  • Cut block layout? Timber cruising? If you are outdoorsy and looking for a job in northern BC, give the Forestry Technician position a try. There are many other duties for a Forestry Technician, but layout and cruising are most likely what you will be doing the most.

    I just applied for a forestry technician aid job, entry level with the US forest service. Really hoping I get the job. Got a lot of experience with heavy equipment, mechanic skills etc. figure I would be a good fit. Looks like a such a great job. I'm really into botany, geology, general ecosystem health. Heck in my spare time I improve local trails and gardens, my own yard and surrounding nature. I can't think of a better job for me.

    The Fifth Estate report. Why wood from B.C. forests is burning to UK Energy needs? It's on TH-cam

    Is the forest industry in B.C., for building homes or Is it being turned into biomass to give WEF Energy in UK?

    • @Hengda
      @Hengda  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question, I don’t have the answer, and I’m also wanting to know more. My understanding for is that B.C. forestry produce many many different products, from dimensional lumber to traditional pulp and paper to none timber forest products and many many many more. I think biomass is one of them.

    • @user-zb1ri9fn3n
      @user-zb1ri9fn3n 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Hengda I've recently seen many videos about Drax Biomass. It's clear cutting whole forests the size of Vancouver. Taking whole logs, leaving the trimmings behind. They claimed to be cleaning up those very same trimmings, saying it's not cost effective. Turning our forests into wood pellets and slow burning them in UK Biomass Energy production. Claiming green energy, 100 years replacement for trees, better than coal. Satellite imagery of B.C. forests is... illuminating. Combined with the increased risk of forest fires...How will we build homes for young Canadian families? Could clear cutting have contributed to the 2021 B.C. flood, causing $17 billion? Rain ran off the hills as if a parking lot. (Atmospheric river)
