- Aafreen Rehman was sent her instant triple talaq (divorce) through a speed post in 2016. She decided to fight this draconian law and became one of the first petitioners in a landmark lawsuit that eventually got the Supreme Court to ban instant Tripe Talaq in India & moved the Government of India to bring a law against instant triple talaq. In her bold TEDxJaipur talk, she shares her personal story of the fight against this injustice and how every woman must empower herself to show up.

On 30 July 2019, Parliament of India declared the practice of Triple Talaq as illegal, unconstitutional and made it punishable act from 1 August 2019 which is deemed to be in effect from 19 September 2018.
Kudos to India for standing up for womens’s rights.

Surat No 2 : Ayat No 227
وَ اِنۡ عَزَمُوا الطَّلَاقَ فَاِنَّ اللّٰہَ سَمِیۡعٌ عَلِیۡمٌ ﴿۲۲۷﴾
And if they decide on divorce - then indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing.
Surat No 2 : Ayat No 228
وَ الۡمُطَلَّقٰتُ یَتَرَبَّصۡنَ بِاَنۡفُسِہِنَّ ثَلٰثَۃَ قُرُوۡٓءٍ ؕ وَ لَا یَحِلُّ لَہُنَّ اَنۡ یَّکۡتُمۡنَ مَا خَلَقَ اللّٰہُ فِیۡۤ اَرۡحَامِہِنَّ اِنۡ کُنَّ یُؤۡمِنَّ بِاللّٰہِ وَ الۡیَوۡمِ الۡاٰخِرِ ؕ وَ بُعُوۡلَتُہُنَّ اَحَقُّ بِرَدِّہِنَّ فِیۡ ذٰلِکَ اِنۡ اَرَادُوۡۤا اِصۡلَاحًا ؕ وَ لَہُنَّ مِثۡلُ الَّذِیۡ عَلَیۡہِنَّ بِالۡمَعۡرُوۡفِ ۪ وَ لِلرِّجَالِ عَلَیۡہِنَّ دَرَجَۃٌ ؕ وَ اللّٰہُ عَزِیۡزٌ حَکِیۡمٌ ﴿۲۲۸﴾٪ 12
Divorced women remain in waiting for three periods, and it is not lawful for them to conceal what Allah has created in their wombs if they believe in Allah and the Last Day. And their husbands have more right to take them back in this [period] if they want reconciliation. And due to the wives is similar to what is expected of them, according to what is reasonable. But the men have a degree over them [in responsibility and authority]. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.

Surat No 2 : Ayat No 229
اَلطَّلَاقُ مَرَّتٰنِ۪ فَاِمۡسَاکٌۢ بِمَعۡرُوۡفٍ اَوۡ تَسۡرِیۡحٌۢ بِاِحۡسَانٍ ؕ وَ لَا یَحِلُّ لَکُمۡ اَنۡ تَاۡخُذُوۡا مِمَّاۤ اٰتَیۡتُمُوۡہُنَّ شَیۡئًا اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ یَّخَافَاۤ اَلَّا یُقِیۡمَا حُدُوۡدَ اللّٰہِ ؕ فَاِنۡ خِفۡتُمۡ اَلَّا یُقِیۡمَا حُدُوۡدَ اللّٰہِ ۙ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَیۡہِمَا فِیۡمَا افۡتَدَتۡ بِہٖ ؕ تِلۡکَ حُدُوۡدُ اللّٰہِ فَلَا تَعۡتَدُوۡہَا ۚ وَ مَنۡ یَّتَعَدَّ حُدُوۡدَ اللّٰہِ فَاُولٰٓئِکَ ہُمُ الظّٰلِمُوۡنَ ﴿۲۲۹﴾
Divorce is twice. Then, either keep [her] in an acceptable manner or release [her] with good treatment. And it is not lawful for you to take anything of what you have given them unless both fear that they will not be able to keep [within] the limits of Allah . But if you fear that they will not keep [within] the limits of Allah , then there is no blame upon either of them concerning that by which she ransoms herself. These are the limits of Allah , so do not transgress them. And whoever transgresses the limits of Allah - it is those who are the wrongdoers.
Surat No 2 : Ayat No 230
فَاِنۡ طَلَّقَہَا فَلَا تَحِلُّ لَہٗ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدُ حَتّٰی تَنۡکِحَ زَوۡجًا غَیۡرَہٗ ؕ فَاِنۡ طَلَّقَہَا فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَیۡہِمَاۤ اَنۡ یَّتَرَاجَعَاۤ اِنۡ ظَنَّاۤ اَنۡ یُّقِیۡمَا حُدُوۡدَ اللّٰہِ ؕ وَ تِلۡکَ حُدُوۡدُ اللّٰہِ یُبَیِّنُہَا لِقَوۡمٍ یَّعۡلَمُوۡنَ ﴿۲۳۰﴾
And if he has divorced her [for the third time], then she is not lawful to him afterward until [after] she marries a husband other than him. And if the latter husband divorces her [or dies], there is no blame upon the woman and her former husband for returning to each other if they think that they can keep [within] the limits of Allah . These are the limits of Allah , which He makes clear to a people who know.
Surat No 2 : Ayat No 231
وَ اِذَا طَلَّقۡتُمُ النِّسَآءَ فَبَلَغۡنَ اَجَلَہُنَّ فَاَمۡسِکُوۡہُنَّ بِمَعۡرُوۡفٍ اَوۡ سَرِّحُوۡہُنَّ بِمَعۡرُوۡفٍ ۪ وَ لَا تُمۡسِکُوۡہُنَّ ضِرَارًا لِّتَعۡتَدُوۡا ۚ وَ مَنۡ یَّفۡعَلۡ ذٰلِکَ فَقَدۡ ظَلَمَ نَفۡسَہٗ ؕ وَ لَا تَتَّخِذُوۡۤا اٰیٰتِ اللّٰہِ ہُزُوًا ۫ وَّ اذۡکُرُوۡا نِعۡمَتَ اللّٰہِ عَلَیۡکُمۡ وَ مَاۤ اَنۡزَلَ عَلَیۡکُمۡ مِّنَ الۡکِتٰبِ وَ الۡحِکۡمَۃِ یَعِظُکُمۡ بِہٖ ؕ وَ اتَّقُوا اللّٰہَ وَ اعۡلَمُوۡۤا اَنَّ اللّٰہَ بِکُلِّ شَیۡءٍ عَلِیۡمٌ ﴿۲۳۱﴾٪ ؓ 13
And when you divorce women and they have [nearly] fulfilled their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or release them according to acceptable terms, and do not keep them, intending harm, to transgress [against them]. And whoever does that has certainly wronged himself. And do not take the verses of Allah in jest. And remember the favor of Allah upon you and what has been revealed to you of the Book and wisdom by which He instructs you. And fear Allah and know that Allah is Knowing of all things.

Sheerin Naaz...ur tragic divorce and it's affect on ur psyche realy touched my heart Talaq according to hadith is most undesirable among halal things there r lot of social formalities to meet between 1st. To 3rd talaq reconciliation frm parents society elders and husbnd wife islam doesn't want fitna in society so divorce brings great dents in society some Muslim scholars treat 3 talaq as one but da fact is that it should b used in a very careful manner

This procedure of talaq is not valid in Islam. You can divorce your wife over a period of 3 months (and that includes 2 chances of reconciliation) . Divorce won't occur even if you say talaq a thousand times at a time.

At the time of Prophet s.w.w there was a rule that after each divorce women has to stay at home with husbnd. At that time ppl used to say so many divorces at a time and Prophet Muhammad s.w.w stop ppl doing that. Instead do it one at a time. But after Muhammad s.w.w death at the time of Hazret Umer r.z. ppl started doing that again. Like giving 10 divorces or 20 divorcese out of anger. After that Hazrer Umer r.a. made a rule that if any man is going to divorce her wife three times at a time it will b applicable as it is. So now a days Ulmas agree on both. Ppl who wants to follow Prophet Muhammad's way follow that and ppl who wants to follow Hazret Umer's ways follow that.

In islam one talaq i.e talaq e ahsan is the bestest way to give talaq in which husband pronounce one talaq which is revivable and then he abstain himself from wife's comapny for 1 month and if they dont resume marriage in this one month it become absolute..i mean talaq become absolute...so here even one talaq can be absolute talaq...mean. Even after one talaq it is talaq only....after this one talaq whether u pronounce talq three time or tem times or hundred time it doesn't matter...talq has already become absolute in one talaq only.....dats y people start using this instant triple talaq...

Islam does not ALLOW triple talaq all at once...hence the Iddat period. Quran does not allow any man to simply pronounce 'talaq, talaq, talaq' and it is over and done with. Strictly speaking, talaq is a very difficult process of one goes by the guidance of the Quran. But now a days, it's like the high speed interner....'talaq, talaq, talaq'.

He blackmailed me into Khula just so that he could end the relationship faster and get married to his new girlfriend. We were in a 15 year relationship and I have a little one. I too lost my mother in my arms and the very same day, my entire world fell apart. I was allowed to stay in my mother's house, but never had or have the emotional or moral support from my father and younger brother. Triple talaaq on single day is considered 1 talaaq and wait for reconciliation in iddat period of around 3 months ... if not happy then the women may leave the house. But these days women is first tortured enough to leave the house and talaaq comes to family on letter ... this is not islamic concept at all.
Islam provides safety to woman by providing 3 chances to reconcile.

I was physically mentally verbally and financially abused by my inlwas for 6 years. My husband was somehow manipulated everytime to think i was the wrong one. I was given triple talaq by my husband. I knoe this dear. How i have gathered my self after that phase.

I also have faced this situation and i was 21 and I was crying in bathroom when I got divorced I was broken and happy at the same time it was like freed from long journey of suffering

How can you judge and say she is doing this for money? It couldn’t have been easy, it took a lot of courage. She was making a point, a change, not so she could remain in a toxic relationship. Men who don’t have real understanding of Islam give Triple Talaq
Talaq is not a simple decision ,
It has to be taken with lots of consideration
Husband can give one Talaq and a Chance is given to the marriage
Similarly two such chances are given for reconciliation and then the final decision of Talaq is taken
This is just an example of ignorance which is unfortunately very common
