My old light switch has two black wires. How do I know which screw to attach the new light wires to

It won't matter because they are both hots. A simple single pole light switch is just opening and closing the circuit to turn the light on so you can hook the hots to either screw.

Can I use any 3 way switch for two wires or this one only

You can use a three way or four way switch especially if you are adding additional circuits or you plan to connect more devices downstream. However, you risk incorrectly wiring your device (like this guy did) if you aren't 100% sure that you know what you are doing. On a three way you'll have the black screw or the line or hot wire and two brass or silver screws for the load or neutral wire so you would only use one of those, leaving the other screw alone. The green screw is for the ground wire to link or "pigtail" to the main ground using a wire nut or similar.

Hi there - what dimmer brand and model did you use?

I think it was something like this one:

I got one issue though! When I opened my dimmer switch from the wall -to connect it, I found different color of wires from your white and black, does it matter which one goes where?
I found 2 red and 1 blue wires, my dimmer switch also has 2 screws, one labelled A, another labelled L
    Please advise.

one red is a postitive(hot wire) the other red is a grounding wire and the blue one is a netural wire....

Finding two red wires and one blue wire in a junction box suggests that you have multiple electrical circuits coming into that box. In electrical wiring, the colors of wires can vary depending on local electrical codes and practices, but typically:
Red wires: In some cases, red wires can be used as hot wires, similar to black wires. Red wires might indicate a secondary hot wire or a switched hot wire in a circuit.
Blue wires: Blue wires are not as common, and their usage can vary depending on local codes. They may be used for special purposes or as part of a specific circuit. It's important to identify the context and purpose of the blue wire.

My current dimmer switch has only 2 wires. I dont see. Neutral or ground. Is there any way i can install smart dimmer? I see some smart dinner require neutral wire and some dont. But no ground wire on smart dimmer?

def need more context but it sounds like current dimmer is connected to a hot and a neutral but it could be a hot and ground. also in older houses the junction box itself (if metal) is grounded, usually behind the box out of sight.
Dimmer switches that require a neutral wire are often referred to as "neutral wire required" or "neutral wire necessary" dimmer switches. These types of dimmers typically have more advanced features, such as compatibility with dimmable LED and CFL bulbs, as well as improved performance and energy-saving capabilities. They use a small amount of power from the neutral wire to operate electronics within the switch, which allows them to function correctly.
However, there are also dimmer switches known as "neutral wire not required" or "no-neutral" dimmer switches. These dimmers are designed to work without a neutral wire and are often used in older electrical installations where a neutral wire may not be present in the switch box. Instead, they rely on the hot wire for power and return the current through the load.

You’re right. The music is a little annoying on this one. Thanks for the feedback!

Wasn’t trying to be rude. Lots of videos are very heavy on music. I think most of us want to hear what is being explained clearly. Music can make that harder. Thanks and good luck.

@@at1970 No worries! Sometimes instructional videos are probably better off with little or no music.
