I had this story for an Oc I created when I kept listening to this song The Oc is called The Shadow Lady and this is her story She used to be a regular human girl who lived in a small town full of abusive adults, who abuse and harm the children for entertainment She was the only person in town who was kind to these poor children, she treated them with kindness and compassion The adults saw this and were disgusted, so during midnight, they went to the woman's house and set it on fire Burning the woman to death in her sleep But her soul did not rest She reformed as a new being A being of darkness and shadow, but she was still the same kind and compassionate girl when she was alive She knows the children deserve a better life, so she went out in the night and led the children away from the town and into new lands, where they can finally be able to be at peace and never suffer anymore Hope you enjoyed dat story Edit: Holy moly I didn't expect a lot of people to like this story I made up XD I'm glad ya'll like it tho!
Welcome my dear. What? It's too dark? Well it's bright enough for me. Come, follow the little candlelight next to me. There. Have a seat. May I ask you a question? Do you know why man feared the darkness? The color that seems to devour all colours that bring life. Well it's because they fear the unknown. They fear what that darkness hides. But you see darkness is a friend. It can help you find peace. Like a fire, darkness is also dangerous and treacherous. But only if you soaked yourself in it for a long time. You can lose yourself in the darkness dear. Ah I'm mumbling, sorry about that. But you see dark is there because there is light. While light shows you the joy, friends, family and loved ones, the darkness hides the opposite. The ones that'll hurt you, despise you, and you dear. Darkness can provide solace when the light showed too much. Too much pain, too much lies, too much of everything that kills you. The darkness protects you from those who harms you but sometimes it gets too comfortable that you don't want to leave. Remember dear I'll always be here. Know that when you are alone in the light, you always have us in the dark

I always found this song to actually not be as creepy as some people think, I always thought this song was about a girl who took innocent children to her ‘forest’ so she could take care of them and shelter them from the bad parts of the world. Then again, I thought The Sanderson Sisters were the good guys in ‘Hocus Pocus’.
I was once a child, didn't know hocus pocus, but came across this song because of my liking for lullabies. Deeply felt thing song. As an almost adult, after years, I listed to this fully once again. Oh goodness how it still resonates, the only difference is I'm not a child anymore.
Bass singer here, I absolutely love this song. It's got a decently fast pace and some of her lower notes in the song really give me a challenge. Even if you don't sing bass, still do sing along with this if you sing at all. It can be a good warmup or something to sing for a bit of practice. I'll probably sing this to mess with some friends tbh but still fun to sing.
This sounds like some kind of spirit that really has a thing for kids and leads them into her territory and keeps them safe from anyone else. Land of enchantment~

The woods of no return Nothing has ever happened before. My town is one of those small towns no one knows of or cares about. It is one of those towns where nothing ever happens. Until now. People are going missing, we don't know why. I didn't think much of it, until my sister didn't come home. I need to find her, my sunshine, my motivation, my life, has been stolen from me. The night it happened I called my friends, sobbing, and screaming for my sister. They tried to calm me but their efforts angered me, so I hung up. The following morning my friends came to my house, wanting to help. They entered my room to find a totally trashed room with me sodding in the middle of it. “Are you-” I cut them off. “We WILL find her! At the cost of my life!” I shrieked and stood up, packing a bag “we search tonight.” I slept until 8 o'clock. That is when we met up, and headed into the woods. We walked, shouting for my sister. Above us ravens protested the noise we were making, trees swayed and danced with the icy wind, and the stars looked upon us as we searched for my beloved sister. My friend were starting to give up, but I wouldn't stop. I couldn't. Suddenly the forest went silent and the wind stopped. I heard an angelic voice that sang: “Come little children I'll take thee away into a land of enchantment. Come little children, the time’s come to play here in my garden of shadows” I couldn't help but follow the voice, as it keeps singing we walk deeper into the woods, until I hear a horrible shrieking noise. Creatures jump out at me and my friends, with pale all white skin, long tongues, and fangs. The trees in this area are adorned with shriveled up, dry dead bodies. That's when I see my sister. A single tear rolls down my face before the horrendous creatures tackle and kill me. The last thing I saw was it's horrible face. Now I hang from a tree the ravens protesting over my body, as I sway and dance with the icy wind, and as the stars watch upon me.
Whenever I think of this song I keep thinking of a guardian angel taking a child to a place in heaven after they died. The place is sadly full of more dead children. The good thing about this though is the child isn't alone in death, and has more children for him to play with. Oh ma gawd I want to make this into a story now. No copying
So basically the original story of Peter Pan. Where he's an death angel and Neverland is the afterlife - which is why they never grow up because they're dead.

You're a ten year old kid who just died from an illness/murdering/suicide etc. A beautiful woman comes up to your floating soul singing this song. You begin to cry wanting a happier life. The wooos instantly put you into a deep slumber where you transition into a heavenly angel. You're now the center of attention in a blank room that soon turns into a child scenery. (School /parks/ice cream/ other kids this age) the woman is back but before you could happily admire your new life it turns into a shadow land of nightmares
When I hear this song, I always envision a lady version of death, but a more benevolent version. A little frightening yes, but kind. She watches over the dead, helping souls cross over, and fiercely guards them from demons and necromancers.

From what is going on in my life right now, to me this song is for people battling depression. Depending on how you read the lyrics. I feel as if this is a lullaby meant to lure you to sleep because it is an escape and so yes, this is my view on the song.
It's a hauntingly beautiful song, but the first time I heard it I could've sworn it was the same woman who did the song in Anastasia, only to see it was a different woman.
This is the voice of someone who sings for the Brony community, this song is for "Princess Luna," as she is a princess of the moon, and would whisk children away to become the "Children of the Night," This song originally was a Edgar Allen Poe poem, eventually made into a song. And popularized by Hocus Pocus, by a witch who sang it to turn children into a trance.

"Childrens are future of every humans but there's an evils that always do Sexual abused, and Childs trafficking that destroy a hopes of childrens and make us see nothing in the future" Sorry for bad grammar, I'm not European and just can 50% of English words
This is actually a very old piece of music. Comes from Medieval Europe, and believe it or not it’s very much “ pagan “ . It’s a pagan lullaby. And before you begin to debate, it didn’t come from Edgar Alan Poe , he took credit for it as his poem gave it life .
*The origin of the song's lyrics are an ongoing debating. The Hal Leonard Corporation and apocryphal sources claim that the lyrics originate from a poem written by Edgar Allan Poe titled "Come Little Children." Poe scholars dispute this claim because no such poem appears in Poe's official omnibus, and the lyrics do not match his style. Brock Walsh confirms the lyrics are original and attributes the confusion to his personal "obsession with him [Poe] as a child."* - From the Wiki

Long ago, a young girl went with her mother to pick berries for her father who was hard at work. But the forest greeted them with a dark, cold silence, the bushes empty. Yet, determined to find the berries, the rascal broke free from Mother’s grasp and vanished into the trees. Mother’s worried cries faded fast as the girl ran on; over vine, and under branch and into the forest deep. Feeling strange eyes upon her, the girl recalled Mother’s scary bedtime tales and her throat became bone dry. Then the Bat Lord appeared! He greeted her warmly and bit his own wing. “Come, child. Quench your thirst,” he said. So she drank the thick, dark blood and smiled with joy. Passing through a graveyard, menacing storm clouds loomed and the air turned bitingly cold. The girl was shivering in her thin clothes. Then a Dark Weaver appeared, and with a click of his fingers, crafted mist into a beautiful dress. “Come, child, warm yourself,” he coaxed. So she clothed herself and smiled with joy. Across waters deep and ominous she went, hoping a boat she found would carry her home. But hunger’s grip tightened and her heart grew heavy. Then the Fish King appeared and offered one of his many fins. “Come, child. Eat your fill.” So the girl ate and smiled with joy once more. Continuing on, she soon entered the forest’s dark heart. Then an Iron Steed appeared, bearing a beautiful, golden gear. The creature said nothing as the girl approached… …and snatched what she thought was another gift. The horse grew angry and summoned the other monsters. Terror filled the girl’s heart as a wild wind rose about the beasts. Suddenly, a witch appeared - dark, yet regal. “Gifts we gave, but more you took,” she snarled. “So more, in turn, is due.” In a blink the girl was trapped inside a mirror. - Resident Evil Village
I know that this was sung in Hocus Pocus, but I feel like the song is about the angel of death singing to sick and injured children who are dying. She's bringing them to her garden of death where they can play and be children forever.
Yeah, me too. The other thing it makes me think of is someone who is convinced that the world is unfit for the pure children, and believes they are helping them by ending their lives...O.O... There are other things as well, but that's the first one that came to mind..
Strangly Epic I like your version, there are so many terrible things that happen to children, they can't defend themselves, all they can do is take the abuse from the people who are supposed to protect them. It really breaks my heart, some of the stories I've read, they'll keep you awake for ever if you can't stop them..
Come little children I’ll take thee away Into a land of enchantment Come little children The times come to play Here in my garden if shadows Follow sweet children I’ll show thee the way Through all the pain and the sorrows Weep not poor children For life is this way Murdering Beauty and passion Hush now dear children It must be this way To weary of life and deception Rest now dear children For soon we’re away Into the calm and the quiet Come little children I’ll take thee away Into a land of enchantment Come little children The times come to play Here in my garden of shadows
Miracle - sephiroth - From what I've heard, it was unfortunately not originally written by Poe but instead heavily inspired by him. For some reason someone decided to start the rumor that it was Poe's own original poem and that a few words were changed in the movie version of the song, resulting in what we hear here. I don't know why someone would spread a rumor like that, but that's what I've read. o v o;;
Wrong It is often incorrectly reported that the song Sarah Sanderson sings from the sky was written by Edgar Allan Poe. It isn't by him, nor does it carry the style or meters he would have used. It was written specifically for the film.
Come little children I'll take thee away Into a land of enchantment Come little children The time's come to play Here in my garden Of magic... For ones too young to remember the Hocus Pocus movie. But this version is actually better. More lyrics.
Robinsky - It always could be, but there’s no accent so I’m guessing not. I think it’s more likely that she just speaks modern English like everyone else and doesn’t use the word “thee” very often.
@@gothicgolos the witch that sings this song is talking to each child individually in some lines, and in others, all the children from that scene. Also, if "thee" is supposed to be directed towards a singular person, why is it used so many times in phrases and sentences that are directed towards multiple people. Ex: "How might all of *thee* be doing on this fine night?", or "All of *thee* are indeed beautiful." (Why do all my examples sound like something a "stereotypical" pirate would say?)

I'm not gonna go on to explain my life to you, since you're obviously not empathetic enough to care, so like... Be more careful with what you tell others, yeah? This song was based on a tall tail that may or may not exist, there was a town with all of these children who were too energetic so the parents didn't know what to do, one day a man came into the town and said he could help with a price, he asked for 10,000 pieces of gold and the town did not have that much money and they had thought he was a scammer so they insisted on him trying, he brought out a flute and played a song that was similar to this one, all of the children calmed down and started to fall asleep, the parents of the town were shocked and the man asked for his money, the town refused because they didn't have that much money, so later at night the man came back and played this song, turns out the flute was to control all of the kids, so all the kids of the town woke up and started to follow him deep in the woods to a big lake, he commanded them to go in the lake, so they did...
Either two things happened, but none knows which happened
1. They had all drowned in the lake
2. In the lake was a portal to another world where all the children can play in peace and they never grow up (*peter pan vibes*)
So yeah I probably ruined the song for ya, go ahead and unlike if you want to -w-"

I had this story for an Oc I created when I kept listening to this song
The Oc is called The Shadow Lady and this is her story
She used to be a regular human girl who lived in a small town full of abusive adults, who abuse and harm the children for entertainment
She was the only person in town who was kind to these poor children, she treated them with kindness and compassion
The adults saw this and were disgusted, so during midnight, they went to the woman's house and set it on fire
Burning the woman to death in her sleep
But her soul did not rest
She reformed as a new being
A being of darkness and shadow, but she was still the same kind and compassionate girl when she was alive
She knows the children deserve a better life, so she went out in the night and led the children away from the town and into new lands, where they can finally be able to be at peace and never suffer anymore
Hope you enjoyed dat story

Anyone here in 2099?
Oh. Ok. Ugh...I left the stove on...bye!

The woods of no return
Nothing has ever happened before.

"Childrens are future of every humans but there's an evils that always do Sexual abused, and Childs trafficking that destroy a hopes of childrens and make us see nothing in the future"
Sorry for bad grammar, I'm not European and just can 50% of English words
This is actually a very old piece of music. Comes from Medieval Europe, and believe it or not it’s very much “ pagan “ . It’s a pagan lullaby. And before you begin to debate, it didn’t come from Edgar Alan Poe , he took credit for it as his poem gave it life .
Rachel G I didn't know this! That's pretty cool!

Eat your fill.”
So the girl ate and smiled with joy once more.
Continuing on, she soon entered the forest’s dark heart.
Then an Iron Steed appeared, bearing a beautiful, golden gear.
The creature said nothing as the girl approached…
…and snatched what she thought was another gift.

Am I the only one that randomly *found* this song?
+Breeze Freeze no
Breeze Freeze Nope :V
Breeze Freeze nope
Breeze Freeze I Dont even know how i found this song, but it is so beautiful, the vocals, instrumentals and everything!
Breeze Freeze i found it randomly too
I know that this was sung in Hocus Pocus, but I feel like the song is about the angel of death singing to sick and injured children who are dying. She's bringing them to her garden of death where they can play and be children forever.
Thats creepy and yet awesome at the same time,
Yeah, me too. The other thing it makes me think of is someone who is convinced that the world is unfit for the pure children, and believes they are helping them by ending their lives...O.O... There are other things as well, but that's the first one that came to mind..
i say its a kidnappers song.... YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY
Strangly Epic
I like your version, there are so many terrible things that happen to children, they can't defend themselves, all they can do is take the abuse from the people who are supposed to protect them. It really breaks my heart, some of the stories I've read, they'll keep you awake for ever if you can't stop them..
I thought the same, accept I thought she might be a spirit that loves children and kills them so that they can play with her in her garden forever.
Come little children
I’ll take thee away
Into a land of enchantment
Come little children
The times come to play
Here in my garden if shadows
Follow sweet children
I’ll show thee the way
Through all the pain and the sorrows
Weep not poor children
For life is this way
Murdering Beauty and passion
Hush now dear children
It must be this way
To weary of life and deception
Rest now dear children
For soon we’re away
Into the calm and the quiet
Come little children
I’ll take thee away
Into a land of enchantment
Come little children
The times come to play
Here in my garden of shadows
u do realize that this is a LYRIC video right?
@@ttmn14 even though this a lyric video, that doesn't mean they can't write this.. You don't need to worry about it.
.....this is a LYRIC video.... theyre on the screen....
Thank you!!!!!👏👏👏👏
Stop spamming, I'm reporting you.
This song helped 3 year old me fall asleep when I was little..
That's probably why I turned out this way..
Turned out how exactly?
guys, this is a poem from Edgar Allan Poe. they used some of it for Hocus Pocus.
Miracle - sephiroth You're awesome for knowing that. 😊
Miracle - sephiroth - From what I've heard, it was unfortunately not originally written by Poe but instead heavily inspired by him. For some reason someone decided to start the rumor that it was Poe's own original poem and that a few words were changed in the movie version of the song, resulting in what we hear here. I don't know why someone would spread a rumor like that, but that's what I've read. o v o;;
It is unfortunate though. I do wish it was a Poe poem, as I really love his work and it definitely suits him.
WOT
Wrong It is often incorrectly reported that the song Sarah Sanderson sings from the sky was written by Edgar Allan Poe. It isn't by him, nor does it carry the style or meters he would have used. It was written specifically for the film.
And while I think this is a great song. It takes me to Hocus pocus.
Me 2
Yep same here
I PUT A SPELL ON YOU
Yeah me too
Same always does.
Come little children
I'll take thee away
Into a land of enchantment
Come little children
The time's come to play
Here in my garden
Of magic...
For ones too young to remember the Hocus Pocus movie. But this version is actually better. More lyrics.
The other verses weren't in the lyrics because the song was WAAAAAAAAAAY too dark
You don't say "thee" to a GROUP of people. It's siingular for "you", not just archaic.
Is English her second language?
Robinsky - It always could be, but there’s no accent so I’m guessing not. I think it’s more likely that she just speaks modern English like everyone else and doesn’t use the word “thee” very often.
I've watched Hocus Pocus before. Good movie. How old is it? Can't be _too_ old, right?
@@gothicgolos the witch that sings this song is talking to each child individually in some lines, and in others, all the children from that scene.
Also, if "thee" is supposed to be directed towards a singular person, why is it used so many times in phrases and sentences that are directed towards multiple people.
Ex: "How might all of *thee* be doing on this fine night?", or "All of *thee* are indeed beautiful."
(Why do all my examples sound like something a "stereotypical" pirate would say?)
My work has been playing this on repeat 😭😭
