    The community has spoken so here it is. This is the full build breakdown video of my 2011 Yamaha Star Stryker. I bought this bike brand new in 2011 and starting modding it before I even got it home. It has made quite the transformation in the past 9 years and today I spill most of the secrets on the good and not so good decisions on the build progress. As of right now it is a completed project...but that doesn't mean we have to stop..right? Be sure to subscribe to see what's next for the channel!

  • @eriickson5058
    @eriickson5058 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is the headlight housing a direct replacement and did you have to make any modifications to make it work?

    • @SignMeUpDesigns
      @SignMeUpDesigns  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s not a direct bolt in. It’s actually an inexpensive eBay light. I don’t love it because it’s plastic but it had the best look for the bike in my opinion. It took some modification to the mount location to make it work and I think I had to invert the bracket. It’s been so long I actually don’t remember. It wasn’t super difficult to make it work.

      @SignMeUpDesigns  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mikeharrison6570 I don’t think you’ll ever find any kits like this ready to go. All of my parts were sourced online for different models and I had to custom fit everything. The rear air used to be a bolt on kit but I believe most companies quit making them after Yamaha discontinued the Stryker model a few years ago. If you watch the video again I explain most of what applications I had to use for this build.

  • @DaleyAdventures
    @DaleyAdventures 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi mate the bike looks unreal I really like it. With the front air would you build and sell the kits??. Also why didn't you run one compressor for front and rear

    • @SignMeUpDesigns
      @SignMeUpDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I’m not really interested in selling kits. Mainly for liability reasons. I definitely could have one compressor to a tank to control front and rear. I actually did it this way on my Sportster build if you look at my other videos. I didn’t do it for this build only because I did the rear in 2012, and the front in 2017. It was just easier. If I had done them both at the same time I most definitely would have used one compressor.

      All in I would say I have a couple hundred bucks into the center stand. In my original design I had it totally bolt on. But it didn’t have much stability and swayed a little so I ended up welding the plate to the frame. It’s super solid now. If I had enough interest I would consider redesigning it and attempting another bolt on version. I kept the template from v1 just in case. Would anyone else reading this be interested?

      I do have an Instagram. It’s @the_brianrogers. I built this bike originally before Instagram was popular (2011) but I’ve documented most of the recent upgrades there as well as all of the other bikes I own and work on. Thanks for the nice words!
