • @ShadowFoam
      @ShadowFoam  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you can find rectangular boxes that by adding rectangular foam you could repurpose into toolboxes, but it's a case of getting creative with that definition!

    • @ShadowFoam
      @ShadowFoam  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We don't really have a video like that, as it is down to individual taste to decide which depth to use. As a general rule of thumb, you want a deep MakPac and insert for larger tools to accommodate the size of the tool. You might find you will need to use two inserts stacked on top of each other to get the desired height for a large tool

    I can’t find in your video the small knife you’ve used as general utility knives don’t cut so accurately.
    And the most important thing missing how do you get the cutout outer shape so accurate and the depth surface to be even. Foam doesn’t pull out so evenly ….that’s why I even bothered to look at this tutorial…anyone can just cutout a shape

      The small knife is our scalpel kit, which is available in our cutting kits on www.shadowfoam.com

    Aha... Great. I bought mine at a Chinese store with the foam already pre-cut and storaged all my stuff spending less time than watching the whole vid.

      Luckily for you that precut foam happened to have the exact spaces for your tools, if your collection ever increases or changes, then Shadow Foam will be the perfect solution for your case! 👍

    A great video, but it could be reduced by at least half of it’s current length and half of the rambling.

    Why is foam so expensive?

      It's all the bubbles, there's a worldwide bubble shortage which is driving the prices up

      Cutting your own foam inserts saves both time, space and hassle ensuring your tools are safe, secure and well organised at all times! Can't think of anything more genius than that!

      concordo cara, achamos que era autoexplicativo, mas dê uma olhada em alguns de nossos outros vídeos, eles abordam os processos de forma muito mais lenta e detalhada
