I always hear people saying that SSD's are faster than a traditional HDD's. However when I put them both on a desk, neither of them moved. What a lie ! 🤔😕😒😘😆😜🤓👍

IM WEAKKK
You made my day 😂
Bro you have no idea how much this just helped me. I just got my first gaming PC a week ago and I got a 2 TB HDD rather than a 1 TB SSD. I was wondering why everything is taking so damn long to load….. it has legit been a struggle. Booting up the PC takes about 3-5 minutes… starting a game takes 3-5 minutes… downloading and transfers… it’s unbelievable how far tech has come in this sense
Happy to hear it was helpful. Enjoy the new rig!
I feel hdd is better for long term storage. SSD is better for files you will be accessing often.
SSD is just better
@@d.d5619except for long term apparently
@@d.d5619 SSD is solely better for performance... Its only best used for a computer...If you want to have a backup storage.. , and no plan to run any operating system on it.. HDD will be better... Since its not affected much by read/write cycles.
So in conclusion.. internal storage, SSD better.. ,external storage,HDD...
That’s the beauty of having a PC as well. You can get multiple storage slots and keep a massive HDD for etc.
A year later, the price argument mostly goes away other than for very large devices. I just installed a 2TB Samsung SSD (not a cheapie brand) for $100.
That's a steel that's normally 200
Good video, informative 👍 thanks
1:30 There actually were some cars that had record players in them. Chryslers had them in the 1950s and early '60s.
That is a terrible idea though. Imaging storing vinyl records in that hot environment.
I don't know what people mean when they say “durable”.
I have used at least 6 different SSDs over the last 10 years (not anymore) in different computers and none have lasted more than two and a half years. They have all died suddenly without any prior notification or indication of failure; whatever you have stored will be lost if you don’t keep baking it up.
On the other hand, I have HDDs that are still fully operational after 20 years of use. In fact, I have an old Mac Mini 2006, which is completely obsolete and I use it only as a media reader/player, it still has its original HDD and works like a charm after 18 years.
If you want to talk about DURABILITY, that’s what durability really means in my book.
Yes, SSDs are ultra fast (I love that), but they die at any moment and you will lose everything (I hate that).
HDDs can be sickeningly slow, but they are D-U-R-A-B-L-E.
So if you want to use an SSD, that’s fine, but make sure you have an HDD as well to back it up.
Great information. Thank you. You nailed it and supported why I don't think I'll be straying from HDD storage in my next, new, Windows 11 desktop, tower pc (when we lose our Windows 10 support next year), even though pc manufacturers are now making fewer and fewer pcs w/HDDs.
I have heard otherwise that hdd have complaints in the long run - I'm planning to buy a storage option but am confused whether to go with HDD or SSD
Great video!
I also recommend making backup files onto the Cloud. If both the HDD and SSD fail, you still have everything important in the Cloud.
@@shikhahalasiry2412 True, but what alternative is there? I have 270GB of data on the Cloud. I could have saved them onto an external HD or SSD, but those also can get damaged or lost. There's also the possibility of the Cloud getting compromised or hacked, but I don't see any other way.
no way cloud can fail to and has M-disks bluray is my go to and then hd what i here @@swallowedinthesea11
All I can think about is the og ipod. I drop mine and the hard drive didn't break, but it definitely got damaged to the point of giving a loud wirrrr whenever I turned it on. It'd also click and whirrrrr everytime you changed a song. Still, those things were badass
Don't imagine people intentionally dropping their desktops
Great informative video thanks love
What is the best for your phone to backup?
I am planning on buying one, from pictures and videos, witch one should I buy for it to last mind you.
Go with SSD, especially NVMe. HDD takes forever load and exit the game and also assets pop-in often due to their large size.
Good advice, but most of us aren't rich like Elon!
@@swallowedinthesea11 It's not 2016 anymore. You can pick up 1 TB of NVMe for under £100
@@swallowedinthesea11 Also back when I bought a drive. It was £120 for a 1TB gaming hard drive. Yes, hard drive. Not SATA SSD or NVMe.
@qwert.6969 It is! I bought a Crucial 500GB SSD for $25 USD not too long ago.
@qwert.6969 actually yeah, not bad at all
Thank you it was helpful
I loved the introduction 😂😂😂😂so i'm subscribing 😂🤣🤣😂😂
bruh 💀💀u talkin about the "edge" part or the drive pun?
I plan on getting a 1tb nvme drive but i wanna know if its worth keeping my 2tb hdd i already had for software other than games and general files. I wont lie I dont know if it works like that or not. Just so i have more game space and im not loading up my drives close to max
^Okay, what would you recommend for someone who connects it every few months to back up their computer. for me pictures are the most important and other than that i back up the document section on my laptop... so i delete on my hardrive and upload again. I don't move my hardrive often but worry about the one time it may fall... you never know
Backup files onto the Cloud. If both the HDD and SSD fail, you still have everything important in the Cloud.
Bro your underrated
Explained very well.
Thank you!
Most of my relatives are spending their earnings for some expensive SSDs for their PCs
So that's why whenever i visit them, their rooms has lots of unused HHDs.
😅
I was given a “GA-Z170XP-SLI without a hard drive. Can I put a SSD on this motherboard or do I need a SATA? Also which SSD or SATA would you recommend?
@joemygawd Thanks for the question. That's not a product we've ever sold, but we would suggest referring to your system or motherboard product manual. In terms of which type of hard drive to use, that will depend on your needs. Here are the ones we offer: www.onlogic.com/computers/components/storage/
So helpful ❤😊
Glad it was helpful!
But if i need the storage for a long term of use with high rate of writing no matter the speed was what should i buy?!
Let's talk lifespan tho cus people saying they be lasting them months to 3 years before death from a SSD
HDD will die faster compared to SSD.
what is HDD presented in 5he video
I love the puns u put in your videos 😁
That warms our hearts!
How do I utilise the SSD and HDD for a video editing software? Is it possible to download the software onto my SSD but store the video editing data on the HDD?
Yes it is. Install the software on the SSD and then in the software set your data location on the HDD
@@ZK-APA Thank you kind sir!

Which is better for DAW music production?
SSD! Wouldn’t want to lose those projects from accidentally dropping your hard drive. I also just corrupted a hard drive with my drums on them from accidentally ejected it 😢
However, for backup. I would use a HDD. Especially if it’s just going to be sitting somewhere and not using it constantly. That way you can save even your oldest projects. Hope this helps! Might need both of them. HDD for storing older projects and SSD for on the go/recent & current projects/drums/ audio files if you’re constantly changing computers.
I have a lot of old pics on SD cards.... will they disappear if not powered in a camera?
yes, I would suggest store to simple CD or DVD.
And SSD lifespan is much better compared to HDD.
So I want to rip my bluray movies and store them on one drive which is best hdd or ssd in my case? Thanks
HDD, because you need more storage space over higher speed
im ultra sensitive to fan and buzzing noise are SSDs quieter? or HHDs
HHDs do sometimes make audible noise when reading or writing information. Solid state drives have no moving parts, so nothing to make any noise.
I honestly just want to use my laptop for social media, which would be better for me?@@OnLogic
If you're bothered by the extremely low noise of a Hard Drive, you should be a member of the Justice League.
Oh my gosh that made me giggle I have hearing loss nd seensory issues so everyday noise that most people can ignore bother me and annoy me. I often wonder if I'm highly functional person on the spectrum but definitely a highly asenaitive person who needs a certain amount of alone and quiet time everyday just to function without freaking out and having meltdowns lol @@bencapra3801
Nice
Everybody says SSD's don't work for long-term storage though.
Yes.. and thats the tradeoff you will see , for better speeds.... So yeah.. For a running pc, SSD better..
But just for sake of storing data, and not accessing frequently,, hdd is better
My 1tb HDD is so loud and takes so long to find stuff, I'm glad my windows OS drive is an SSD if it was an hard drive when I start my PC it would go BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR (I use 2 drives)
No moving parts... Ok. 😀👌... So ssd are like flash ram, but the storage is permanent... 🤔
Ok but which is better for games or generally my pc, like i boughed MW2019 but hell it 258ish GB Way more than my pc can handle
If you can only choose one, go for a SSD now and then add a hard drive later for your games library
Anyone catch anything he said?
Would an array of HDDs in RAID be faster than an SSD?
No way
No HDD’s are ~200 MB/s, Gen4 NVME SDD’s are ~6,000 MB/s and faster. You’d need 30 HDDs interacting perfectly to come close.
haha stupid me ! I just bought a used laptop and thought HDD meant High Definition Display, its ok still happy with my purchase
who everyone buy hard disk drive (HDD) seagate 1TB in 2023. foreign whole of the world love hard disk drive (HDD) seagate 1TB missing you.
What about for storing pictures, videos, and documents?
Thanks for the question. Both work just fine for storing pictures, videos, and documents. HDD is, generally, the more cost effective option while SSDs often allow for faster transfer of files.
The camera is over this way dear
02:29 bruhs an onther level🫡😎
Lol I was like number 400🎉🎉🎉🎉
I always use HDD, ssd is mad expensive for no reason, like u really spendimg 100 dollars more to wait 4 seconds less, lmao
Why did the HDD break up with the SSD?
Because it couldn't handle their speed-dating lifestyle!
tooooo much jargon
e
ssd vs hdd is this a joke i mean come on. ssd last very long also and it has no moving parts. hdd are long dead and ssd are 5-10x+ faster even a 1TB ssd is $60 now.
Yea for 95% of consumer use case ssds are it, but like the guy said, hdds are still applicable today for certain specific cases like massive data storage lol
@@georgehunda649 yes. For storage it's still good. For the operative system ssd is better.
Too much BS generalization and illogical statement made by him.
