I have been following this project. Im glad you did this interview since i feel that it's hard to describe the use cases for it. I hope Drift can find a foothold and go on to make lots of cool stuff.
I do love to dj with NI Traktor using the Elektron Digitakt as a Midi Synced USB audio interface. That way I have all Digitakt tracks for live performing. Oh, but I like small devices. :)
I’ve been wanting something like this and it’s surprisingly hard to find something small and simple that is ideal for syncing backing tracks to sequencers and samplers. As of now the best way I’ve got to do this is with the M8. I’m not sure if I could justify the cost of this for my use case, but it’s a neat little device!
Does a digitakt sort of do this …. I’m sure it changed the sounds of my korg monologue yesterday, I had it connected to a tr6s as well with din pin .. or was I Trippn
Great idea, amazing product, but it costs as much as a big and fully functional dj controller and all the buttons have the same colour as the background and no lights saying they are pressed or not,to dark to dj with!!!!
Pretty cool for a live performance but for a simple dj-set, not having a quick way to control deck 1 and deck 2 eqs at the same time (you would have to constantly click a button to switch from one to another) removes fluidity from mixing
i mean, that's what a mixer is for. snag a used volca mix for $100 and call it a day. they didn't have to add a second deck option at all and forced us to buy two and a mixer but this is still very well thought out, still might get 2 and run 4 channels
It’s easy to throw down the big O word as a potential end user, just because some mass manufacturers out there demonstrate how to push prices lower. But too low pricing for bringing your niche, first hardware product to market, in lower quantities and brand new contracts with suppliers and manufacturers etc - will risk breaking your new company from day 1. It’s financially very risky to pursue making hardware music gear.
Believe it or not, I ended up with 5 Pacemaker devices... and installed flash memory in a couple of them. I still love messing about DJing on them at our cabin. Oh yeah, and I have put down a deposit for one of these!
Somebody needed to make a product like this
I can’t believe that pro Dj gear is missing clock!!
This little box is genius
Even on old Pioneer djm like 900 or 800 there is midi out.
DJ controllers are midi controllers
DJ software will recognize any connected midi device and can send midi clock info to it
This is really cool. It’s the whole stem playing portion of the Kaoss Replay in a smaller more focused box!
Cuckoo getting that back alley or food truck access to new gear, lol.

Amazing box with endless potential beyond just dj’ing ❤
I am glad i pre ordered this thing. I started as a dj and got addicted to battery powered grooveboxes. This is perfect for me.
Finally! This looks perfect… almost. No way I could read that thing in the dark! I’ll need a white one :)
This is a great idea. I remember this in one of its former forms. Pretty sweet
i love this idea. we NEED this!
Been looking for something like this! Thanks Cuckoo :)
Yeah it's a device we were missing since the beginning of mobile synthing :)

Bruh you should have a sample slicer in this too and it would be perfect. Already preordered but need it

I have a monster go dj doesn't have clock connectivity though. This is cool.

that's actually a good demo beat there
Oh wow this looks awesome!

i got a numark mixstream pro for $50 less and it's fully standalone / no laptop needed. same dj os software as the big $4k systems have
Can you can pair it with midi controllers and assign controls for eq, fx and stuff?
Yes
Does it automatically handle latency when going out and back in to/from hardware?
I wonder if anybody even remember a device released in 2008 by Swedish company Tonium (a couple of young guys by the way…) called Pacemaker?
i memba! wanted one so bad even recently. but looks to be unreliable even with fan-made firmware?
Bluetooth capable?
Amazing. It works using batteries?
Yes there is an internal

I assume it has midi? Or it will? Don't quote me. You could hypothetically use it with midi knobs.
It has midi capability, they showed it before being connected to the music thing 8mu
It’s small Octatrack :D
yes this yes this yes this
Amazing 😮😮😮
Nice
❤️❤️❤️
Cool Shiz!
Oh yes. I'm in.
Modular, you say?? More SFX please, Cuckoo.
It’s awesome but tiny we need a pro size
At last.
can it do stem separation?
No
take my wallet
Black case with black potmeters/encoders = not useful on stage and in any dark environment.
they also plan light grey version:)
Plus presenting it on black background is not helpful :D Really cool device though!
right. I'd just put some stickers on it
LAME WHACK
Its a great synth but its overpriced. In my opinion.

@@truecuckoo you right. My bad. ❤️🙏
its like a tonium pacemaker and that failed pretty terribly and is now just an app....
The app has ceased to exist as well unfortunately. I used to love it and had bought all its extensions. Real shame.
@@jochemcasier6974 ah i didnt realise that. What a shame. It was such a fun idea
@@Jarg-d6l The blame is with Spotify really, who stopped supporting dj-applications, taking out the main appeal the app had.

@@nondoctor I wish I could get my hands on a pacemaker 🙃 Such a unique device
