About to cross 132,000 in my 14 1LT double cab standard bed. Bought it new. Trans was rebuilt under warranty at 82k and i feel like ill be doing it again soon. Have you had any trans issues? Have you done the trans thermostat upgrade?
Transmission just went on my 2018 with 160,000km(100kmiles) due to the poor quality factory torque converter. Had to get a full rebuild. While doing research on it I noticed a lot of people with the 6l80 had the same issue. Just a heads up to anyone that hasn't had this issue. I would recommend getting the factory torque converter replaced with a good quality billet cover torque converter before it ruins your transmission.
Just yesterday I bought a 2016 crew cab LT Z71 5.3L with 55,000 miles 1 owner clean carfax for $22,900. Thanks for the video it really gives me confidence in this truck.

Did you do the updated trans thermostat yet? GM have a updated one from 194 to 158 .Ever pay attention to what your trans temp is especially when your towing
The crack you described is exactly what happened with my jeep. What I've heard at least as far as jeeps go is severe cold temperatures can make the glass in the windshield brittle enough to crack on its own.
Well mine is a GMC but looks like same vehicle pretty much. Mine only has 3800 miles 2017 and I was wondering how it will hold up. It’s stored inside and even though I don’t put but a few miles on it yearly I still change the oil and oil filter regularly and have had coolant replaced. Will change brake fluid soon. I put Range deal on it so it runs as a V8 all the time
Make sure you change the thermal bypass valve on the side of the transmission from 194 degrees 90c to 165 degrees 70c so the the torque converter doesn’t melt and the transmission grenades
@ sure can it’s on the drivers side of the transmission up by the bell housing has two lines I think it was then 10mil holding the lines and 12 for the mount or vice versa easy peezy

I also had to replace front bearings on my 16 Silverado, I also tow some pretty heavy loads between my 8700lb rv, and a 300gal IBC liquid tote, so I'm sure that didn't help
Mines a 2018 sierra all terrain with a 6.2l.. i paid 60k but it came lifted w/35s etc.. 30k miles now and the only problem is the lights on the defrost buttons stopped working ..

My 2017 gmc half ton (small V8) has lots of dust through the rear doors, the fuel pump gave up just after warranty ran out, and sometimes it makes a pop noise or groan noise in the tranny when backing up. The latex paint had hundreds of little specs in the paint (looked like course sand chips) right from the factory, but the dealer wouldn't repaint it. So the truck has been o.k. otherwise.

The head units are junk my touch screen won’t work anymore 800 to replace it I own it and eventually I’ll replace the head unit but I’m worried about getting another that’s just going to do the same thing any suggestions any better aftermarket stuff or should I just bite the bullet and replace the touchscreen

I have a 2017 ltz 116,000. Love the truck but I have had some issues. Complete DOD delete, new catylic converter, plus little normal maintenance, shocks, struts, o2 censors. Love the truck but the injectors will at some point effect most of these trucks on the road
You'll probably start having transmissions issues. The torque converter shutter is a know issue and degrades the transmission pretty bad. Had to completely replace mine. They said it's not a recall but it is a known issue 🥴🥴
How has the afm been? You feel it feel it jerky from it switching? In my truck I sometimes don’t notice it, then I have good amount of times I feel it switch. People tell me get a range only thing holding me back is I have warranty all on mine.

@@tristanwwsd a new TC is a must when rebuilding the transmission after failure. If your transmission is still in good shape, upgrading from the stock garbage reman TC to a billet TC is a really good idea.

I just don't understand how GM can keep putting out a product with the same problem year after year. The lifters, the transmission, the wheel bearings,the leaking back bed light. There is no excuse for a truck that cost as much as a Silverado . It should go an easy ,200 thousand miles with out these constant problems. The 2500 and 3500 models did not have this issue I would go with one of those.
The A/C condenser went out on my 2014

I think it’s leveled between 2.25 and 2.5 inches on the front.

18 Silverado 5.3 (6L80 trans) made it 35k miles and the transmission failed 🤣. Bad torque converters. It’s a well known issue with these models..
