    Thank you so much for this! I'm new to the Cricut world (usually using my ScanNCut) and was wanting to create stickers with the white outline. I've been looking at TH-cam for a number of weeks and posting in FB groups to see how we get a white outline using an existing PNG and you've nailed it for me. Thank you, I really appreciate your tutorial and the effort you have gone to to explain it all.

    Amazing i just did it, but I had some trouble doing the same with letters. The design I made had letters too. I managed to get the design really good with your help but the letter same out not so good so I kinda had to saved it and make another one, tbh I don't exactly know how but I managed to do it but it was like the opacity was light, as in glowing. It didn't look that bad but I just left it as it was with the glowing letters. I'm looking forward to look on your channel. I'm a new subscriber, "salads from Puerto Rico"

    • @AwesomeSVGs
      @AwesomeSVGs  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That usually happens when the edges of your image are not smooth. Unfortunately, the only way to fix this, is to manually draw the outline, because Pixlr doesn’t have the smooth selection feature that photoshop has. 😔

THIS is exactly what i needed BUT you run around the software without telling/Showing where you are or how you got there....i opened a png image but it doesnt show the background like yours in the beginning. How did you get there? Is this video assuming one has some knowledge of PS? i have ZERO but im trying to make stickers on my Cricut and need the white outline on some of them. In particular around some text. thanks so much! i am so excited to find your video...i fear i may have to ask my daughter to decipher it for me! Hello!
      On this video, I started out with a transparent background image I created.
      Some images you download or buy on the web may not have a transparent background and when you open them in photoshop, there won’t be a checkered pattern showing behind your image meaning there are some transparent areas.
      Make sure you get transparent background images, these are usually under a .PNG file format. I hope that helps.

    • @AwesomeSVGs

      Some people like me, may have problems drawing around and image using a mouse or a track pad. This method automatically detects the edge of your image thus avoiding the jitter or rough edges you get by doing it manually. If you feel confident drawing it and you do it fast, go ahead! For intricate shapes, though, you might want to automate it.

    Hi, is it possible to add transparent cutting line instead of white? How? Thx

    • @AwesomeSVGs
      @AwesomeSVGs  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nuray Metin the only way I can think of is by creating a vector SVG outline. You see, for design space or any other cutting machine software to recognize a shape, that image perimeter has to be visible and as sharp as possible. I thought maybe you could low the opacity or the outline and being white, you could change the blending mode to multiply to make it disappear, but design space wouldn’t recognize it. In the end white is “transparent” when you print in white paper, so I’m curious to why you would want to create a transparent cutting line. Maybe if you give me more details I’d be able to help. 🤗

    • @nuraymetin4155
      @nuraymetin4155 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome SVGs thank you for your brief explanation. I have tried to decrease the opacity of the white line, but it didn’t work because cricut didn’t see the cutting line. So, it tried to cut the drawing without putting any extra space. I wanted a transparent space especially for my lettering stickers. I found a basic solution for my problem and I want to share with you. The solution is clear matte sticker paper. Even if I add white cutting line on procreate,because the printer doesn’t color white, the xtra space looks like transparent. 👌😊

    • @deni2trini
      @deni2trini 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nuraymetin4155 I have the same question. See I am using clear sticker paper and wanted that clear background look, but I will get the clear matte paper and try! What do you mean your printer does not print white - Do I still add a white border like the video and lower the opacity?

    • @nuraymetin4155
      @nuraymetin4155 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      big benji deni Printers don’t use white ink, they just leave the white areas in the picture you want to print as blank. Because the paper is white, you don’t realize that the whiteness is coming from the ink or the color of the paper which is white. So, if you use clear(transparent) sticker paper, the white outline will look like transparent. (Because your printer doesn’t release white ink.) I hope I can explain it clearly🙈☺️

      Having the same problem and I followed every single step.

    • @prettywings02
      @prettywings02 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Marian Okogwu my daughter helped me to figure it out. I think the problem was because I’m using the newer photoshop cc version. Also it is important to drag the second layer below the first layer. Follow his instructions up until you get to masking.
      1. Press select> edit in quick mask mode. Go back to select > load selection > ok.
      2. Press alt>cmd>R.
      3. Refine edge box will appear, clickon the view button and select overlay V > set the radius to 0 or you can select the smart radius.
      Make smooth 100%, feather 0%, contrast 100%, You can make the edges even more smoother but playing with shift edge toggle but it can be left at 0. Then press OK.
      4. Then select new layer mask and you should get a duplicate mask and it will have the background of your sticker which you can now edit.
      5. Click the eye icon on the second layer (it should now have a grid background). Now you can save your sticker for printing. I do mine in my Cricut so I save it as a png doc.
      I hope it makes sense. Good luck 😉

    I'm kinda new at this, how do you make a PNG transparent. I uploaded from google images, saved it as a JPEG on my desktop, opened Photoshop, opened the JPEG file and saved it as a PNG, went to Design Space and uploaded the image as a PNG and made the background transparent. When I went back to Photoshop and opened the saved PNG image, the background is white...Can someone help me with this, I didn't see in the video where you show how you got that checkered background in Photoshop.

    • @AwesomeSVGs
      @AwesomeSVGs  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The file I use in the tutorial is an already transparent background image. Design space does not allow to store files on your computer, so anything you upload is for use in the cloud only. If you uploaded a file to design space, removed the background and save it, it remains transparent only in design space. Your original file is still a flat image. What you would wanna do is remove the background of the image IN photoshop. That way you can save it to your hard drive and it’ll remain as a transparent background image.
