Jason M I'm trying to decide between getting a XDs 9mm or a XD Mod 2 for concealed carry. I'm thinking of getting XDs first and then later a XD Mod 2 for winter months. Any advice/opinions ?
I also own the XD mod 2 bi-tone 9mm. Thus far it has proven to be an awesome carry gun. The Mod 2 has replaced my XD-s 9mm. I have over 1000 rounds through it and I have had not one failure to feed,failure to extract, light primer strike or anything. The trigger is smooth the recoil is very light. I switched to the green front sight. I give the give the gun a 4.8 out of 5. Excellent choice man great buy.
+Rashad Jones -- I also have the Bi-Tone XD Model 2 in 9mm. Actually I would have preferred the regular white dot front sight as I find it easier to see than the red or green. I also worry about the Red or Green tube falling out of the front sight.
It is, when it comes to the grip. It is said that grip length makes the biggest difference in a carry weapon, because that is mainly what you are trying to conceal the most.
Dude you're not trying to conceal the barrel and slide! The hardest thing to conceal on a pistol is the grip! I don't care if you've got a 5" model with a short 2 finger grip it's still easier to conceal than a 3" barrel with a full size grip!
As of 2016 Springfield Armory no longer ships all the goodies in the box along with the handgun. Now you just get...2 mags, cleaning brush, lock, extra sight strips, manual.
No, I did not buy the essentials pack after finding out that they were not sent with gun. When I ordered the gun at local gun shop I was told that the essentials would be in box with gun. Not too happy when I found out that they were not in box when I picked up gun.
Nice review.. I have the 9mm AND LOVE IT! I just bought the .40 in Black & Flat Dark Earth. can't wait to shoot it. think I will also buy the Pierce extensions for my magazines, lots of people seem to like them. thanks for your review..
No i just seen that they have amajor problem with trigger not resetting when you pull the slide back and if you drop the slide forward it can go off because there is no stop in front of fireing pin. Damn i was really liking it
+Nick Brungard - The older style Sigs are great - such as the P220, P229, and P228. But I do not like their newer P250 which is double action only. The older style Sigs are very hard to find now-a-days. Might be due to their High Cost compared to the Newer Plastic Guns.
the height from top of the slide to the bottom of the frame is thick. Not too crazy about the grip zone, feel like touching sand paper. I think the S&W m&P grip is better.
+YeuLaKho I do like the M&P. I was torn between the M&P9 compact, and the XD mod.2, and after shooting both, I am glad I stuck with the XD mod. 2. Something about the M&P trigger threw me off a bit. Then again, so does a factory glock trigger. It just depends on what you are used to, or what you can adapt to. I'm used to the texture on this grip, as it's kind of similar to HK grips. But that's just me. I still wouldn't totally rule out getting an M&P again somewhere down the road.
+Ameer Harley - I think the weight is subjective to which gun you are comparing it to. If I was comparing it to a Third Generation S&W Pistol which is all metal - then the Springfield is much lighter. I actually think the size of it is very comparable to a small 1911 pistol.

I want to say the bi-tone was maybe $50 or so more than the all black model. I ordered it from my local gun shop, since they didn't have the bi-tone in stock. Don't remember how much I paid for mine, but it was probably in the $525-$550 range.

Can this fit in your front jeans pocket? I have the XD full size and it is bigger than my Paraordnance P12 45. My Para fits perfectly in my front jeans pocket.

Just bought one of these yesterday and it's a thing of beauty and construction, It's awesome i love it.

Still own this don’t carry it as much as my Glock 36 but it’s a safe queeen now
Even with biggest extended mag, it's not like carrying a full size. The barrel is much shorter, & weight is less.

I have a XD mod 2 and love it. I never did like two tone guns. Just my opinion. Good video.
Thanks! It's just a preference of mine, I suppose. Just see too many black handguns, that they're just boring to me. I have enough of them already.
Just bought the 45 and even with my small hands, the grip is awesome. This is as big as my m&p 9 compact. This will be my edc.
That thing is sexy! I have a p229 extreme on it's way but this may be my subcompact. Have a p320 full, getting the 229, now I want a subcompact

The grip and trigger safety are the best. Won't fire if you dropped it. And it's reliable 13 to 16 rounds in your magazines good choice
I had this gun and traded it for a glock 27, this gun is extremely heavy, for edc.

Don't get me it's an extremely nice gun I may buy another but it will be for home protection or a car gun.
Weight means nothing in a carry gun if you have the right holster.
Good video. I've been thinking about a grip extension. I think I may just make the jump and get one. Won't hurt to see how it feels.
