Hiya! I'd stop counting the passengers. You'll drive yourself nuts. Great you were there on the first day. Also great Derry had 3 big jets in at the same time. I bet it's been a while since that happened. If EDI flights result in GLA ones ceasing, I'll not be pleased. I flew to LDY last year from GLA, but the planes are so wee it won't kill either LDY or GLA. And I'm not a fan of Loganair anyway at the moment - too many withdrawls of service. So no doubt you can count GLA-LDY out soon. Good luck to the new easyJet routes. Good luck to LDY generally and to you too! I've subscribed!
@@andrewmcilwraith1997 aw thanks, and no ahahaha I count the passengers from the seat selections 2 hours before a flight on the websites I don’t zoom it to count because that would be effort 😂, especially with the larger passenger loads! And yes I think in time the Edinburgh will be more full, just today it was a monday just after the midterm aswell so not many on it, Friday this week seems much fuller which is good! Regarding our GLA, ye the planes small but we flew 15,855 on our Glasgow route last year so people still wanna go and use the route so ye we will just have to see! Thanks for subscribing 😂
@@thewestspotter5050 I've never heard of anyone checking the occupancy that way. Great idea! But having started doing that you will never be able to stop...just to check in now and then...just to keep an eye on things....!
@@kmk741 AhahHa I am but I’ve been climbing that gate since I was 8 and there’s no obstructions so it’s awesome 😂 I just use a wee Panasonic camcorder! Does great
@@xijiayu so ye it was empty, but it was started on a monday, not the best day, but it was the first one so not much general knowledge of the route yet, the passenger numbers for Fridays flight look a lot busier, and their adding a 3rd flight on a Thursday for December Xmas
@ oh there is demand! Ryanair operated Liverpool from 2006-2020 and flew up to 70,000 passengers a year on the route, Ryanair operated Edinburgh 2018-2020 and flew 75,000 a year on the route, so history shows the route has done amazing, the airport has just been recovering from massive debt and loses since covid-19
The ground staff have never been so busy ,hope it stays that way.
I seen the 737 EI-EVH just flying over springtown road, Derry last night

@@LeakAviation no way class! So cool you were on the first one

I was on the the one to EDI i think i seen you in a red track suit lol
@@topbinsthomas. ahaha I was in a Derry jersey and orange ski pants! 😂🧡🍊 had to be done for the inaugural
The load from EDI wasn't good, hope the route can survive, but with two flights weekly, it is hardly attractive

I am interested as to how airlines gauge demand for new routes. If they've launched it they must be confident that there is some sort of demand.

Its Londonderry !
No such thing as Londonderry Airport.. you can argue about the county's name, but the airport is City of Derry
