How to Paint a Radiator: Spray vs Brush
You all are very talented. I'm sure that your child loves this awesome bed with a secret room.
Thanks! The secret room was definitely a favorite part.
Bob wanted to make Alice's room something special, so Jill, strong as an ox, borrowed some steel screws and a mattress from auntie. She covered the frame with eco friendly wood veneer and voila... A bedroom that is functional and hides all of Alice's secrets....
What dresser and shelves did you use? This is amazing!
Thanks! Ikea Nordli dresser and shelves were made out of plywood and pine boards
Where is ceiling fan? How children are there without fan?
Central AC
Hi thank you for sharing this. Question regarding the dressers… I clicked the link and it bring you to ikea but not the specific dresser so I free types it in the search bar and the dresser showing doesn’t look like the one you used. I was wondering if you may have got the name wrong or maybe they discontinued that specific one you used. If either of those are the case would I be able to use any ikea dresser that fit my specs to recreate this loft bed? Thanks in advance ☺️
It looks like they may have discontinued that one. A similar dresser should work!
how..
We love it! What brand and model vinyl did you use?
Très bonne idee

Looks awesome! We have tile wood looking floors that i hate and would love to do something like this. You have a video how you did this? Didnt see one on your channel. Thanks.
We are renting, I wonder if we do the structure not drilled to the bed if it will be safe. What do you think?
Maybe with some 4x4 posts and bracing?
@@happilybeforeandafter Thank you I will check about that
I'm glad we ain't the only ones woth those heaters. I didn't know you could paint them. Nice job
They can really be an eyesore, glad you liked the fix!
Not the best choice of music for the content.
goon cave
Awww… so cute 🥰
Mycket trevligt!
terrific room. what a great job. congratulations
Thanks so much!
Very nice, you tripled the floor space with the loft bed. The matching cut out handle was a good bit of design aesthetics, lovely. I would have done a few things differently: Make a swing out, latched bed rail to enable easy sheet changes. Guess who will be changing the sheets? You. Leave cubby spaces all over the headboard, using paracord to hold back things or netting, or a wood rail. Paint inside the cubby holes with multi color paints making color blocks. Then add some led lighting so that it becomes a giant display cabinet or toy/ book storage with fun colors. That was wasted space. The mold under the mattress is a real concern, as well as airflow for skin. You should cut the plywood up like Swiss cheese, esp on the hollow parts. Your insert is not enough. Any of us who travel in RVs know what mold can do. Don't fool yourself with that flimsy thing. You need slats. The colors and wall paper designs are very soothing and inducing to sleep, bravo!
Yeah, changing sheets can be tricky. No mold issues so far, but I did think about drilling some holes in the plywood. Thanks for the ideas!
Hello, can I get a link for this beautiful wallpaper please?
Here you go! rebelwalls.com/bellewood
It's nice I would have made more book shelves up top.
looks sooo fun
What sized bed is this? (Like is it a full, twin, queen?)
It’s a full bed.
I think you need holes under the matress for breathing
Your supports are standing on the 4 of the 2x4, they should be on the 2 of the 2x4. The wide way can bow over time.
I’d definitely do it the other way for something structural, but my kid doesn’t weigh much and we wanted to maximize head room underneath. But a great point!
Could you give is a review from inside
AMAZING ❗❗❗
The little details in your video helps so much! Stuff like telling us what kind of wood you got, what they're called. Even the small things like how you used a jigsaw to to carve out the handles were great for those have no idea what tool to use. Im in the process of cutting a few inches off an ikea loft bed and reinforcing it with some beams. It sounds simple but I was worried of getting it wrong. Your video has helped boost my confidence in it. I might even paint it now that I know about sanding it before painting. Thanks for the informative video!
I’m glad to hear that the video has helped you with your project! Good luck and thanks for your comment!
This is a really nice project. 💖 I'm guessing to make it rent-friendly I suppose you could build the support directly on the furniture and perhaps some extra in the back to make it look "box" shaped? And perhaps skip the wallpaper and the top-storage shelf. Anyway! Given the weight of the bed, mattress and everything I can't imagine it would slide around even without being attached to the wall, and it'd be too wide to simply tip over. Was there any particular reason why you still decided to attach the bed to the wall, or did it simply save resources by not having to build the support like a "box" and simply let the wall take the weight instead?
I just did it to maximize space under the bed, but it could probably be done like you suggested. Thanks for commenting!
Awww so cute!
How much was your all in cost? How long did it take?
Probably $500-750
How did you solve the height difference between the previous two floors?
I added some sheets of plywood to match the height
how much did it cost to make
Probably $500-$750
Excellent demo. And I love the nook!
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
This looks really good, the only thing I'd say is I'd put the cross supports under the bed the other way around so it's stronger. My daughter would love this. ❤
Thanks for commenting and for your suggestion!
@happilybeforeandafter on second thoughts, they are thick enough. If standard bed slats are strong enough then so would they be. Here's me trying to over-engineer something for no reason.
Thank you for your video. Out of all the videos describing how to paint heating units, your video was by far the best! Good luck and stay safe to your and your family. 😊👍
Glad it was helpful! Thanks!
Question how much did this cost roughly because I’m thinking about making something similar
Maybe $500-750
Hi there - what dimmer brand and model did you use?
I think it was something like this one: www.lowes.com/pd/Eaton-Universal-Single-Pole-3-Way-LED-Decorator-Light-Dimmer-White-Light-Almond-Ivory/5012962363
How do the kid get in bed?
He’s a good jumper. We added a small step stool afterwards though which made it easier.
Can you do a renter friendly tutorial of this?
Ikea has sets of slats that go under the mattress. Could you not skip the plywood and then air circulation is not an issue?
That’s probably a possibility, but plywood felt like a sturdier option to me.
just like my room design
Excellent for studio apartments to help segment away the sleeping area while creating loads of storage!
You could get 3500 per month for that room in the upper east side. 🤣🤣🤣
fantástico,maravilhoso ,estava pesquisando há muito tempo e agora achei,lindo demais.irei fazer igual🤩🤩🤩
Obrigado!
My childhood dream
Have a like from France, nice work
Thank you very much!
Really good tutorial! Love the pictures of your house - it's fab!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
I would've liked this as a kid!
this is so cool!
Thanks! Glad you like it!
