In the beginning, I only wanted Squeezeplay for my Japanese G1shelf, but when I saw the behind the scene pics of Cliffjumper I was like damm, I'm now 50% vested for this set. Then I got the set and was pleasantly surprised. I think this set has great value...and I love the colors on Cyberverse Tarn so the set became pure win for me. Great review as always!!!!
Didn’t get the original Tarn so this pickup was a must for me. The only one I didn’t want was Tarantulas but he’s just another soldier for BW Megatron now. The price for this box set was actually a value. It would’ve cost more if they were boxed individually.
In Cyberverse Tarn actually wasn't ever in the DJD. His origin is an alternate universe Megatron got the Matrix and the all spark which he used to create an army of the perfect Decepticon soldiers. But after this alternate Megatron was killed by Astrotrain the perfect Decepticon army fought each other for leadership. One named himself Tarn after getting his left arm cut off. He tricked the Autobots into helping him and then took control of the perfect Decepticon army. He was then killed by Soundwave at the end of the show.
@@braydenpage1808 Speaking of _Cyberverse_ Astrotrain, he really needs a new toy. Which begs the question: If Hasbro ever makes a Cyberverse Universe Astrotrain, how are they going to squeak the train mode into the toy if we never saw it in the show?
I recently picked up this 4 pack at my local Target, and I love it. My ranking of this set is as follows: My least favorite is Tarantulas, as much as I love the homage to the prototype of his original toy, and I love the original Legacy figure, I don't like his color scheme that much, orange never was one of my favorite colors (if I had one). Next up is Squeezeplay, because I love the colors on him, the posabilty is good, and I like how they remolded the TR Mindwipe into a different creature, so to speak, as it almost convinced me that it was original. Plus, I quite liked Mindwipe back in Titans Return. My second favorite is Tarn, because this figure fills the void of having the Legacy Evolution Tarn mold until his Package Refresh, and the posability is great. Which leaves Cliffjumper as my favorite of the pack. 1) I love the design of Prime Cliff, and using the Chase mold was the most fitting choice. 2) The posabilty of him is not the best, but it's good enough for me. 3) The accessories are good enough to reference his Prime cartoon blasters, I even use the claw bits as shoulder horns to emphasize Cliff's "You want the horns, you got 'em" motif. Finally, this toy is much better than his original Prime toyline deluxe (not the First Edition version), and why I like this more than Tarn is because I'm more attached to the Prime show than Cyberverse (of which I've never watched).
I wasn't able to get the original tarn so this set was a must get and glad i found it in stores was well worth it for the price. Hope they do more value packs they are amazing.
The original has a reissue coming. I say get 2. Have this guy be Tarn and the other 2 could be "perfect decepticons" that flank him like an honor guard or something.
Cliffjumper is the only bot I want. He is a personal friend to my OC in my head cannon. Along with Nautica, though she is expensive. I might still invest in this set though.
The whole set is great, but I'm only in for the Tarantulas and Tarn. I wouldn't bet on this one hitting Target clearance since preorders are already sold out.
@@DennisMoultonAKAGotBot I don't mind multi-packs because they release figures that wouldn't get made otherwise and are a good value. I wish they'd stop with store exclusives.
I only got this set for Squeezplay, but I’m really digging Cliffjumper. I wouldn’t have bought Cliff on his own because I’m cherry picking anything that isn’t G1 or RiD 2001.
I like all these figures although I'd rename the spider . Live the tarn the cliffjumper seems to be better then the chase just felt better and squeezeplay was nice to get a version of
I treat this color of Taurantula as a generation zero version along with other wacky 90s toy colors of Beastwars that were part of Target exclusives to hang in my G2 collection. I'd choose the headmaster that matches the cartoon head best.
Mindwipe had a neat transformation and was a good bot mode, but the bad mode needed a LOT of work to be good. It was a kibbley brick. I'm looking forward to see how they updated it here.
Got this set two days ago (transparent plastic window, wow, last time I saw these on these Legacy exclusives - Nightprowler, Predacon Sandstorm & Buzzsaw). Shame Cliffjumper doesn't come with his proper accessories (triple barreled guns) instead of Chase's ones. Sadly, my copy has some scuffing on opaque chest part. Other than that, no qc issues - joints are tight (though left shoulder doesn't "foop" in place either). I'm afraid to transform him though, feet and "wing" parts lock on my copy of Chase crazy tightly (to the point I was afraid I won't be able to transform him back into robot mode), I don't want test if it's the same in case of Cliffjumper. Tarantulas is fine, my Legacy copy had weak knees, this one is fine (though still fails "knee test" - knee bends under figures weight if I hold it by ankle), no problems witch biceps (these come off easily, but joint is tight enough and slides back into place with "foop" noise). Tarn is little messy, loose knees, loose hips, I feel I lost here at qc lottery. Though I find paint apps insane. On side note, if I got a dollar every time I got figure with bent sword, I probably could spend these dollars on "free" deluxe. Unfortunately, the same with Squeezeplay - weak balljoints in shoulders, lower elbow joints, hips, thigh swivels (these are almost as bad as on Wreck and Rule Spindle - I sneeze, they slide off from mooshroom peg), paint already is chipping on hips. Titan Master has very bad hips (knees are fine), in head mode it's TR Highbrow all over again (bobblehead).
My QC is better than yours Hmm...can you tighten any of Tarn's screws? Cliff has rough shoulders but otherwise mine is fine My sward was not bent but I thought it would be. My Squeezepkay gas slightly loose shoulders but I've had worse. Funny enough, the TR Crashbash feels like a more solid head fit to me.
@@DennisMoultonAKAGotBot Unfortunately, these loose joints are all pinned (except ball joints, obviously). I think applying some floor polish would suffice. After all, I was successful with it on SS86 Ratchet's floppy right shoulder (pinned joint), Legacy Medix floppy knees and (to some degree) on Cyberverse deluxe Megatron (that one was rag doll). Though Selects Red Swoop proved resistant. At least it's not as bad as Wreck and Rule Twin Twist's knees, that one is literally floppy (I bought second copy at the discount, the same, it seems that TR jumpstarter mould is fubar).
@BlackhandPL The Jumpstarter mold was amazing. Can't speak for the wreck n rule but my two from TR are flawless. That said, good luck on any fix attempts
Really the only one I think is a dud is Tarantulus. I mean it IS a good mold, but the other three I definitely see the value. I have noticed it seems they are going 3 deluxe/1 voyager with the last two four packs. Thats good.
I don't really mind Cliffjumper getting the spotlight over Bumblebee in the Skybound comics, but I _do_ mind how they killed off Bumblebee for it to happen. (I've said it before, and I'll say it again: 2023 was such a bad year for Bumblebee.) But as short-lived as this Cliffjumper's time in _Transformers: Prime_ was, you can't deny the fact that he lived long enough to give us two of the most iconic lines that any version of Cliffjumper has ever said, aside from G1 Cliffjumper's "Lemme at 'em!".
