    Another nice video. Thanks for doing the fin work for the rest of us. I free dive a lot. The cave experience is a little new. I will approach with caution. Good work.

    Great review. I've been there many times, never knew about the shallow swim through.

    I went for the first time and now I'm hooked on free diving! Can't wait to see what depths I can work to.

    Another disadvantage of Blue is there is no place to store your gear (cameras, accessories) near the dive.

    Nice informative video. May I add one thing? Comparing the current to Rainbow Springs State Park, with this current at Blue Springs you can walk against the current with no problem. If you don't like touching the bottom surface which can be slimey then wear beach shoes which are the best optiin or well fit crocs that tie in the back part of ankle. Flip flops or loosely worn shoes will slip off easily.

    My first scuba dive, after certifying, was a night cavern dive at Crystal River. Snorkeled here last week, seen deer from the boardwalk, manatees swam within arms length. Tilapia, turtles, catfish and gar were scattered all over. Can't wait to go back. Great video review of Blue Springs. How long is your breathe hold for 20 meters?

    Nice video, I was curious if when going down using the side passage, would I be able to shift to the main passage before reaching 80 ft?

    • @CaveFreediving
      @CaveFreediving  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, you can definitely go back to the main passage at any time while going down the side one.

      I don't know my plans yet for that Saturday, but there's a chance I could meet you at Ginnie on the 8th.

      Alright, well if you decide to go just shoot me a comment and we can meet up. I can't dive quite as deep as you, I've hit about 80 but thats in the ocean, I'm sure the caves will lessen that a bit. Im down here in south miami so I've got a good 7 hour drive friday after work. I have a sister in orlando though which is where ill make my stop for the night.

      Brian Channing Thanks. I'm working on a new video for Buford springs. It would be great to make a video of Blue Hole springs with another freediver. I've been very busy lately, so I'll let you know when I can go.

      Brian Channing I already filmed it and I'm working on editing now. Unfortunately, my best shot was lost because of camera problems.

    Went there today and the Grim Reaper sign is there.

    • @CaveFreediving
      @CaveFreediving  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I went there on Monday and saw it too at 60 feet. I also talked to the scuba diver who put it there and he said that they have to replace the sign every year because someone steals it (or damages it).

      I went there Monday also...but got there at 9:00 am and got turned away due to overcrowding. So I went back today (Friday). What time did you get there?

      I don't know how far you're willing to travel, but I would highly recommend Ginnie Springs Park (in High Springs, FL) which has many great springs for diving. Ginnie Spring cavern is amazing! Devil's Eye spring is cool too. Dogwood spring is a dangerous thrill. Devil's Ear is a challenge. You could spend 2 days there.
      In the Ocala National Forest, you could also dive at Alexander springs, Silver Glen springs and Salt springs. They are not very deep but they are pretty with small caves.
      Devil's Den in Williston is a very interesting place with lots of nooks and crannies to explore, but be careful, it's a little dangerous because of the low light levels and silt in the caves.
      Blue Hole spring is very pretty and fairly deep, but has a challenging current and a park rule against weight belts.
      Troy Spring isn't bad IF it's clear.
      Stay away from Warm Mineral Spring, it is a very strange and uncomfortable place.
