    Sound functions would be a more accurate way to describe them, since, like blueprint or material functions, they're reusable and have their parameters exposed.

    Solid info! Knobs in graph is a game changer. So much easier editing MS patches like this. Feels like knobs are smoother to use than sliders when you have 100+ or so controls out (could be my potato pc) :D

      Well now I have to go crazy and see if we can crash unreal with sliders. Maybe Aaron needs someone to stress test lol

    this kinda reminds of how Niagara works. On one hand you have the Niagara emiter (Metasound) and on the other the Niagara System (Metasound Source).

    Could you please do a breakdown for MetaSound Source for UE5 Lyra build. It's quite extensive and it would be nice to have someone like yourself break it down for customization. Thanks in advance and sub earned.

    Hi is anyone able to help me??? When I go into sounds I only have the option to add MetaSounds and I can't find MetaSound Source anywhere. Is there something I'm missing????

      If you right click in your content browser and go to sounds, you should see MetaSoundSource listed at the very top. You won't find it in the MetaSound folder (not sure why or if this is a change that will come later but I agree it's odd that it's not in there.)

      @@TheSoundFXGuy Yeah thats what I've been trying and the only option it gives me is MetaSound, I can't seem to find MetaSound Source anywhere and I've tried searching it up online and haven't been able to find anything on it.

    I'm having problems with a MetaSound. Basically I have a looping car engine sound, and I wand to spawn attached. but no audio plays if I use attenuation settings on it. If I switch to an audio cue, then the sound plays fine with the attenuation.
    I have no problem using attenuation in non-moving metasounds, but I can get this one to work when spawned attached to an object... any suggestions?

      In both Sound Cues and MetaSounds, you should see an option for "Virtualization Mode" in your details panel. By default, it is set to 'Restart' which is what is causing the issue you're having. In this drop down menu, you should see an option for 'Play when silent'. This will continue to play your loop even when outside of the attenuation radius. Keep in mind, this will continue to use one of your sound voices though and if too many other sounds occur before you re-enter the attenuation sphere, this could cause the loop to start over anyway.

    All I am seeing is just MetaSound, no MetaSound Source. These tutorials at my school are so hard to follow, because things change so often lol! 🤣 Edit: I just missed it lol.

      Sorry for the delayed response. Saw your edit though and I'm glad you found it. You're not the first person to mention that they missed it because they were looking in the "MetaSound" sub folder. I get that putting it in the main Sound directory is suppose to make it easier to access but it would make more sense to me to have it in the same place as MetaSoundSource.
