Hi Watts Great Video. I also used your coupon code to order this item this week and just got done putting it in. Great product. However I modified mine and here is why. When you install everything the way as put in the instructions you cause there to be constant tension on the clip that is over the usbc from the bracket. Over time this will cause that housing that is connected to the mother board to come loose and break off. I figured id come on here and post this information. again if u pay attention to that clip you will notice the tension that is put on that clip, eventually this will case that housing that holds this clip to come loose from your motherboard hence ruining the screen. I can send pictures or maybe have my son help me put a video of how we did it to not have anything in the way of the clip. you are not able to use the last cover that is on the screen. The only other way with minimal modification is to not use that clip, which im sure there is some regulation out there that makes that clip very important so that it does not come undone from the mother board or get loose over time, this is the reason i decided to modify my bracket and not use the last piece of plastic that covers the back end of the screen. But to install the usbc with its original clip back onto my mother board. Both my friend and i installed ours this way.
Hi @Bronxxster, thanks for watching and using the code. Glad the video was useful. You should definitely put out a quick video if possible. More people know about it, the better. Thanks again! Cheers.
8:10 every other video put that locking mechanism back on and the companies even sent a replacement clips. It seems like it could vibrate off and that was why it was designed with the clips. Why did you leave it off?
Hi Scott, you are absolutely right. My mistake. I realized after looking it more closely at the connector. That should be put back on the screen side, as well as, secure the pig tail connector to the original car side. TH-cam unfortunately won’t let me change the video. So I’ll make a short part 2 for this in the next few days. Thanks for your insight!
@@TeslaWatts Hi, I had quite a time installing it. A few missteps. The screen was off when connected and I wasn't sure if I had done something wrong. Reset the screen by holding both buttons down for a few seconds and it may take 30+secs but should boot up. I did a bit of back and forth with your video. I wasn't clear how to get the sensor mounted and finally saw the slots and how to use them. I tried to put the connector on but couldn't get the screen to come on. Perhaps didn't wait long enough. I took the connector off and eventually got the screen to come on. I decided to leave the connector off as I wasn't sure it would allow the bottom swivel bracket to fit the slot. I wasn't sure if the video cable goes under the bottom swivel arm or above it as I couldn't tell from the routing. It went under and I wasn't sure it wouldn't clamp down on the video cable. I'm not sure how the video connector plug would come loose because it is pretty tight down there. You really need a second pair of hands to make it easy. It's cold and I was doing it in the garage with flashlights. I had to constantly move them to see . Still worth the time and it does work well. PS: I did same thing in my Model 3 a year ago and it was much easier, or I didn't make the same missteps.
Thanks for watching. What I meant was it’s easier to hide the wire. I draw power from the USB inside the glove compartment. I put a usb splitter in there and have sentry usb stick and get power too. That looks like the easiest to get to from the screen for a cell phone mount.

Wait, I'm confused on the cell phone charger. Does the swivel mount hardware include some tryp of splitter for power to the screen AND a cell phone?
