you can actually swap the hard drive, you need to download the new software on playstation website to actually do it, there is other videos that explain this. hope it helps.
So if both Ps4 consoles are both at the same firmware, could they both be swapped and work with no issues? Both of my hards drives are original to the Ps4s . Would this work with swapping and no start up issues?
I have a question I need answering . So I used to have a PS4 and had a ton of fun and spent a lot of money on it . I decided to sell it and wipe everything as it was the best thing to do, a few years later now we are in lockdown I have decided to get a new one , is there any way to get my data back as my account still works and I can log in , does that mean I will have my stuff back ? I’m guessing I just have to buy the games again
Download your account on the new ps4. Make it your primary ps4. Go into library and then go to purchased. Anything purchased in the playstation will be there.
yea you can you put a USB install all the ps4 data that you have in and after switch the hard drive and after you install all of your data from the USB and this is will work
So the Playstation puts a code on the harddrive specifically for that playstation and everytime it boots the code on the hard drive has to match the code on the system to boot. I have a adapter that plugs into those harddrives and allows me to plug it into a computer as a external hard drive would it be possible to copy that the encryption code off one hardrive and put it on the other hardrive to make the Playstation boot up with all the data still saved on it?

I’m getting fed up with my corrupted games, nothing seems to work, not even safe mode will do the trick although I haven’t tried replacing the internal hard drive or initializing it yet, which is a definitive hell no cause my little brother plays on the same ps4 as I do on the second account with no cloud save.

So say I did reinitialize system and wiped the hard drive out of my old PS4 and than got the system firmware installed and than put my current one back into my current PS4 would it mess up my current hard drive I’m trying to have two hard drives one for MW and one for everything else
Hey, ps4 geek, when you swap a ps4 hard drive to the other one, make sure that you swap out the same name brand too. That's the reason why it didn't work for you ,sir.
Really Sony Windows and Linux can do it without losing anything I hope the PS5 have a real hard drive that is able to be swapped because is means is was Made to get you to Format and restart all over meaning if Ps4 hard drive need reinstall update file meaning is wanted to format the hard drive making you to buy a new PS4
My games hardrive is corrupted, I wanna put my old game HD in there but it says cannot start the ps4 idc if something get wiped bc I have a usb how do I make it work?
The main focus of the video wasn't what I was after, but the ending answered my question. I am planning on upgrading my stock HDD over the Xmas break, and wanted to know if I could go back to stock HDD if there was an issue. Or if by simply inserting a new drive, the old drive would be forced to be wiped if reinserted. When upgrading a PC, I'll generally leave the old SSD/HDD for a few months as-is, and then when I'm sure the new drive is OK, I will then wipe the old HDD and put it in a USB enclosure/caddy, to act as a backup drive. I guess I will give the PS4 a month or two with the new drive, and then format the old drive to use as PS4 external storage.
Hi would like to know if your method works, as I was going to swap out the original HDD for an upgraded HDD. Tried to download the re- installation data from Sony's website but it's not down loading from the site.
@@leehawkins485 I haven't got around to it yet (although in preparation I did a full backup to a spare USB HDD yesterday). Do you use the Chrome browser? I tried to download it via Chrome, and neither the update or reinstallation file would download. However I then tried Firefox and it downloaded no problem. Same with Microsoft Edge, it downloaded fine. It may be a false flag security issue with Chrome, perhaps it's wary of downloading PUP files? By the way, remember you have to format the USB drive to FAT32, then create PS4 folder with an UPDATE folder inside that. Copy the downloaded file in there, you shouldn't have to rename it.
Just do the update and see it dosnt wipe the HDD cose it's a different HDD from another ps4 it will have a different 7.2 something update on it so it won't read on your ps4 that version. So try again with doing update. It hopefully should work and keep data maybe.
Hey there thank you for the video! What happens when I only keep like 4 games on my ps4 pro, then do all the steps to go from HD to ssd and also make a backup. Will it also backup the games bought but not on my playstation or rather will I still have acces to them after?
Because I did already order a 2tb Samsung evo ssd and soft delete a lot of my games. Did only keep fallout76, AC Odyssey Horizon Zero Dawn and Unravel. The rest, it says, I can re-download. But what if I backup reset the whole ps4 and change to ssd. Start it up again.. will I still have acces to the bought games or is this solely connected to my PS account, which seems logical and this is what I think/hope ofcourse 😅
Hi there so i want to change my harddrive on ps4. Im putting a 1tb currently have a 500 Lets say i want to put it back to normal again. Can I just put 500gb back and it will work or will i have to reload it again
Why take the HDD out? If your going round a friends house just sign in to PSN and use your own profile, if it’s because you wanna use games you own you can attach a external HDD and just take that with you simple 👍
YourSixStudios I could see what you was trying to do though not many people would know, but yeah as soon as you pull the HDD out you can’t put it in another one it’s all done my digital signatures with in the system

Because im lvl 70 and have the season 1 battle pass on cod mw and lvl 100 on rdr with everything. If i lose everything i did on these games i will cry.
No you will not lose all of your saved online games process such a cod or fortnite Destiny, RDR 2 etc. These online games especially your account will not get deleted cuz your online accounts are saved on their server online. Also if your online games got stored on cloud the its all good. But only your clips and screen shots and single player games all of their saved data will get deleted unless if you backed them up on a external hard drive.

Kelvin S I had my best games on a disk like rainbow six siege for example but I did buy a ton of add ons in there. I’m still confused on this matter
Will I have my progress that I originally had if I just buy a new disk and play the game or will eveything be gone ?
@@jamespage8131 if it wasnt backed up your saved progress will be gone
Kelvin S ok thanks anyway , I’m guessing it will be gone then
yea you can you put a USB install all the ps4 data that you have in and after switch the hard drive and after you install all of your data from the USB and this is will work
So the Playstation puts a code on the harddrive specifically for that playstation and everytime it boots the code on the hard drive has to match the code on the system to boot. I have a adapter that plugs into those harddrives and allows me to plug it into a computer as a external hard drive would it be possible to copy that the encryption code off one hardrive and put it on the other hardrive to make the Playstation boot up with all the data still saved on it?
Do I need pc or external hard drive
I’m serious help
me too help ^
I have a question I have two ps4 slims one in my room and one in the living room my PlayStation has lan cable port doesn’t work so I wanted to swap the ps4s but i don’t really remember the account information’s on my PlayStation would I be able to swap the hard drives and do it that way without having to redo everything
I still don't understand how the second video was worse than the first. I think him freaking out about the PS4 being removed in the first video
What happens if you update using safe mode?
So according to the video if I buy a second ps4 hdd and put it in my ps4 and download 11.0 software and jailbreak it I should have a jailbroken hdd and a regular one that both work fine in the same ps4?
This probably a dumb question. I just recently bought a ps4 pro. My old ps4 I upgraded to a 2tb hard drive. My question is if I switch hard drives and install the OS update, will that erase everything on the 2tb hard drive?
i need quick answer. I have 2 ps4 one is 500 ,m another 1tb, but 500 works pretty loudl and i want to swtich hard drives. What will happen if i reinstall software ?????
Can you use 2 internal hard drive formated for same ps4 and use on the same ps4
I’m getting fed up with my corrupted games, nothing seems to work, not even safe mode will do the trick although I haven’t tried replacing the internal hard drive or initializing it yet, which is a definitive hell no cause my little brother plays on the same ps4 as I do on the second account with no cloud save.
Hey there I wanted to know if I can put a hard drive from a ps4 no one uses in To ps4 pro and I don’t care if I erases data because I bought a ps4 pro with no hard drive
So say I did reinitialize system and wiped the hard drive out of my old PS4 and than got the system firmware installed and than put my current one back into my current PS4 would it mess up my current hard drive I’m trying to have two hard drives one for MW and one for everything else
I just wanna know if I can take a corrupted harddrive out of one and replace it with a hardrive from a broken playstation
Even if I have to initialize it
What if I have 2 hard drives 500gb each and i want to interchange them on the same ps4. Would it work? Without losing data?
Just Use a USB cable and save yer game data and just plug it in when u want to play with it
@@abokz29 can you help me too^
@@arthurhernandez8378 help you on?
Hey, ps4 geek, when you swap a ps4 hard drive to the other one, make sure that you swap out the same name brand too. That's the reason why it didn't work for you ,sir.
why didn't you get the update file that it says you need that would have worked
Really Sony
Windows and Linux can do it without losing anything
I hope the PS5 have a real hard drive that is able to be swapped
because is means is was Made to get you to Format and restart all over
meaning if Ps4 hard drive need reinstall update file
meaning is wanted to format the hard drive making you to buy a new PS4
My games hardrive is corrupted, I wanna put my old game HD in there but it says cannot start the ps4 idc if something get wiped bc I have a usb how do I make it work?
Mine is saying the same thing I’m trying to put my old ps4 hard drive in it. Did yours work
@@darrenbrown7669 yeah
@@darrenbrown7669 but it was wiped and the game started up like new, you might wanna back up your data
@@darrenbrown7669 you also a a usb drive because you have to download the ps4 reinstallation file from the PlayStation website
Aite cool appreciate it bro I’m gonna try and see if it works after I download the reinstallation file
Cough cough these SCREWS when there's only 1 screw in the console that's like that
So could I just switch em bc one has 400GB n the other has 1TB ion rlly care bout the save data or nun everything I play is saved in da game (online)
what if you take the update that it said to dowload and install it, would that change anithing?
Hi there so i want to change my harddrive on ps4. Im putting a 1tb currently have a 500
Lets say i want to put it back to normal again. Can I just put 500gb back and it will work or will i have to reload it again
Hey is there any why you can help me with mine bc mine is broken I should have not tryed to fix it so yeah can you try to help me fix it?
Why take the HDD out? If your going round a friends house just sign in to PSN and use your own profile, if it’s because you wanna use games you own you can attach a external HDD and just take that with you simple 👍
Thats probably the best way to do it.
YourSixStudios I could see what you was trying to do though not many people would know, but yeah as soon as you pull the HDD out you can’t put it in another one it’s all done my digital signatures with in the system
Yuri Tard if you activate your account on a different PlayStation as the primary account you can download all of your own games that are digitally purchased
PS4 Fortnite Clips yeah I missed that bit out, i was just pointing out the easiest way, but thank you for the reply and positive comment 👍
my ps4 life span is out 😢 I have a Xbox and pc but its not the same
I have a 350gb vids in my old ps4 hard drive and my old ps4 has been broken but the hard drive is okay what shold i do?
Ahmed try to use it with a new PlayStation if that doesn’t work your out of luck
Ahmed you can find a usb3.0 cable and connect It to your pc and then you can transfer all your data there
You can buy a external housing for about 15 bucks on Amazon and use it like that

What if i update the new one did i can back to the old hard drive ???
Save yourself 8 minutes :NO
Bought a new ps4, everything saves and uploads to the cloud. If I put my 1tb from my old ps4 into my new one, even after redownloading a bunch of games, will it simply reload everything or?
what's the name of the ps4 theme at the end of the video you are using please ?
Does this work on the ps4 pro without losing data
Thanks buddy
What if we have the slim Ps4, not the pro
Then You dont have to watch this Video

Ah so its impossible to swap hdd to to other ps4 without reinstalling.
Can you do the same but with no users just operating system start mode.I'm stuck on safe mode and I'm thinking of cloning a hard drive to get out of safe mode. Tried the USB update but I keep getting an error. I have done everything to the T
My ps4's hard drive broke last week. Its on reparation now and they will change it. I know im gonna get to keep the games i bought and all those things so im okay with that but there is one thing i need to know. Will i lose all of my saves? Because im lvl 70 and have the season 1 battle pass on cod mw and lvl 100 on rdr with everything. If i lose everything i did on these games i will cry.
No you will not lose all of your saved online games process such a cod or fortnite Destiny, RDR 2 etc. These online games especially your account will not get deleted cuz your online accounts are saved on their server online. Also if your online games got stored on cloud the its all good. But only your clips and screen shots and single player games all of their saved data will get deleted unless if you backed them up on a external hard drive.

If you use the usb update file does it work
Imagine the ps4 does this with one harddrive, its my case
Mine too,no solution yet,i don't want to throw all 2tb to the trash can,i have only 2mb to download things....updates like 30gb and more would be a new pain in the ass.
Thank that enwer my question
So my problem is that my ps4 kept overheating so I opened it and tried fixing it by cleaning the fan and adding new thermal paste it worked for a bit of time till it started acting up again so I continued to do wat I already have done I removed the thermal and added sum more idk wats up with it at all it blinks blue but doesn’t take me to safe mode at all and Ik how to get there but it just doesn’t allow me to go there i just want all my clips back because I cherish those memories of me and my pals playing games I need help
Literally all I care about are those clips is there any way I can recover them ? Plz sum1 reply back lol
Oh ya forgot to mention it’s not the hdmi either because I tried it with a new one as well but it continues to blink blue and still doesn’t allow me to enter safe mode

Can y’all help me with something please? I have a first gen ps4 and im trying to transfer all my data to my ps4 slim from my first gen ps4 and I tried transferring the data using an Ethernet cable and it got stuck on a certain percentage so I heard something about rebuilding the database and I did that and tried it again using the Ethernet cable and the same thing happened. Is there any other ways I can transfer data ?
Whay you don't update it ?
Question what if u put it n a slim
I got the first gen ps4 I was wondering if u can put that memory card in the slim
Yes it will, you have no idea what you are talking about, you were supposed to choose update system and use the internet and update it, all the data from that hard drive would be on that playstation.
Damn so looks like I’ll have to go with plan B
Get a bigger hard drive and re download everything
Sub and hit notification bell did it ages ago and I reccomend you do it to! Btw pls shout me out I really want to start a channel like you but dont have the gear yet
So i can get out my HDD and put it back without and issue or requaring formatting?! I was trying to clean it and check its status by connection it to PC.
I just wanna clean my HDD and check its sectors health status on PC and i am afraid that when i put it back without swapping or doing anything else; it may force me to format it.
As i see here in this video he put it back and it did boot without an issue.
I don’t think you can, he have to modded hdds.
whats the error code definition
Can u do it on the slim
hi man, i had a doubt. my system was corrupted and i am not able to access the safe mode, so i thought about exchanging my ps4's HDD with a friend's to reinstall the system on my HDD. will it be that when reinstalling the system on his ps4 i will be able to use it normally on my device?
Actually yes
Has both the hard drives been used
