I'm so glad you fin the content useful. For the foiled stickers you need toner, thus a laser printer. Inkjet printers won't hold the foil, so nope, you can't use them for foiling. You can, however, use inkjet for colored stickers.
Great video! I have been trying to foil on clear sticker paper for some time now (it's the one from online labels). I have the problem that the foil adheres to the complete sheet instead of only the printed parts. I also use the transfer folders for the Minc Machine. I have this problem with my laminator, so I purchased a Minc machine, because I thought that would be the solution because you can choose the amount of heat. But I still have the same problem on the lowest heat setting. Could it be that my Minc machine gets to hot?
It likely means you're using the wrong type of foil. One type has adhesive added to it, so it will adhere easily to anything if you heat it. It's used for 'hot stamping'. The other foiltype is NOT adhesive, and will only stick if you use something with it, like melted toner.
Great video, but I must have missed a step watching the video: If you are using the laser printer to print your images for foiling, why did you mention NOT using Cricut's print then cut? I am confused, because I saw the registration marks on your sheet of sticker paper and you used the cricut to cut the stickers out after foiling them. Could you clear this up for me, I really want to try this. THANK YOU!
I usually bypass Cricut’s Print Then Cut because, being a web based software, image resolution is noticeably lowered, thus affecting the end result of your work, specially with high resolution graphics. I use an alternative method to keep the image original resolution and take advantage of my printer capabilities. Once I print outside design space, I return to it to cut the outlines. Here’s the link to the video that shows you how to do that th-cam.com/video/8Ng2VLFfoUM/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for this tutorial! I have used the Online Labels clear glossy paper, but when I send it through the laminator, it doesn't only stick to the laser ink, it sticks the the whole sheet! Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
I’m not sure what it can be. Id try to clean the sheets thoroughly before and after printing to make sure there aren’t any specks of dust to which the toner could adhere. Sometimes the static can attract loose bits of toner, so try not to rub your sheets with a wool like cloth or against each other thus avoiding static buildup. I tried using an anti static embossing powder tool, but it only made it worse. Using a humidifier in your room can help.

I feel dumb but... how is it laminated when you take it out if you peel off the transfer pouch? I’m confused how it got laminated underneath there. I have purchased paper to print on, foil paper, and am about to buy that pack of transfer sheets and a laminator, and use my local laser printer for the designs. But I feel like I’m missing something because I don’t understand that lamination
My question is how can I make the silhouette of the bear goes bigger so the Cricut doesn’t cut the bear on the edge but to have that little space between the final line of the bear and the place where the Cricut cuts? Help me pleaseeeeeeee!!!!
You can save them for later. Laser toner is basically a plastic that your printer melts on your paper surface, so it is not going away. I would recommend to store them using some kind of tissue paper in between to avoid scratching though.
How does your cricut cut a glossy paper. Because mine doesn’t see the glossy paper. So I have to cover the line with matte tape. But I am exhausted. Is there any setting?
Have you foiled any clear stickers with white foil? I have found it won't work as well as the metallic foils and it is frustrating. I did the same process for both types of foil and the matte white just does not work. Any suggestions? Thank you! :) (All foils used were Heidi Swapp Minc foils, including the white)
I have not tried. But I would try to make the sticker long enough to wrap the candle all the way around and stick onto itself to prevent it from lifting.
Thank you for doing this vid! It’s still very useful! How do I get the boarder around my images? Currently I use photoshop and my boarder is white. Do I have to save 2 files, one with the image and another with the stroke to import as a cut file? Thanks
@@jesshileman Hi there! I am trying to make clear stickers for my company and this video is the closest I could come to tutorial on it. Could you explain changing the no fill in adobe illustrator so that the sticker just cuts the border?
Do you have any issues printing text logos from cricut DS? Mine are coming out pixelated even though I'm using SVG vectors. They print fine outside of DS
Yes, it is inherent to DS interface. Try this method I explain in the video to print outside the DS environment. th-cam.com/video/8Ng2VLFfoUM/w-d-xo.html
Can I use this method on already cut label template? For example, if I'm making circle labels can I buy the clear circle label template and do this same method or does the sheet have to be full page clear stciker? Thanks.
It shouldn’t be a problem. What I do when I buy pre cut sticker paper is print on a sheet of copy paper that is obviously cheaper and then put the sticker paper on top and hold it against a light to see how well they align. That way you don’t waste any expensive labels.
Hi Andrea. These use a laser printer. Toner is what makes the foil stick to the surface, something that can not be achieved with inkjet printers. Good luck.
I know there are other options using foiled vinyl, but the results are not that crisp and it doesn’t give you as much small details as toner does. If you are planning on selling stickers, buying a laser printer is a small investment and you’ll be giving your customers a cool and professional product.
OMG!! YES!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!! BUT JUST ONE ISSUE I'M HAVING.... How in the world did you set the cricut up to cut AROUND your stickers???! What does that process look like?! I can't freaking wait to try this man omg... AWESOME FREAKING VIDEO exactly what I've been searching for!

Thanks for this. Do you get specks where the foil hasn't adhered properly? Also does your Royal Sovereign work 100% to foil cardstock. If so which cardstock do you use? I'm thinking of getting the RS.
