This soundtrack hits different man. I've been watching Studio Ghibli films since I was a child, and now, as a teenager, just re-watching them is so magical. Nausicaä is one of my favourite animated movies ever. it's just so amazingly produced and the storyline is downright magnificent. She's honestly one of the best heroines created. She's such a great character.

In terms of greatest heroines I put her in second place but that's saying a lot. First place would be Mothra, which is kinda like the spirit animal of Nausicaa in a way.

Best soundtrack ever, it brings me so much nostalgia now after years since I last watched it. I'm just 14, this will stick with me forever.
Nausicaa is great! If you're looking for other anime to watch, other Ghibli movies are easy recommendations. Princess Mononoke would be a good companion piece because it also has environmental themes. If you're looking for something more adult, Perfect Blue and Paprika are great anime movies by Satoshi Kon. A little demented and showing characters caught between different realities (metaphorically).
@@jasonfenton8250 I actually have already watched princess mononke, it's the third anime I've watched. But I haven't watched the other two, so thanks for the suggestions!
Very delicate themes. Reveals the pure spirit of Nausicaa. So easily recognized by all that she met. A fierce foe, but a gentle and giving disposition. With respect for all living things.
Every single thing about this movie from top to bottom is exceptional in every regard. How lucky we are to be able to experience it any time we want to.
listening to this brought me to tears. all the emotions i felt watching nausicaa and hearing this music for the first time came back rushing in so strongly. no other ghibli film means quite so much to me
I had the pleasure of seeing Joe Hisaishi live in Melbourne last year in early March. The moment he started playing the piano from 0:48 onwards, I was brought to tears. It's the first time I've ever been moved by live music before.
Ghibli movies are the best. Each one inspires me to do better in life. This is one of my favorites. The music takes me into a world of strength and courage. It's safe to say, Ghibli is one of the most amazing studios there ever was and ever will be.
This was the first Ghibli film I truly connected with, at only 6 years old I remember sitting at my kitchen counter looking at a tiny tv screen and watching this for the first time. I had been too young to connect to Spirited Away yet, and wasn't ready for Howl's Moving Castle, but I watched this story about a brave and kind princess of a dying world who saved her people and the creatures around her. I was enraptured from the first scene, and remember sobbing by the end. It still is my all time favorite Ghibli movie and brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it, and the song with a little girl singing in the back was practically my own lullaby. Forever will Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind go down as an absolute masterpiece in every way.
@@devilex121 i clearly understand what you mean, this story is one of the saddest and you can feel so much rage when you see the aunt, only by thinking to her, I want to slap her (sorry if there are mistakes, English is not my first language)
There are many great movies, especially Studio Ghibli movies always have their moments. But this movie is truly special, it's ahead of it's time in so many ways.
I adore Nausicaä valley of the wind so beautiful, so ethereal. I love flight and the whole idea of it. This music really calms me down. I love the film and see myself as Nausicaä, I relate to her alot.
i watched a lot of studio ghibli films as a kid but i never got to see this one, im really glad i watched it later on in life, its one my favorite movies and i dont think ill ever get tired of it
Ive watch the film when i was young (yes..shut up) and it was like 12 to 15 years ago but just listen to the piano of the opening to the film just brought back so many memories about this film. Im totally gonna get my hand on it and watch it again cuz its so beautiful.
13:30 is so damn beautiful. My throat tightens everytime I hear it. I looked everywhere in the official soundtrack releases but I can't find the title of that track alone.
I 100% agree. It's together with the Requiem (I think it's the name, the lalala thing) and called "To A Far Away Land " or "Toward the land far away". Best version I found on TH-cam was uploaded by "Ethan Ropp" (don't know if I can post links in here) Edit: It also seems to overlap with "The Days Long Gone "
True power and emotion, fully expressed by the beautifully intense, yet gentle music. It is actually ready to expand and fill the universe of this film. Yet, it is slowly ever-changing, just like the course of the earth. I will always hold this soundtrack dearly in my heart. It's a masterpiece of music.
i love this movie the main character is so awe inspiring and the landscapes so beautiful. The theme really also holds some weight in today's current world. all my friends were like "cool animations bro" made me sad :((
When I was little my dad and I watched a bunch of great movies from studio Ghibli. And now as a teenager I am re-watching them and the movie "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind" is one of my favorites. It has a special place in my heart. And the song from 12:00 -13:00 is my favorite song in the whole movie. So happy and beautiful but for some reason it makes me cry every time I listen to it. Probably because I imagine a little girl singing it and she is so young and innocent she has no clue how harsh the world really is and it makes me feel like a kid again.

Le château dans le ciel et Nausicaa ont la même base en ost c’est fouuu comment j’adore ces ost. Je remercie Joe Hisaishi pour avoir illuminé mon enfance
The weight and beauty of this score and most of Hisaishi's scores for Miyazaki's films are what truly help elevate them from "animated movies" to just great films in general. You get a sense of the gravity of the adult themes the film is trying to get across, but the child-like sense of wonder is never sacrificed. Hisaishi is probably one of the best things to happen to Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. He's the Williams to Miyazki's Spielberg.
The movies of Ghibli and the music of Hisaishi are true art! Together they are like a modern opera about human life and nature! The classical music culture of old Europe together with Japan's Zen-like and Shinto-like close affinity to nature is the best cultural mix I've ever experienced!
Cette oeuvre magnifique de Joe Hisaishi me rappelle les grands poèmes symphoniques des compisiteurs Russes de la fin du 19e siècle: Borodine, Mussorgsky et Rimsky-Korsakov.
I look back at the soundtrack and it was still good as ever as if it was just brand new. Couldn't think of any other better music arrangements other than this one not simply because of the nostalgia it had given me, but of because it was such an impactful film to my life. Back then when I was a child, I would get the tone and the exact melody of 3:47 in my head everyday when I had to go back to school. Even now through my tough years, I still have that same EXACT melody inside my head and had NEVER forgotten the title or the scenes I had seen because it was so much in my interest that I payed attention to everything that was happening in the film. That same melody helped me in so much ways I couldn't imagine whether I didn't think about it or not. Thanks Studio Ghibi, and Miyazaki. And to you too, Hisaishi. Never would have such a good memory without any of these films, creators, art, and concepts.
Overnight homework sounds indeed, first time listening to the soundtrack even though I been watched this movie plenty of times, definitely need to buy.
Even though the intro is supposed to be hopeful, when I hear the piano I think if all my mistakes in my life from love to school. I feel as though i have wasted the time I had been given to accomplish my dreams. I feel as though they are away flying with Nausicaä, while I'm still on the polluted earth that is my failure of a life. Definitely my most favorite movie and manga.
Amongst all studio ghibli films, this has the most touch of what's happening in reality. Hatred, pain, and war are the emotions that govern people which destoys them and the world. Nausicaa teaches us to love our people, friends, fmaily, especially those who live on earth with us, wildfire. We are not ohe only ones who live on earth. Be loving and considerate to them as well. Remember that.
Nausicaä stays the biggest icon of ghibli and the track "The Legend of the Wind" makes me forget that there are other ghibli movies it is truly magical
Sensationnelle. 👏😍❤️❤️❤️
I just found this in netflix and watched it and this always pops up in my head once a month and this time I forgot the movies name so I literally searched up "yellow flowers, ohms and lalala" and it showed up lmao I'm sooooo glad to have found this hehe
I love the Nausicaä movie, although it wasn't the first Studio Ghibli film I ever saw (Spirited Away was, and it attracted me to the studio for how it managed to surprise me and avoid tired old Western clichés). If anyone listening to this hasn't ever seen the movie, I'd recommend it. It's not really suitable for very young children, but kids aged 8+ should be able to at least get the strong environmental message woven into the story (although you aren't beaten over the head with the message, another thing which I like about Ghibli when compared to Western films). It always "gets" to me when I hear that silly-sounding "lah, la-la-la-la-lah-lah" because I know the scenes which it goes with. The first time we hear it, an Ohmu (giant insect, in the background in this video) is obviously communicating telepathically with Nausicaä, then the second time we hear it, we get to see the memory which the Ohmu saw, which means that the third time we hear it, we can understand why the scene it accompanies is happening. The old saying "one good turn deserves another" applies, in spades.
This music is really awesome, filling me with a bunch of great emotions. Thank you, master Hisaishi. The little girl's voice is also really perfect, while watching the movie.

I know it’s been2 years but I’m 16 and I grew up watching these films as well because my dad watched one to see if it was fine for kids and bought all of them. I’m so extremely grateful and got to see joe hisaishi in person in New York this summer. You HAVE to see him because it is an experience you will never forget. It was beautiful and every single person in the building was crying. It’s awesome seeing others who can relate to growing up with these movies
I find myself coming back to this recording quite often. Truly masterful work from Joe Hisaishi.
You know what? This is the very first anime I have ever watched. Best start ever, and it got me on the track of being downright obsessed with it. I have the manga, watched the anime so many times. Best soundtrack ever, it brings me so much nostalgia now after years since I last watched it. I'm just 14, this will stick with me forever.
it was my first anime too, I completely understand you. I've already watched it so many times and every time I love it even more
This is the movie that I'll bring to my grave
Nausicaa is great! If you're looking for other anime to watch, other Ghibli movies are easy recommendations. Princess Mononoke would be a good companion piece because it also has environmental themes.
If you're looking for something more adult, Perfect Blue and Paprika are great anime movies by Satoshi Kon. A little demented and showing characters caught between different realities (metaphorically).
@@jasonfenton8250 I actually have already watched princess mononke, it's the third anime I've watched. But I haven't watched the other two, so thanks for the suggestions!
This movie was made same year i was. So happy for that. Also one of the first anime i saw
Very delicate themes. Reveals the pure spirit of Nausicaa. So easily recognized by all that she met. A fierce foe, but a gentle and giving disposition. With respect for all living things.
Every single thing about this movie from top to bottom is exceptional in every regard. How lucky we are to be able to experience it any time we want to.
listening to this brought me to tears. all the emotions i felt watching nausicaa and hearing this music for the first time came back rushing in so strongly. no other ghibli film means quite so much to me
7:45 - 8:15 This transition has such a wonderful sense of movement.
That opening strikes me with chills every time.
This music takes me to a different world
I had the pleasure of seeing Joe Hisaishi live in Melbourne last year in early March. The moment he started playing the piano from 0:48 onwards, I was brought to tears. It's the first time I've ever been moved by live music before.
Storia meravigliosa, musiche straordinarie. Una vera opera d’arte
Ghibli movies are the best. Each one inspires me to do better in life. This is one of my favorites. The music takes me into a world of strength and courage. It's safe to say, Ghibli is one of the most amazing studios there ever was and ever will be.
This music is embedded into my soul
I think you speak for all of us
This was the first Ghibli film I truly connected with, at only 6 years old I remember sitting at my kitchen counter looking at a tiny tv screen and watching this for the first time. Forever will Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind go down as an absolute masterpiece in every way.
this does bring a tear to my eye. the only movie i have ever cried over. this is the greatest film of all time.
oh it definitely moved me but i bawled like a baby over grave of the fireflies, now THAT's a movie that will make you cry
@@devilex121 When Marnie was There just hits home for me, I cried more than when watching Grave of the Fireflies
Hisaishi's creativity is mind blowing.
im sitting in my place but my heart is flying with prcess naussica
I felt that 💯
That opening is hauntingly beautiful. Such a great intro to the piano parts.
Every single song on this track is impactful
Amazing how the music can bring everything back. This movie is so powerful. Miyazaki is legend.
7:56 the best part I adore
It's mine too. Its name is " Battle between Moeve and Corvette " and you can find it here. th-cam.com/video/wXInZvwVrPE/w-d-xo.html
This is the chasing part, correct?
Same. So exciting
Best part for sure

The feelings... I still cry listening to it... It's been so many years...
I adore Nausicaä valley of the wind so beautiful, so ethereal. I love flight and the whole idea of it. This music really calms me down. I love the film and see myself as Nausicaä, I relate to her alot.
Miyazaki, Joe and Ghibli’s animations are so gentle beautiful sad happy and healing somethings. Thanks all.
i watched a lot of studio ghibli films as a kid but i never got to see this one, im really glad i watched it later on in life, its one my favorite movies and i dont think ill ever get tired of it
Nausicaa is one of my favorite studio Ghibli films. This soundtrack is so peaceful.
You can't even describe Joe hisashi's music! The main theme makes me cry because it's outstanding and way too emotional 😭♥️
Ive watch the film when i was young (yes..shut up) and it was like 12 to 15 years ago but just listen to the piano of the opening to the film just brought back so many memories about this film. Im totally gonna get my hand on it and watch it again cuz its so beautiful.
I'm not religious but this music feeds something inside me like warmth from the sun followed by that gentle cooling breeze.
Best version I found on TH-cam was uploaded by "Ethan Ropp" (don't know if I can post links in here)
Edit: It also seems to overlap with "The Days Long Gone "
@@aka.Kosmos77 dude, thank you so much! I'll look it up immediately!
True power and emotion, fully expressed by the beautifully intense, yet gentle music. It is actually ready to expand and fill the universe of this film. Yet, it is slowly ever-changing, just like the course of the earth. I will always hold this soundtrack dearly in my heart. It's a masterpiece of music.
this shit makes me cry i grew up watching nausicaa and shes still my favorite person in the world
Ghibli studio films are the ones that leave me with best memories...
These shimmering melodies make my heart ache for a world that I would hate to be real
14:31 and onward always gives me chills in the best way possible.
ナウシカが宮崎アニメで一番好き。

Amazing 🤩
i love this movie the main character is so awe inspiring and the landscapes so beautiful.
Probably because I imagine a little girl singing it and she is so young and innocent she has no clue how harsh the world really is and it makes me feel like a kid again.
these movies are great ways to filter out friends that have heart or just hardons
For crying out loud!... so beautiful!
the first music sounds like your adveturing in a classic pixel rpg. It gives me nostalgia like playing a game I've played long time ago

A plane! :o
This is legit the most beautiful movie I've ever seen, wonderful characters, cultures, creatures, a story like this makes you wish humanity could change before it's too late
probably my favorite movie ever. i love this so much.
years later i still come back to this. i love listening to this while imagining the comic book canon sequences of this story in ghiblis classical and more technologically advanced animation style is just *chefs kiss*
The live concerts by Hisashi are a must watch. It shows that his music is much more than a soundtrack.
I get chills listening to this every time!!!
I have same pfp as you but on dc lol
Cette oeuvre magnifique de Joe Hisaishi me rappelle les grands poèmes symphoniques des compisiteurs Russes de la fin du 19e siècle: Borodine, Mussorgsky et Rimsky-Korsakov.
J'avous
Idk... reminds me of Ravel.
Agreed. I can't imagine a better musical director for Studio Ghibli, it brings me so much happiness that they've never gotten rid of him.
Jesus, this is a masterpiece, all the feelings this makes you feel are just, beatiful and awesome. I love you Studios Ghibli thanks for exist.
Just watched this again the other day. Such an amazing, awe inspiring movie. So many emotions. The manga is just too sad :(
Overnight homework sounds indeed, first time listening to the soundtrack even though I been watched this movie plenty of times, definitely need to buy.
I cry every time I listen to this mastepiece. Such beauty, delicacy and art!
What are your dreams?
Joe and hayao really, REALLY make one of the best teams in movie history. Both of them are made for each other
Amongst all studio ghibli films, this has the most touch of what's happening in reality.
5:41 This part lead me to discover Handel's Harpsichord in D minor arrangement.
Sarabande sir.
Blitzkrieg Wolf SAME
Thank you! I've been searching for the name of that piece for ages!!
Si, lo sabía pero había olvidado el nombre, gracias hermano
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind is perfect movie and Hayao Miyazaki is perfect creator. Love this movie. Studio Ghibli is breathtaking and epic!
I can't stop listening to this
The Best music with nothing extra, no electronics, no lies, just great composing and great music...
Sensationnelle. 👏😍❤️❤️❤️
ive read the manga while the soundtrack was playing
oooh good idea i'm going to do that :3
Doing this right now reading the final chapters. It's amazing.

@@juanista4170 how different is it from the movie?
This is the best music I've ever heard. It's in my heart forever. I feel like my soul is glowing.
I just found this in netflix and watched it and this always pops up in my head once a month and this time I forgot the movies name so I literally searched up "yellow flowers, ohms and lalala" and it showed up lmao I'm sooooo glad to have found this hehe
191 people may have not seen the actual movie.....how else could you dislike this....
Beautiful sunrise…
Still my favourite Ghibli film. This OST just gives me pure goosebumps. Love it, love it, love it!
1984! thats when this was released! That alone is incredible. This is an absolute Masterpiece. Remember,.1984!
Maybe the best start for a film animation company in the History
I have been looking into this since it was deleted on Spotify! This was my comfort music when creating something. What a Masterpiece!
This is my favourite film of studio ghibli.
I've heard this music for the first time in 25 years. I got immediate flashbacks of this film and tears. How could I forget...
This music is really awesome, filling me with a bunch of great emotions. Thank you, master Hisaishi.
The little girl's voice is also really perfect, while watching the movie.
Hey, if you liked the movie, go read the manga. Its like the movie but 10x better. Maybe more. The movie is only the first volume of the manga, in reality it continues and goes way deeper. You can read it for free on the site Japscan. Its a life changing experience.
