We went about 4 1/2 hours from us here in Florida to the Atlantic Ocean coast side to Fort Lauderdale Florida for a little over a week vacation to celebrate my birthday. Stayed at a beach resort. It was actually during hurricane Milton that was coming over our house area but everything turned out fine for us. I made a huge pouffe a couple of years ago and stuffed it with a couple of old comforters that we had and would have gone to the landfill livd reusing things... I'm in the middle of knitting a blanket for our king size bed from a couple of previous knitted blankets( I just learned how to knit a square in the round) that no one uses anymore❤
Your top is super cute. If you go to your local thrift store and tell them what you're making, I bet they would have a pile of stuff you could use for stuffing your poof. Stuff that's not nice enough to sell, shirts with a stain,thin sheets,etc, they all end up in the dumpster. Happy Birthday to your mom and enjoy your time together!
What you say makes tons of sense but trust me when I tell you that the thrift stores would NEVER give away things free. They would rather throw it away than give something away. Maybe church run charity shops would but most definitely the bigger stores would not. I only recently found out that the bigger thrift stores are "for profit" stores. Don't even get me started on how I feel about that!!
