I have Mere Christianity from CS Lewis that I want to dive in at some point. My favorite quote from his is "Christianity if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important."

C.S. Lewis was a brilliant writer. I started reading Mere Christianity a few months ago and it's so good.
Here's another good quote:
_"The happiness which God designs for His higher creatures is the happiness of being freely, voluntarily united to Him and to each other in an ecstasy of love and delight compared with which the most rapturous love between a man and a woman on this earth is mere milk and water."_
It is a wonderful and challenging read.

I have ordered a few on your list (I got CS Lewis but I got his compilation of classics) and Gods promises one. I’m wondering what your opinion is on reading books that are not exactly biblical or scripturally sound. Like authors like Bob Goff. What do you think? Live your vids. Praying for your ministry 💗💕
Hi Kirby, it was great to see you put an apologetics book in there. I think people who share the gospel need to balance apologetics and preaching. We need to teach the word, but we also need to back up the word with facts. :)
YES AND AMEN!!! It’s so important to love God and His Word, but also prepare a case to defend The Bible’s sound doctrine!

Love Love Lewis! My favorite of his is the Great Divorce, it’s such a good book about why people won’t die to self and let Jesus in.

I hope I'm not too late but the most gorgeous book I've ever read BY FAR is 'the visit' by adrian plass. Its a very thin book which you can read in 30-45 minutes but it'll bring me to tears everytime. Truly beautiful and different from any other book I've ever read!

At 23, I signed a three-book deal with Baker and my first book, Claim Your Crown: Walking in Confidence and Worth as a Daughter of the King, was released at all major book retailers nationwide in Feb! In this tumultuous time, I pray my book speaks life and encourage the world with the message of what it means to persevere and embrace our God-given identities during calamity. I'd seriously recommend anything by Peter Kreeft but especially the Handbook of Christian Apologetics - laid so many fundamental things out clearly for me in a beautiful, witty, concise way.

It is the same with me... I mostly can set aside my emotions and focus on something else but then something will trigger and these emotions, once forgotten, will fall like an avalanche and i will be drowned with sorrow. I like when u said, "How can I honor God with my emotions?"..

I think I'll try the first book, I always wanted to know why worship on Sunday when God never changed the sabbath?
Do it girl! Technically the Sabbath, as observed by the Jews, begins at sundown on fridays until sundown on saturdays because sundown marks the start of a new day and that’s the end of the week :) if anything, that’s the original sabbath! That culture observed and respects that, and I believe we should honor the sabbath, but I also know we are not understanding the law. For me, my Sabbath day is typically Tuesday or Thursday depending on the week and I set aside that time to rest, replenish, and realign with God and not work!! It’s amazing!

you should totally read Praying Women by Shelia Walsh. It was such a good read! A small group at my church actually read it together and met once a week and talked through a chapter and did a study on it!
I read Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis recently, and it was good but not quite what I expected, so I feel like I need a bit of a breather before picking up anything more by him. :) Cold Case Christianity sounds good! Some of my favorite books are Christians sharing their conversion journey - Seeking Allah Finding Jesus by Nabeel Qureshi; Unashamed by Lecrae. I also liked Pagan Christianity? by Frank Viola, which just goes through some traditions in the Church and challenges Christians to understand why we do what we do, and to align our actions with the Bible, not necessarily tradition.
