The intense stuff that Lilac said before the fights was already inspiring enough, But when you first hear this masterpiece, Oh My God... The amount of motivation you get is enough to even rival Bury the Light! I'm dead serious! In my opinion, This is the best final boss theme in existence.
Just finished my first playthrough today. 6 of my 18 deaths were to this guy. Watching him laugh after cutting me into feathers just made me all the more motivated to beat him. Still, he's sadistic, ruthless and, most importantly, has the strength and leadership skills to back it up. If I had to be a villain, I'd definitely pick Brevon.
I hate Brevon. Despise him and look forward to Dragon Boosting him into the wall on every playthough. But props to him for being such an effective villain. And for being more dangerous on foot than in his machines.
It's not just Brevon. In the sequel, you realize how dangerous his minions even are. Syntax is absurdly overpowered and Serpentine has got to be the most loyal and resilient snake I've ever seen.
Wether your saving a planet, fighting off your demonic possesed friend or standing your last ground against the large horde of zombies. We can all agree this goes hard

@@KatnippedYT spectacle and character wise the SOH battle is top tier, because even though Tails knows its pointless and Futile he still fights anyway, knowing that even if he wins its pointless. Yet there he goes anyway. As for Freedom planet, as awesome as the Breven battle is... there is just something about that MECH battle as Millia with that Song in the back ground that makes it utterly fantastic. Yes Carol and Lilac get a three phase battle in the end.. Milla getting this song for her two phase battle with the mecha boss was just so cool. However by this point both games have gotten sequels so the impact for both of them have diminished a bit. SOH suffers because it is at the end of the day.. a doomed battle.. awesome music or not. But id still give it the win here. Tails fighting his admittedly pointless battle has just a bit more impact than Lilac shouting at Breven

My only complaint is the song has such a short loop for how epic it is, I wish the composers realized how much of a bop they were creating and added a bit more to it...
It gives me the same vibes I get from Black Core Act 3's song in SRB2. Though I have the opposite problem there; I beat his mech way before the song gets good, so I need him to be at least as threatening as Brevon is.
My experience with this boss fight on hard mode(as Lilac): 1st phase: Oh shit. That spaceship thing from Battle Glacier is back! I think I can kill it again, though! -14 lives 2nd phase: Spaceship down! Now to deal with the ACTUAL boss: Mecha-Brevon! -39 lives 3rd phase: Yes! I killed Brevon! Get fuc-(Brevon slices way out of robot suit) What? He’s gonna try and fight me on foot? What an idio-(gets killed in two seconds) *OH.* -186 lives.

sooo... I got this game for free on my switch, i didn't think much of it because of that. i do remember someone telling me the creator has some sort of achievement in the Megaman or Sonic community, might've been a fangame or something, can't remember i play through the first level as Lilac, still not thinking much of it at first, i thought it was fun but even after beating that first stage stopped playing, never had the time to go back to it sadly... this song is very inspiring, i've decided i will give this game a second, fair chance.

I just beat the game last night, and I have to say that this is one of the best Final Boss themes I’ve ever heard of in a while. Especially with those guitars at 0:28 that build up for the fight. It’s like Sonic 3’s final boss with the soundfont of Mega Man X. It truly is amazing.

We can't win if we are trying to beat the final boss alone! Milla! Throw your technological cubes! And fly away and try to protect your friends with your shield! If Brevon uses bombs, carry it then throw it to Brevon! If Brevon throws the spots call your friends to come there and protect them with shield! Lilac! Always try to fill your gauage and always use dragon boost! Also try cycle too! Carol! Always use Claw Combo and if you need, use your motorcycle! If Brevon uses his best attack, climb to wall and wait until Brevonfalls down then use Claw Combo again! Torque! Use the guns just when you need! And don't use the guns too much or your weapon will be empty! Remember to be careful!
I wish Brevon has his HARD difficulty battle on NORMAL, and on HARD mode he would have: -------------------------------- - You have to beat all boss forms per one time. If you're killed, you have to start from Turret Corridor sequence. *ZERO FORM: TURRET CORRIDOR* - Turret Corridor is larger and harder to pass, and can be considered as first actual form of final boss fight, or zero form. - Exit is blocked, to unlock it, you have to destroy all locks - crystal turrets. - Positions of crystal turrets are random. - Randomly, one of turrets can't be destroyed by your attacks, so it has to be destroyed by main turret fire. *FIRST FORM: ABSOLUTION* - Absolution now has random patterns of fire of big green laser shots and rockets. They have different frequency of shots. - Absolution can shoot laser beams and rockets at different height, not only where your character is. - Absolution now jumps much longer and can turn around, so you can't just simply stay behind its laser shots - it will find a way to aim at you, so you have to jump in gaps between laser beams. *SECOND FORM: MECHA ARMOR SUIT* - If you dodge Mecha Armor's crazy bouncing attack before it ends, he immediatelly turn back and moves to you again, so you have to dodge it more than one time until attack ends. - Green stars attack now affects floor too. You have to react and carefully jump through shots. *THIRD FORM: ARKTIVUS BREVON* - Brevon uses unused audio of taunting and scream of pain. - Brevon has very small health regeneration as act of revenge for Easy and Casual modes. - Brevon final form becomes more faster if his health is at critical condition. His lifebar becomes blickering at that time. - Brevon can take only specific amount of maximum damage in your single attack. So tactic when you use Dragon Boost near the wall in specific time, dealing with boss in two-three attacks, is not working anymore, since after reaching max damage value, he stops to get damage until your attack ends. - Brevon actually beheads you, after using knife attack during the fight or performing special death animation if your body is intact, leaving you and laughing like he did with King of Shuigang.. - Brevon can jump and use his knife attack in air. So, you need to jump over his knife attack when he is very close to you, not when he's on the other side of map and you hear his attention roar. Or you will be instantly punished. Though, it takes 3 health petals instead of 6. - Brevon's knife attack is more dangerous if you're standing right to him, in range of attack. It can instantly behead you, taking all of your possible health petals and even ignoring critical hit. Instant kill, with exception if you are having Shield. His very first attack at the beginning of battle also has the same ability, since he was really mad and wanted to end fight with just one strike. - You can't parry Brevon's knife with any of your attacks, even with Dragon Boost. He will hit you anyway and stop your attack. Though, he would take less health petals from you, 3 instead of 6. - Brevon's grab attack deals little damage, taking half of health petal, so you now have to dodge it too. Plus, it deals larger stunlock, putting you in danger to be striked by knife while you can't control character. - Brevon's bomb shockwaves also deal larger stunlock now. - Brevon is more smarter now, so if he uses ground time mines and you ran out of them, he already waits for you and can use or knife attack, or his grab attack to throw you RIGHT AT THE BOMBS, so they deal you huge damage. So, no more moments when he SAVES you from his own mines, grabbing ad throwing you AWAY from them and their explosion. At the same time, his own attacks also can hurt him, so he would think twice before landing right at the bombs he throwed. - Brevon now can throw instant-explosion mines, throwing them on the floor or walls, like he does when you're on ceiling. - Brevon now can make more than one shot from his personal blaster. And he definitely can make direct shots (right at your current position) and deflection shots (where you will be at the moment when plasma blast gets you) - His flying super attack move pattern is randomized. It gives hint where he's going to appear, but you have short time to react. - When he exits his super attack move, he can appear in any place on battle area. If appears right to you, he makes his dangerous knife attack that can instantly kill you if you don't dodge or doesn't have a shield. ------------ what do you think? :3
But this boss is pretty normal even on Hard mode!!! And remember - there's no game overs and you have not to restart everything from the scratch! (that's sad...) Stop casualizing the games, developers! People need to remember that games give people CHALLENGE!!! Who knows, I HOPE they won't cut difficulty of Merga, and she will have good boss battle... ;)
Making a bunch of insta-kill and/or undodgable attacks is not good game design. It's the same as thinking you can balance Ganondorf by making all his attacks deal 50% damage to compensate for his speed. Multi-shots, faster mines, air knife, and more speed and power behind his attacks should do just fine, as well as more HP.
I know little from Freedom Planet... What I do know is that this is one of the best songs to listen to while you fight the Gold Titan in Roblox's Tower Defense Simulator.

This is my introduction to how the final boss of FP2 could play out... The worst possible sight held itself within Lilac's eyes. Her safe haven, her luscious home, was in scarred ruins. The Dragon Valley had never been the center of many battles throughout Avalice's history, but this time, Merga knew which area to strike in order to hurt Lilac the most. And she had succeeded. The purple heroine can't stop herself from collapsing to her knees as all of her failures engulf her. First the Kingdoms nearly kill each other in a pointless civil war, then her two best friends separate because of misled desires, and now her own fountain of life has been ripped apart. " No matter how hard I fight, there's always something that comes back to bite..." Lilac mutters these defeating words to herself without thinking of the consequences. This view is almost too much, she feels that she's ready to break. " But I won't. I can't. I don't want to..." She forces herself to stand up. The scorched remains of the Bakunawa lay around her, forming a sort of circle of memories. Lilac attempts to ignore her own thoughts as she scans for the enemy. After a few moments, she finally appears again. " It's a shame that you're still alive." The armored deity steps out from the shadows of a large hull piece, her eyes flaming with hatred and humor. Lilac stares her down with pure malice. " I'll have to say the same thing about you." " Don't get so readily caught up in your emotions again, Lilac. That's how you've managed to fail so many times already." Lilac jolts a little as Merga's words cut into her. " I know what you're trying to do. It won't work. My experience with this boss fight on hard mode(as Lilac):
1st phase: Oh shit. That spaceship thing from Battle Glacier is back! I think I can kill it again, though! -14 lives
2nd phase: Spaceship down! Now to deal with the ACTUAL boss: Mecha-Brevon! -39 lives
3rd phase: Yes! I killed Brevon! Get fuc-(Brevon slices way out of robot suit) What? He’s gonna try and fight me on foot? What an idio-(gets killed in two seconds) *OH.* -186 lives.
You died more times on the final Brevon phase than I did in my entire normal run playthrough

I got this game for free on my switch, i didn't think much of it because of that. i do remember someone telling me the creator has some sort of achievement in the Megaman or Sonic community, might've been a fangame or something, can't remember
i play through the first level as Lilac, still not thinking much of it at first, i thought it was fun but even after beating that first stage stopped playing, never had the time to go back to it sadly...

It took 30 minutes to beat this level because of the boss. in fact, I still hadn't beaten him. So I gave up, and came back the next day. Then, I beat him after like, 3 tries. Wow. Just Wow.
Kinda weird that you can dispatch him easily if you just calm down and think for a bit, considering what Lilac and Carol thought in that moment

I just beat the game last night, and I have to say that this is one of the best Final Boss themes I’ve ever heard of in a while. Especially with those guitars at 0:28 that build up for the fight. It’s like Sonic 3’s final boss with the soundfont of Mega Man X. It truly is amazing.

- You have to beat all boss forms per one time. If you're killed, you have to start from Turret Corridor sequence.
*ZERO FORM: TURRET CORRIDOR*
- Turret Corridor is larger and harder to pass, and can be considered as first actual form of final boss fight, or zero form.
- Exit is blocked, to unlock it, you have to destroy all locks - crystal turrets.
- Positions of crystal turrets are random.
- Randomly, one of turrets can't be destroyed by your attacks, so it has to be destroyed by main turret fire.
*FIRST FORM: ABSOLUTION*
- Absolution now has random patterns of fire of big green laser shots and rockets. They have different frequency of shots.
- Absolution can shoot laser beams and rockets at different height, not only where your character is.
- Absolution now jumps much longer and can turn around, so you can't just simply stay behind its laser shots - it will find a way to aim at you, so you have to jump in gaps between laser beams.
*SECOND FORM: MECHA ARMOR SUIT*
- If you dodge Mecha Armor's crazy bouncing attack before it ends, he immediatelly turn back and moves to you again, so you have to dodge it more than one time until attack ends.
- Green stars attack now affects floor too. You have to react and carefully jump through shots.
*THIRD FORM: ARKTIVUS BREVON*
- Brevon uses unused audio of taunting and scream of pain.
- Brevon has very small health regeneration as act of revenge for Easy and Casual modes.
- Brevon final form becomes more faster if his health is at critical condition. His lifebar becomes blickering at that time.
- Brevon can take only specific amount of maximum damage in your single attack. So tactic when you use Dragon Boost near the wall in specific time, dealing with boss in two-three attacks, is not working anymore, since after reaching max damage value, he stops to get damage until your attack ends.
- Brevon actually beheads you, after using knife attack during the fight or performing special death animation if your body is intact, leaving you and laughing like he did with King of Shuigang..
- Brevon can jump and use his knife attack in air. So, you need to jump over his knife attack when he is very close to you, not when he's on the other side of map and you hear his attention roar. Or you will be instantly punished. Though, it takes 3 health petals instead of 6.
- Brevon's knife attack is more dangerous if you're standing right to him, in range of attack. It can instantly behead you, taking all of your possible health petals and even ignoring critical hit. Instant kill, with exception if you are having Shield. His very first attack at the beginning of battle also has the same ability, since he was really mad and wanted to end fight with just one strike.
- You can't parry Brevon's knife with any of your attacks, even with Dragon Boost. He will hit you anyway and stop your attack. Though, he would take less health petals from you, 3 instead of 6.
- Brevon's grab attack deals little damage, taking half of health petal, so you now have to dodge it too. Plus, it deals larger stunlock, putting you in danger to be striked by knife while you can't control character.
- Brevon's bomb shockwaves also deal larger stunlock now.
- Brevon is more smarter now, so if he uses ground time mines and you ran out of them, he already waits for you and can use or knife attack, or his grab attack to throw you RIGHT AT THE BOMBS, so they deal you huge damage. So, no more moments when he SAVES you from his own mines, grabbing ad throwing you AWAY from them and their explosion. At the same time, his own attacks also can hurt him, so he would think twice before landing right at the bombs he throwed.
- Brevon now can throw instant-explosion mines, throwing them on the floor or walls, like he does when you're on ceiling.
- Brevon now can make more than one shot from his personal blaster. And he definitely can make direct shots (right at your current position) and deflection shots (where you will be at the moment when plasma blast gets you)
- His flying super attack move pattern is randomized. It gives hint where he's going to appear, but you have short time to react.
- When he exits his super attack move, he can appear in any place on battle area. If appears right to you, he makes his dangerous knife attack that can instantly kill you if you don't dodge or doesn't have a shield.

Making a bunch of insta-kill and/or undodgable attacks is not good game design. It's the same as thinking you can balance Ganondorf by making all his attacks deal 50% damage to compensate for his speed. Multi-shots, faster mines, air knife, and more speed and power behind his attacks should do just fine, as well as more HP.
It's called HARD mode...
And that awful health regeneration on Casual and Easy modes is BALANCE? ;P

I know little from Freedom Planet... What I do know is that this is one of the best songs to listen to while you fight the Gold Titan in Roblox's Tower Defense Simulator.

This is my introduction to how the final boss of FP2 could play out...
The worst possible sight held itself within Lilac's eyes. Her safe haven, her luscious home, was in scarred ruins. The Dragon Valley had never been the center of many battles throughout Avalice's history, but this time, Merga knew which area to strike in order to hurt Lilac the most. And she had succeeded. The purple heroine can't stop herself from collapsing to her knees as all of her failures engulf her. First the Kingdoms nearly kill each other in a pointless civil war, then her two best friends separate because of misled desires, and now her own fountain of life has been ripped apart. " No matter how hard I fight, there's always something that comes back to bite..." Lilac mutters these defeating words to herself without thinking of the consequences. This view is almost too much, she feels that she's ready to break. " But I won't. I can't. I don't want to..." She forces herself to stand up. The scorched remains of the Bakunawa lay around her, forming a sort of circle of memories. Lilac attempts to ignore her own thoughts as she scans for the enemy. After a few moments, she finally appears again.
" It's a shame that you're still alive." The armored deity steps out from the shadows of a large hull piece, her eyes flaming with hatred and humor. Lilac stares her down with pure malice.
" I'll have to say the same thing about you."
" Don't get so readily caught up in your emotions again, Lilac. That's how you've managed to fail so many times already." Lilac jolts a little as Merga's words cut into her.
" I know what you're trying to do. It won't work. I will keep myself steady, and I will defeat you."
" Can you even say that with an ounce of confidence anymore?" Merga raises her hands, gesturing to everything. " Take a third look at what you've caused. Is being the 'hero' really worth this much suffering?"
" Yes, it is. It's better than what you're going to do."

" There's that fire in your soul again. How sad... Yet you are right about one thing. You are more of an opponent than I predicted. That is why I harnessed the power of this planet's core."

" Change only occurs when one wills it to be so. Now watch, and learn." Merga rises into the air as a blue aura surrounds her. She draws in her limbs close to her torso, allowing the power to become stronger. She then extends her arms and legs back outwards, roaring as a wave of energy flies out of her. Her proportions are the same yet her looks are not. Her scales now flow with an electric-like water power, using the core of Avalice to unleash her hidden abilities. " Now I'm fully capable of everything." She smiles as she enjoys Lilac's horror. " So tell me, Hero of Avalice, do you still wish to face me?" Lilac shudders yet she does not falter in her mind. She remembers her life up until now. All the obstacles, all the trials, all the excitement, all the love, all the reasons. Carol, Milla, Corazon, her parents, the kingdoms... She remembers why she fights.
" I know what I want to do. Even if it's not easy, that's never been an excuse to give up. I never quit when I know I can keep trying, and this will not be an exception. Afterall, I'm a water dragon too."
" What?" Merga is taken aback as Lilac copies what she just did, focusing her soul into the power Merga just used, and allowing it to empower her as well. From the ground Lilac glows with the same blue aura as the deity. The only difference to be seen, is the determination in her eyes.
" We're more equal than you realize, Merga. I am as strong as you are, if not stronger!"
" Hmph. Interesting. I'd wish upon a thousand worlds to have a more obedient equal, however I won't complain about what I cannot have."
" Then you won't be complaining about many things." Merga sets herself onto the ground again.
" I'd say this is a perfect set-up to end it all for good."
" Agreed."
" But before I finish you, I'd like to thank you for making my endeavour a less boring one. You will be remembered, just as your pathetic friends will be."
" I wish I couldn't say the same about you."
The two dragons jump at each other, preparing themselves for the most important battle of their lives.
From a distant hill top, Carol and Milla weakly gaze upon the final battle.
" Come on, Lilac. You got this." Carol says.
" It's for the lives of everyone!" Milla says. " Including your own..."
