OM648 First startup in the W123

Just completed the wiring here and tested initial startup. There's no exhaust on it yet so it gets a bit smokey in the garage. Seems like the noise canceling on my phone stopped the engine sound but its running till the end of the video.

Nice work this is definitely inspiring. About to attempt this myself soon I'm going to get the donor chassis in about a week. But I am going to put it in a W211 wagon! Love that manual transmission.

Hey thanks! It’s a GS637DZ from a diesel BMW 1 series. DieselpumpUK makes an adapter kit. How cool would a 6 speed w211 wagon be?
