SWAMIJI SAID - THIS IS JUST A PHOTO IN A PAPER -THERE IS NO BODY - BLOOD OR SOUL IN THIS PICTURE -
BECAUSE IN THIS PICTURE YOU SEE the essence of his character in this picture -- you find it disrespectful spitting in the picture
Swamiji further said - in one way you are in this picture and on another way you are not
Your workers and fellow friends give the same respect to the picture as they do to you...
This is the same for those devotees who pray in front of image or murti -- The murti brings the essence of God in their mind and heart
And this allows the individual to focus and concentrate on God
In reality they are not worshiping the stone of the material
In reality it is the mind which digests the outside material world through the senses and to the mind the murti will always be an inert statue -- But by meditating on the God himself we start to look into the deity through a different lens through the eyes of the heart..
We all pray to the same God -- someone calls His Krishna some Allah some Jesus.. It's our faith and belief that creates the imagination of God in our mind and heart.
Rama --- Krishna -- victory over the evil
Jesus - Let the killers live in peace and forgive them
Religion and belief are something very personal - pray to God silently with full faith. No need to advertise that this is my God and He is superior - A fool can only say this.. Blaming other religions - putting one's own religion above others is wrong - trying to convert someone -- do you think u can please that all mighty going all these. No.... When you consider or believe that my God is stronger and more powerful than his God it means your family has never taught you anything about God. Your entire family is blind and that creates confusion which leads to destruction
In reality we all pray to the same Power - known as PARAMATMA --the most pure and loving without boundaries
