- Today we are going to be talking bout phones screens that is failing and having green line appear after a software update.
Some shocking pattern is noticed but no one is talking bout it. Odd.

This isn't a conspiracy anymore. Just experienced it with my S21 Ultra after software updates. Wtf is going on with samsung. Been using samsung phones for more than 16 years, and with the way they handling this issue might make me want to switch. Screw this.
After researching and asking several celfone techies, the problem was the flex connector of the lcd screen. They said its of low quality that if your fones gets hot, it slowly melts away the bonding within the flex connector and soon the connection will be severed. So even if you replace the lcd which is almost the same price as a second hand fone of the same model, the problem will come up again in the future. As a fix, you can bring the fone to a technician who does flex bonding. The shop should have a flex bonding machine. Only a few repair shops have this coz its very expensive. But when repaired you get to keep your old lcd and the problem will be fix. BTW, even iphones and OnePlus fones are also affected even vivos and oppos
able to share which samsung firmware version causing this green line issue?
I am a samsung user since then. However, I felt like I am going to switch to iphone if they can't fix it manually by fixing the update.
U will be disappointed to know that iphones have the same problem and they will charge more money than samsung.
My 2 friends faced this already with their iphone 12pro .

Lol latest iphone especially 13pm and 14pm white screen problem is more worst then just a tiny green line..
The update apparently won't fix it because some voltage parameters were changed in the update causing dead pixels , there's some video on yt about it

I literally saw this happen to my s21 ultra screen last night. It just faded in a span of about 5 seconds and stayed there. My phone is also a little over 2 years old since purchase/first activation.
Whether its qc issues or some deeper conspiracy, one would think buying a higher end phone guarantees it would last. Apparently not the case for samsung

Please guys better back up your precious photos!! My Samsung S21 Ultra had a green screen a couple of months back and it's just turned full blackout two days ago...replacing the screen is very costly...and I'm finding ways to get the data from my phone, especially my family photos which I hold dearly. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. I know that the phone is still alive as the alarm sounds daily....I can feel it turning on but I can't seem to press my unlock code. Please HELP. By the way one of my colleagues got the green line tody too, same model of S21 Ultra, just 2 months out of warranty.

Same issue with my s21 ultra 2yrs old. Just updated to the newest software yesterday July 2. Sadly today July 3, just charge up my phone then when i had checked on it, just notice a green line. How i wish I could turn back time and not update may software again...

You all try to download or flash the original or default firmware using odin tools.. if it works. Then never update it... there are tutorials on how and where to download and how to use the odin tools.. but be carefull to follow instruction to avoid further damage... I got an issue with the camera and wifi with my old S Series before after an update. so i tried flashing the original release version or stock version and it works perfectly.. but remember, do it at your own risk, remember to backup all of your important files from your mobile to your desktop or other drives before proceeding..
Yep my Oppo Find X2 started showing pink line a couple of days ago. I've used it for 2.5 years already. I was hoping that I could use it for 2 more years with no issue.

Same happened to my Note 20 ultra last night. Out of the blue the green line appeared. 😡 No physical drop or damage. Checked the latest firmware update was May 10.

got 3 years warranty from vivo, for X series. just got it replaced today for less than 1 hour, completely free of charge.

I'm so glad I saw this video. Glad to know that something was fishy with the Samsung 2020 released series... Since my own S20+ just got a purple line.
Not sure if I can trust Samsung any more due to this issue.

Is this limited to s20 and note20 plus models? Or it also destroyed midrange models?
So far, seems to affect those using 120hz screens. Earlier was mostly S20 and then Note20. Now i am seeing more and more S21 having this problem and....... drum roll....... S21 series have reached 2 years.

I experienced this on my Note 20 ultra a month ago first was the white screen after several updates it was back to normal, and after several updates the green line apeared and then another line now it became 5 lines. I was dissaplointed and i am a samsung lover since but now i guess its time to change brands

I used to have just a single green line on my note 20 ultra…around September 2022…Now I’m having 11 green lines making the phone difficult to use now..pathetic

This is worlwide, its very rampant in the Philippines and Samsung continues to deny its existenxce. Some say that dont update using your phone data, use your home or office internet to update.
it is rampant. Samsung India is replacing the screens for free. Just not a global effort. I wish this could gain enough traction that Samsung finally takes action on it. For now, they are hiding behind the curtains of "OUT OF WARRANTY"

I'm using Note 20 Ultra since December 2020. I once had a problem with the main camera and replaced it for $100 on 2022. And now I'm getting worried about this screen issue. Should I trade in as soon as possible?
Absolutely. If you still like an android. Try the Huawei instead. It's better than any other chinese owned phone. And it's close to samsung. They also use leica camera and offers snapdragon for most models. If not, try the alternative, Iphone.
My note 20 ultra got the green line a few days ago. I will never buy Samsung again
I am wondering if all the affected users in Malaysia can start something or make this issue go viral, I think that is the only way to get Samsung Malaysia's attention and maybe then only they will do something about it ? Maybe we can approach those independent news outlet like WorldOfBuzz or WeirdKaya or something and highlight this issue and maybe they can help us to post and make it go viral...... TC bro can you assist us on this ??? We should start something somewhere ... maybe all gather and protest outside Samsung Malaysia office >...< haha
I was hoping more people share out this video to the point that Samsung Malaysia finally take note and address it. But being a small time content creator that is not specialized in tech videos (most of my videos are DIY related), I guess its not gaining the traction I was hoping for.

My phone turned white and samsung refused to change as I had a minor crack which I feel is totally unrelated. Currently using xiaomi

@VvClear.musicalvV is it under warranty or expired? looks like cheap tricks by brands to purchase additional warranty plans or buy new mobiles. apple also instead of fixing of bugs and improvements, degrading camera, performance and options more. fed up and sold it. earlier can copy videos and pics from iphone to windows now after transfering few pics not allowing to transfer to local computer. what's the point of having good cameras when you can't transfer it to local system? they want us to purchase mac huh? come one I purchased their product to help me do things not to enhance their profits. apple watch is another big joke. when some brands have battery back upto 3 weeks here in apple we need to recharge battery every day. apple hypocracy and lies. by the way apple is not secure like they advertise. all sensors are working and transfering data every minute.

Even Flip 3 also have the same problem the green and it won't fade away at all so don't buy Flip at all cause they will make you pay for it.

Same here with me ultra note 20 5g. I'm from the Philippines & just had a vertical green line appear after an update a few weeks ago. I think if samsung can't help consumers repair for free then we'll make sure to discourage people from buying their phones. Mine is just more than 2 years old.
The green line seems to be appearing when the phone is around 2 years of age. Seems to have happen to Note 20, S20, S21 and S22 series now.

I would like to know if all these Note 20 Ultra with green lines appearing had a warranty of one year or two years?.
My Note 20 Ultra had a one year warranty in Dubai,And the phone says was made in Indian.And the green line appeared after one year.Now i have one green line and 2 blue lines on my Note20.I believe all these phones with one year warranty has a problem.The only good Samsung phone is with 2 years warranty.I have Note 8 for 5 years now,Never gave me any problem.I bought it with two years warranty.Still working perfectly fine to this day.No screen problem or anything else.
Note 8 does not use the same 120hz OLED as Note 20 Ultra. Just like my S8+, its still working perfectly well.
My Note20 Ultra was purchased with 1 year warranty. We just gotta hang on a while longer. Apparently Samsung India is already changing the screen for free.
Last week I went to Samsung Malaysia and was told that the exchange program has not reached Malaysia yet.
just sold my s23 ultra today because my worries about AMOLED weaknes, purchased it in february, i have s20+ it also have green tint issue and horizontal line, very noticable ant 120hz. its all coming together, almost all phone manufacturer use OLED/AMOLED for their phone from midrange to flagship. i think very sad reality might await us on flagship phone trend.

My S20 ultra just come out the green line few days ago after using since Dec2020, about 2years 4months. Went to Samsung service centre ask to replace screen for rm1160! Disappointed with samsung

there is no roll back option. And it won't fix the greenline as the issue is overheat have degraded the physical connection.
I did see a video whereby in China, they have a laser machine that precisely solder back those connection and the greenline disappears.
Yes, whenever my phone went hot, another line would show, now I know not to update my phone only if I have to

And Samsung is keeping quiet about this. Seems that its beginning to affect S21 series (which has reached..... 2 years old). Last year was the S20 series and Note 20s. Guess this year we are gonna see more and more S21 series having this issue.

Its just another marketing strategies..those update does bring line as overlay display its not hardware its just something the update bring as overlay for marketing strategy
its not an overlay. its definitely hardware related. If its an overlay, the issue would not be solved by changing the screen.
This just happened to me after an update 🤦♂️ phone over heats, wifi disconnects, and also have the green line 😑 this sucks man, so what now? We shouldn't buy Samsung phones with 120hz?
now..... we can only make noise and hopefully the noise is loud enough for Samsung to do something bout it. How about everyone boycotting the S24 series and make them have a record low sales.

Some months ago samsung declared free replacement for only s20 / s20 ultra. But they dont declare anything for n20 ultra. So guys pls complaint again and again so that they took step quickly

Yeah, seems like more S21 series are having this problem now in 2023...... which makes it a 2 years phone......
It happened to my samsung s20 plus so I replaced the screen spent so much money now after a year its happening again with the replacement screen as well
There was a program to replace S20+ screens for free back in 2022. My advice, as long as Samsung does not rectify this is to just abandon their brand and go for other makers.
My S7edge having the same problem , green line vertically appeared on the screen having using it almost 2 years
your s7edge issue is most likely not related to the pattern we observed now since its released in 2016 and the updates probably stopped since 2018/2019.

A lot of videos I watched and comments on the Samsung Malaysia forum said that Samsung Malaysia won't take responsibility and users need to pay to replace the screen ... its like RM1K plus to replace the whole screen .... I also don't know what to do ...... =(
What we can do is spread this video more till it catches some mainstream media attention whom will blow this issue up ..... and then maybe Samsung Malaysia will do something bout it. I heard Samsung India is already replacing the screens for Note20U for free since June.

Happened last month with a perfect S20+. Those Sammy screens are dying much faster than their batteries. I´m over Sammy products. To much money for a crappy engineering project.
It's just happened on my Samsung flip 4. It's only 2 months old
If it happen during warranty, you are in luck. Most of us are out of warranty and Samsung is not acknowledging this as a defect.

Update: I paid a visit to the Samsung Official Service store. Fixed my phone free of charge, changed the screen, and battery.

ive got my "green" line... on my screen. it was purple soon after im bought this phone.. and now after some updates.. it is much worse...the line is 3 times thicker and now it is absolutely unacceptable. Samsung.. is the worst company if they dont know how to fix this problem.

My s10+ screen started flashing whem s21ultra launches
S20+ green lines appeared almost 1 year 1/2 later
S21 ultra pink line appeared recently

@@eyuelelias9403 it cannot be fixed unless I pay $156 usd to change the screen. In the end, I bought the google pixel 6a instead and it is a new one. I will use the samsung s10 till it dies but honestly, the middle line really pisses me off when I look at content. my green line is in the middle of the screen

If you are in Malaysia, Samsung is replacing these screens for free till end March 2024. Just gotta pay RM80 labor at the service center. Make sure there is no physical damage to your phone else they would reject the replacement and you are out RM80.

No, my sister replace screen at Samsung service spend RM1,275 (RM150 battery). Their people said, if you replace battery on next time, you need to pay RM260 instead of RM150.

Time to get it replaced if you are in Malaysia. They are running a campaign to replace these vertical greenline screens till end March 2024. But you will probably be out of a phone for 2 weeks or so. I heard some waited 3 weeks to get their phones back.
I am still waiting for my Note20U to come back then I will make a follow up video.... hopefully.

It happen to all of us. Normal usage and suddenly, the green line of death come visit and refuses to leave.
I got mine last March 26, 2024 doing software update. No to Samsung phones.
I am hoping the newer models like S23 onwards does not have this issue..... only time will tell.

I sure hope that's not the case cause it seems that Samsung phones is developing a reputation for 2 years old phone getting green lines.

That's what I was thinking of as well till I heard IPhones are also having the same issues with their 120hz displays. Just not as talked about as Samsung's. I ended with a S23 Ultra

It is really not fair for s21 ultra user. Samsung dont want to fix this problem like s20 ultra cases. I go to repair shop they tell me that i need to purchase the whole screen and it cost rm1200. Fk Samsung system!
Besides making this video and hoping that the issue goes viral, I have no other idea on how to pressure Samsung to act on this which is clearly not the fault of the users but instead is a manufacturing defect. What high end phone have problems with the screen after around 2 years.
Btw, S20 Ultra users were told to pay for the repair as well. Only S20 plus and S20 users got the limited time free replacement.
Samsung really bad, I ask my sister note20u to use 60Hz to prevent more and more green vertical line happen.

Screen replacement 3 months warranty. I feel like if I spend so much, why not choose iPhone at the beginning with better quality. My sister just love to use their S-pen only.

Same issue I had and customer care was asking for hefty to replace the display. Got rid of Samsung and switched over to other brands. Cheating Samsung lovers
If you are based in Malaysia, you can opt for the free replacement offer that they are offering now till end March 2024. Just gotta pay RM80 for the labor. But make sure there is no physical damage to the phone at all.

@@AcidicSrj What I can tell is that Samsung only did a "courtesy replacement" for the S20 series only. My Note20 had the exact same problem and was rejected. And now I am hearing more and more S21 having this issue but Samsung is turning a blind eye and ear on it.
There was a big commotion by bigger tech youtubers on the S20 series and Samsung had to do the "courtesy replacement". But there isn't any mention from these tech tubers on S21, Note20 and S22 series having the screen issue
So my guess is...... not enough noise to force Samsung to replace it.
I made this video hoping that it will gain some traction and blow up like the bigger tech tubers so that Samsung will be forced to address this issue but I am guessing I am too small a fish to matter.
