My first and only motorcycle !!! My brother " borrowed" it on leave from the Navy without asking me..... and wiped out going around a corner... and didn't tell me. The bike was never the same after repairs , so I sold it to another brother.
My buddy just sold this exact bike today. Exact meaning same year and color, condition as well. Got $1750.00 for it. I think worth much more in this condition
I’ve been wondering if this one was getting a video! I saw it in the shop the day of the brew fest. My first bike was a 78 GS1000, so I’ve obviously got a soft spot for the 70s GS bikes. Although, mine had lived a much harder life than that one has... a life that wasn’t helped by me getting “first bike” experience on it! But those things are great, and like you said, “bulletproof”.
My friend has an 1980 GS1000E with 8k miles. I personally owned the blue & white version of the 1986 GSXR750 parked to the side. I traded it for a wheelchair in 1988. No regrets. I hope to visit the museum someday.
On the gs bikes sum times the clutch basket springs go week and rattle not a big problem i have worked on these bikes over the years had 4 of them very good bikes but one of the best bikes i ever had was my suzuki gt750 water cooled i have t500j now i am a old age pensioner now bless averybody
I bought a 78 gs 750 with title for 20 bucks. I got frame motor swingarm shocks carbs aftermarket header. Put 85 be 550 front end wheels from same bike.bought 1000 tank Got arrested one day cop said I'm taking you in for wreckless and 125 in 55 I'm being nice. You going way faster.
I kick myself in the butt, everytime I see one. I had the same bike 40 years ago. But i have it heavily modified with Yoshimura 850 piston kit, stage one cams,29 mm smooth bore carbs , electronic ignition pack, custom cafe seat and paint. Boy do I miss that bike! It was fun to ride.
fastest commercial bike on the market that year. That's what i told the wisconsin state patrol as he handed me a ticket for going 95 mph through the fog,he was behind me for three miles.i didn't hear the siren as i was laying down on the gas tank.TRUE STORY I'M NOT LIEING. LETS GO BRANDON!!
The bike I graduated High School on! Wish I still had it.

Hey John, do you still have the bike? How do you like it?
@@Bellathebear777 somebody stole the bike before i could get it
Identical to my '78. However mine is all OE with the stock air box. I want a luggage and sissy bar for it. Love it has 26K oe miles.
Had a red one. Terrific bike.
The GS 1000S was known as a Wes Cooley replica not a "Terry Vance".

I had one identical to this one. I smoked a KZ1000 on FM 1960

Not so much these but the old enduro videos are priceless!
I thought the 78 had only one front disk up front
No, mine had dual disks which is one reason I chose it over the Honda 750.
Hay its sabertooth
