    When this came up on my TH-cam suggested videos I rewatched it because you always give good advice. I now have the mini along with the one EP and two EP2's, so, yes, I love them. I did six shirts a week ago (I did post them). But here's a funny story with infusible ink. I had to slice out where black was going to go on blue skateboards. Now I'm placing my transfer sheet on the shirt and being very careful to line up and fit in all the black where necessary. I even strategically taped down the edges so nothing would move. Put the butcher paper on top, used my large EP2, and guess what I didn't do? I forgot to put ink side down on my shirt - never turned the darn thing over. Holy cow and yikes. So now I have a beautiful image on my butcher paper. But there seems to be quite a bit of ink on my sheet so I quick turned it over and pressed. Voila! A bit more distressed than I initially expected, but came out fine and got lots of compliments on FB.

    • @JenniferMaker

      You can use a big press on small projects. It is basically a big flat iron.
      Here are a few general tips that might help:
      Use Butcher Paper: Always cover your project with butcher paper to protect it from direct heat and ensure even pressure.
      Preheat the Fabric: Preheat your fabric for about 15 seconds to remove any moisture and wrinkles.

    Does parchment paper work instead of butcher paper? Thank you so much for this tutorial! I just got my first easypress (though I may try and return it and get an Easypress 2... can you spritz with water when using a fusible interfacing? Which interfacing work best or should not be used to stiffen fabric? can you use fusible foam if you are making a bag. I am totally new to this. I got and Easy Press 2 for my birthday. thanks

    • @JenniferMaker
      @JenniferMaker  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do not need to use water to press fusible interfacing onto fabric but use a cloth over it to avoid it from sticking to your iron. There are a lot of options to choose from. Joann fabrics has a variety to choose from so it is worth a trip to your local store to make sure that you get what you need and want for the specific project you are making.

    You recommend the largest heat press 2, if you can only buy one. Yet you said you use the 9x9 the most. I’m wondering if I want to spend the extra money for the larger EP2, if the 9x9 EP2 is the “go to” tool. I will be primarily be making infusible ink projects. Would you be able to provide a little more guidance?

    • @JenniferMaker
      @JenniferMaker  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      When it comes right down to it, Tanya, you need to make your own decision! Any Easy Press is a good purchase! I recommend the 12 x 12 because it can handle almost any size image you could possibly come up with! It is a "go-to" for many people! Other people like the lighter weight of the 9 x 9, and do just fine all of their crafting lives making infusible ink projects with it! The best guidance I have is to go to a nearby crafting store that carries Cricut products and take a look at the two sizes for yourself! 😉🥰

    You mentioned about the temp. Fluctuation at 21:45 and how it’s a bigger deal with the easy press 1. I have the easy press 2 9x9 (I’ve had it since Christmas and started using it a lot more recently) and mine seems to do that a lot. It does it right when I set it down on my project and set the timer. It will drop about 15 degrees. Is this normal to happen so often?

    • @hayleym1012
      @hayleym1012 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, when you set the press down on a cooler surface, it is going to cool off as its heat is going into the material.

    can you use glitter iron on on silk and what is the temperature be set to?

    • @JenniferMaker
      @JenniferMaker  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, you can use glitter iron-on vinyl on silk, but you need to be cautious because silk is a delicate fabric. Here are some tips and temperature settings to help you:
      Temperature Setting: For silk, you should set your EasyPress to a lower temperature to avoid damaging the fabric. A good starting point is around 270-280 degrees Fahrenheit.
      Pressing Time: Press for about 10-15 seconds with light pressure. Always use a Teflon sheet or butcher paper between the EasyPress and the vinyl to protect the fabric. It's always a good idea to test on a small, inconspicuous area or a scrap piece of silk first to ensure the fabric can handle the heat and the vinyl adheres properly. Allow the vinyl to cool completely before peeling the carrier sheet to ensure the best adhesion.
