Yeah the last time I remember in 2019 I thought for sure they would release it on that year, but it was held back for further improvement on the designs etc. So I wouldn't be surprise if it takes years to develop Freedom Planet 3 especially if they plan to add new content. Unless they can gather more people to be involve in the project, they will take the time they need to polish the game in the future.

I've done the true final boss as all of them. Aside from slight changes in the cutscene where they're talking to Merga before Syntax takes over Bakunawa and their respective exclusive ending cutscenes (which play in their regular ending), nothing really changes.
I imagine that Lilac is Half Water Dragon and Half Earth Dragon, even she looks like an Earth Dragon, she looks like Merga's friend, Merga being a full Water Dragon doesn't look like Lilac at all
She's half-something, it's been confirmed that she's a half-blood dragon. Also fun fact: Lilac actually does have the ear-fins Merga has, but they're covered up by her ear pieces (she has hearing difficulties, so they're basically hearing aids.)
There were many sentient species in the sea but they were all branded "water dragons" by earth dragon colonizers. It could be that Lilac and Merga are two different species of "water dragons".
On the parusa hub area the building you go inside where you find the audio logs of cordilla it shows two water dragon one that looks like Merga and one that look eerie familiar to lilac down to the color and characteristic
With Lilac heading off to find Merga (if she is still even alive anyway), that means there is still more to explore in Avalice. I really hope GalaxyTrail can make a 3rd game, a DLC or a spinoff to continue the story. Don't just leave us on a cliffhanger like that

For some reason i kinda wish they made like a bad ending where Merga would've won. Kinda would've like to see what it would've been like if she did succeed of getting her revenge by using her ship to eat the moon or whatever and leaving the planet to die even if it was wrong
I wouldn't be surprised if there's some Spark the Electric Jester influence since both Sabrina (main dev of FP1/FP2) and Fepard (main Dev of the Spark games) both hail from the Sonic fangame community and know each other (and are still friends) there's definitely some FP1 energy in Spark 1 (since Spark 1 came out after FP1) and both Spark 1 and both Freedom Planets draw heavily from Megaman X

For the normal ending, she went off to finally talk some sense into Merga and hopefully convince her to let go of her anger and insane revenge quest. 2. For the true ending, she went off to help Merga recover from her burdens and ensure her that she isn't alone anymore.

Okay so I haven't been able to encounter the True Final Boss; is it Syntax or is it Pangu? The blue coloration makes me think Pangu, but the fact that Brevon is an attack points more towards Syntax..
It's worth noting that you HAVE to listen all the time capsules first before fighting the final boss, only doing so will the game unlock the true final boss. I thought collecting all 15 capsules and proceed to fight Merga would be enough but nope, i ended up having to fight Merga twice just to reach the final final boss. It's so annoying

Alright, I think enough time has passed. I think the Cordelia stuff kinda comes out of nowhere. You only learn about her through the Time Capsules; she's supposed to be the Magister's long lost daughter, yet the Magister barely talks about her. It seems like this only exists to smack Merga across the face by making her realize, "Oh crap! My girlfriend is an Earth Dragon, too!" Even though her actions were justified from the start because of the Bakunawa Mining Laser incident that wiped out her entire race. If all you got from the Cordelia twist was the idea that Merga dropped her racism purely because her girlfriend is a member of the race she hated, I don't think you really comprehended the narrative. The whole point of Merga and the idea behind the game is that your past is always worth acknowledging, but shouldn't define your present. Everyone sees tragedy in Merga, and sees that she has many reasons for her doing what she currently does. She does hate the Earth Dragons. She does hate that their crimes were sweeped under the rug. She hates that her people were wiped out. Ddepending on who you play as, it's implied she doesn't actually want to kill, either (reinforced by the way she handles certain interactions). But she is mad at the injustice, upset at the loss of her people, trapped by her sense of duty as a warrior, and feels despair at being the only fullblooded water dragon left. It's important to know that Bakunawa's main purpose is space travel, and destroying the moon is a side effect. For as much as she actually avoids directly killing anyone, it can easily be surmised that her priority is leaving the planet, not killing everyone on it. In other words, while they didn't beat you over the head with her emotional conflict, the story's subtext (her final convo with the Magister makes it the clearest) makes it already evident that Merga is not necessarily evil or outright hateful/vengeful so much as she keeps convincing herself she needs to be, for several reasons correlating to her own personal feelings and circumstances. Cordelia didn't 180 her out of anything so much as hearing her voice and hearing her tell Merga to find her own happiness was the final push she needed to try and give herself a chance. Merga has no attachment to this world in the slightest - and Cordelia also didn't want Merga to be bogged down by the unpleasantries of the past, so it only makes sense that hearing this from someone she cared about specifically was what tied it up. Even if she was justified, they make a point that it's about her peace of mind. It isn't that she has zero reason to feel the way she feels, but she clings to her unhappiness and it's ruining her. Cordelia being an Earth Dragon is not on its own significant, but it's a reminder of the fact that Merga can find peace and happiness again. If she found it with Cordelia on her own, she could find it again all these years later. TL;DR - Merga was never fully committed to her role in the first place for her to be "hypocritical". Her whole situation is that she is trying very, very hard to be the villain and is doing so just in an attempt to mask the pain from her circumstances, which all four characters see in some way. The message from Cordelia just brought it to light and became the final reminder of what she could be doing instead. Also, she isn't OUR Magister's daughter. The Magister is old, but it's stated he was a kid when the Bakunawa incidents and the Water/Earth Dragon conflict happened, making it impossible for him to have a child of his own. She's the daughter of the Magister of that time.

Fucking Sega when it comes to that dark dragon AKA the true final boss of Sonic Superstars. Not only did it almost came out of nowhere, but also extremely tedious & frustrating as hell. Nothing like Bakunawa Fusion here in this video. The Dark Dragon of Sonic Superstars fails miserably in terms of storytelling, tedious as hell pacing, & frustration is off the roof because of rings are not kind to us because of it's shitty RNG effects & one attack being instant kill. And no checkpoint. Bakunawa Fusion boss fight on the otherhand at least have a much better pacing since it's not tedious as hell, the difficulty was the hardest the game has to offer yet still managed to be as fair as possible, & it's much more impactful due to the game's better storytelling. That's assuming if you're not doing the Rainbow S Ranking which is just an optional challenges. The fight against Bakunawa Fusion is what the final boss of the highspeed platformer should be. Ironic considering that Sega were being assholes to their fan community.
Yeah, I'd rather have the normal ending and be happy about it than to have some poorly written forced 'representation' romantic fanfic relationship shoved in front of me via the Time Capsules to be the requirement to get a true ending of a game, only to additionally be sequel baited for the next game post credits. To be honest, Cordelia/Merga's relationship was so out of place because it was an afterthought on the hand of the developers and it would be better if it wasn't a thing because they had failed to write even the most controversial topics in the story: the topics of war, racism, colonialism and so forth. The Time Capsules felt like it flatout derailed the game's pacing even for as optional it is, it was still necessary to complete. Additionally, I find it rich that Merga never referenced Cordelia once until the true end or even with the Magister of all people not saying anything about Cordelia? Something's not right here. I mean, even the first game had better emphasis on the villain directly with Brevon and it's a shame we never saw that with Merga's ordeal in the sequel. I don't have much hope for FP3. I really don't especially with how the story is so sloppy written and forced along with disrespecting its past and spitting on its grave in the name of being 'different', all I'm saying that I'm sticking to the fans to do a better job than the official devs. It's the infamous franchise consistency continuity issue all over again at the rate this is going.
I'd rather see a DLC where you play as the magister though his travels around the world learning about what happened between his people and the water dragons. Maybe he and Merga have to work together some how. Perhaps the earth dragons had Bakanawa built for some alternative reason. I think that would be a way better concept personally.
I wouldn't be surprised, if we see Brevon again(with some new bad guys) in FP3. Most probably, Merga will also be 1 one of the playable characters???...
It's has only been 2-3 day since this game released, and this guy has already aced all of the levels and bosses in the game... HOW?! lol

Even if she was justified, they make a point that it's about her peace of mind. It isn't that she has zero reason to feel the way she feels, but she clings to her unhappiness and it's ruining her. Cordelia being an Earth Dragon is not on its own significant, but it's a reminder of the fact that Merga can find peace and happiness again. If she found it with Cordelia on her own, she could find it again all these years later.
TL;DR - Merga was never fully committed to her role in the first place for her to be "hypocritical". Her whole situation is that she is trying very, very hard to be the villain and is doing so just in an attempt to mask the pain from her circumstances, which all four characters see in some way. The message from Cordelia just brought it to light and became the final reminder of what she could be doing instead.
Also, she isn't OUR Magister's daughter. The Magister is old, but it's stated he was a kid when the Bakunawa incidents and the Water/Earth Dragon conflict happened, making it impossible for him to have a child of his own. She's the daughter of the Magister of that time.

Venting over the crimes of the Earth Dragons being swept under the rug.
And especially venting over the "loss" of Cordelia.
The scary dragon lady is forcing herself to be unhappy, when all she really wants to do is move on.
This is one of those stories where I have to go out of my way to see the good stuff, isn't it?

Fucking Sega when it comes to that dark dragon AKA the true final boss of Sonic Superstars. Not only did it almost came out of nowhere, but also extremely tedious & frustrating as hell. Nothing like Bakunawa Fusion here in this video. The Dark Dragon of Sonic Superstars fails miserably in terms of storytelling, tedious as hell pacing, & frustration is off the roof because of rings are not kind to us because of it's shitty RNG effects & one attack being instant kill. And no checkpoint. Bakunawa Fusion boss fight on the otherhand at least have a much better pacing since it's not tedious as hell, the difficulty was the hardest the game has to offer yet still managed to be as fair as possible, & it's much more impactful due to the game's better storytelling. That's assuming if you're not doing the Rainbow S Ranking which is just an optional challenges. The fight against Bakunawa Fusion is what the final boss of the highspeed platformer should be. Ironic considering that Sega were being assholes to their fan community.
Yeah, I'd rather have the normal ending and be happy about it than to have some poorly written forced 'representation' romantic fanfic relationship shoved in front of me via the Time Capsules to be the requirement to get a true ending of a game, only to additionally be sequel baited for the next game post credits.
To be honest, Cordelia/Merga's relationship was so out of place because it was an afterthought on the hand of the developers and it would be better if it wasn't a thing because they had failed to write even the most controversial topics in the story: the topics of war, racism, colonialism and so forth. The Time Capsules felt like it flatout derailed the game's pacing even for as optional it is, it was still necessary to complete.
Additionally, I find it rich that Merga never referenced Cordelia once until the true end or even with the Magister of all people not saying anything about Cordelia? Something's not right here. I mean, even the first game had better emphasis on the villain directly with Brevon and it's a shame we never saw that with Merga's ordeal in the sequel.
I don't have much hope for FP3. I really don't especially with how the story is so sloppy written and forced along with disrespecting its past and spitting on its grave in the name of being 'different', all I'm saying that I'm sticking to the fans to do a better job than the official devs. It's the infamous franchise consistency continuity issue all over again at the rate this is going.

I'd rather see a DLC where you play as the magister though his travels around the world learning about what happened between his people and the water dragons. Maybe he and Merga have to work together some how. Perhaps the earth dragons had Bakanawa built for some alternative reason. I think that would be a way better concept personally.
