As a Leeds fan mate we've had very few moments to remember in your lifetime. I'm an older fan, I was lucky enough to see us lift the last Division 1 title before it became the Premier League. My opinion is Bielsa as much as he is adored, was never sustainable, his training and bizarre choice of a small squad just burnt us out, and we are still suffering from that burn out. We sacked him at the wrong time and hired at the wrong time. So we essentially sabotaged a transfer window, I feel now the team we have is good enough, but it's new and players have yet to gel. Marsch was the wrong man for the job, now don't get me wrong he is a great scout, and bringing in Adams, Sinisterra etc are amazing signings. But was too one dimensional. Ask any Leeds fan, they'll tell you we have been screaming out for the club to sign quality LB and get shut of the old guard, and a striker for the last 3+ years now. Gnonto is going to be world class, but you cannot ask an 18 year old kid to step up to the role. People think we signed a striker in Rutter, the lad himself has said he isn't an out and out striker. Good signings wrong positions and the board and recruitment team need to take the blame.
People see going down as a bad thing, when honestly. There are a lot of cases where going down is actually a good thing. Burnley are best example of this currently. I'd even argue Fulham at current standing. It took them a dozen tries to finally get it right.((Though I'd argue they needed to stop trying to flip the team that got them there at the time.)) Newcastle did it when we last went down. While yes, it can go badly, but going down isn't the worse thing in the world. It could be a blessing in disguise in the long run.
yes but id say the main team that needs to go down is Everton. they have been stale since around 2014 despite having spent almost big six levels of money, that club needs a little reset.
Sorry but I hate this take. Ask any Newcastle fan if getting relegated was a good thing for our club. All the money attached to staying up is an issue, and matters all the more for smaller clubs who are desperate for whatever revenue they can get vis-à-vis the big boys. As for Leeds, think about how long it took to get back to the top flight, and you’re fine with going back?
As a burnley fan I think getting relegated is probably the best thing to happen to the club in a while, and I honestly think the same thing that happened to us would've happened to Leeds if they went down instead, and we would be struggling badly.
It’s not as easy as you say to get relegated and just bounce straight back up. You’ve been given a optimistic disciple of Pep in Kompany and he has transformed your squad with brilliant youth players. Love the vids Viz, as a leeds fan idk whats happened to us. In my opinion marsch wasnt the right manager for us playing narrow and the board have made alot of bad decisions. Id say its due to poor managing and owners as we have a good enough squad to stay up, i dont think we will though

Really impressive video. Having followed Leeds in depth for years (and being a stickler for details) you summarized really accurately and the information was all on point. Great research skills and football understanding to condense info like this.
Having watched nearly every game in the JM era. I think under JM they had a 10% chance of getting relegated. They had finally given JM the most important pieces the LB and ST they had promised the fans and didn't get the last window. Under JM the team was always on the bad end of the wrong calls and individual mistakes away from being a great team. On a good day they could go for to toe with anyone. The fans lost their patience, which made the FO prematurely fire. JM only had 1 game with McKinney and about 2-3 games with the lb and striker they owed him. Now they have like a 35-50% shot of dropping.
I'm with you on this yeah. Why sack a manager you've backed to the hills in two transfer windows only to then sack him. I felt that they should have stuck loyal to Jesse marsch even when the going got tough. It just feels the board became far too complacent and though they were untouchable when they weren't at all and a rebuild of the squad was needed
They also sacked him before a run of 3 to 4 easier/winnable games. The new manager is worse and it’s not close… and continuing to play Bamford is a mistake. Not making adjustments when Vardy and Daka come on to defend that pace, mistake. Man sits on 3 subs and does nothing, lucky to even get a point when it should have been a win with a decent manager. How Gnonto is on the bench the entire game nobody knows.
Great video. Marcelo wasn’t perfect by any means but our first real sticky patch he was shown the door. Now we see it’s orta and radz are the problem. Have been from day one and they’ve hid behind him and got rid of him when it suited
I'm still disgusted by the fact that the board sacked Bielda cos we lost to some of the best teams in the world with a depleted squad. They ripped out the heart and soul of the club then. It's felt so fractured ever since
Personally as a Leeds fan who has watched Leeds tremble in the championship for many years but when Bielsa was appointed it was as if something clicked in our squad he helped us get from mid table championship to pushing for playoffs and champions The first season in the Premier League was electric for fans coaches and players alike then the dreaded second season came about we had injuries all over the place and truthfully didnt back Bielsa enough However with the appointment of Jesse Marsch we had a difficult time of ajusting we got the backing of money from the owners and on paper have a team that should be challenging for Mid table premier league however we didnt execute what we needed correctly
If anyone is to blame - its the unprofessionalism at the board level. The 4 magical years under Bielsa was all him. He ran the club and made everybody look good. Before him it was these same guys making a muk of everything. Deja Vu. We are back to 2017. You capture the sentiment perfectly. Great Video!
@@Vizeh the level of details and nuances that you have captured for someone who is not a Leeds fan is truly incredible. Its a fantastic short documentation of Leeds over the past few years.
Liam, you talk about Bielsa's style of play, limited squad numbers and injuries that racked up and took their toll on Leeds. I drew the same parallels in my own thoughts and saw something like that coming, in the sense that if you look at his career he never stayed too long in any one place. His international management being an exception. If you ask the question, is he naive or stubborn? I'd say stubborn 100%. This old dog did not want to be taught many new tricks. He has a titanic reputation in the game though (example: Guardiola is an admirer) and I almost think the topic of Bielsa himself is worth it's own video. Would be a very interesting topic with your own personal take on it to compliment things.
The old dog taught many of the modern managers the tricks they know now. I guess it feels hard to be the master and be overtaken by the student. Definitely too stubborn to change and adapt as modern football has moved on.
As a Leeds Fan, I was quite literally depressed until our win yesterday.. I really don’t know what I will do if we go down so I wish from the bottom of my heart that Javi Garcia can keep us up and the takeover from the 49ers is complete next season
Well done on that video, excellent overview of where we came from and what has happened. One thing that I think should be documented more, is the negative effects of the delayed takeover from the 49ers. Every decision has been slowed down, investments are delayed, and the owners are negotiating over who will fork up the money.. It's led Radrizzani, a man who is already a high rick investor, to play with dice.
the worst part is not the relegation, the worst if they enchanged a plan for 1 extra year on premiere, Marsch was not the coatch to build over what bielsa left , is more look like it destroy it. the problem of bielsa whas how much he do not want to delay matchs for covid or injuries , playing a lot with under 21 players , and how much it is based on attack but not on defence. premier got a very big diference on squads strenghts
This is a really good vid to summarise the last few years. Great attention to detail, especially since you’re not a leeds fan. Can’t help but wonder about where we’d be if Bielsa had been backed in the window to the extent Marsch was. Turned a set of players that struggled to finish top half of the championship into premier league players. A true coach.
I can’t speak for all Leeds fans, but for me our relationship with Bielsa is like a long distance relationship with your gf, you love them so much but deep down you know it’s not sustainable
If you want to know a similar feeling like this, investigate what happened in Chivas one of the biggest clubs in Mexico, the team I support. We are very attached to him, Even to this day He says that the love He felt by the club, players and fans, cannot be replicated by any other club he's played or coached. He saved the clubs reputation and if you ask any Chivas fan, they would say the same thing. Best coach for Chivas history hands down.
No way Leeds are going down! Squad is too good and Gracia looks like the manager to keep us up. See you next season in the Prem! Great content, keep it up! All football aren't we!
The historic Champions League campaign in 2000-01 for Leeds United was a significant because the club had almost faced Bayern Munich. This is the same opponent they faced in the final 26 years earlier, when Leeds lost 0-2 and there was a large riot in Paris after the referee decision favoured Bayern Munich at that time. Leeds are really deserved to win a lot if they managed to beat Valencia in the semifinal because they managed a clean sheet at Elland Road before losing by 3 goals in Mestalla. A year earlier, Leeds had almost achieved this big dream against Arsenal until a big tragedy happened before the Copenhagen Final. When they faced Galatasaray in Istanbul, two fans were murdered by Turkish hooligans. It's worth noting that such a tragedy had affected the mentality for players, as Leeds eventually lost 0-2 and failed to win by at least 3-0 margin in Elland Road, as the game had ended 2-2. What's more interesting is that there are some European clubs that entered this state after numerous big successes at that time when Leeds failed to play in Europe and eventually went down to lower divisions: 1.Parma: Although they are still yet to be crowned the scudetto, Parma has won 8 trophies between 1992 and 2002, including 2 UEFA Cups and a Cup Winners Cup in 1993. The club went bankruptcy twice, with the second one ended up in relegation to Serie D back in 2015 after financial troubles. The club was renamed twice from AC Parma to Parma FC SpA and now Parma Calcio 1913. 2.Fiorentina: They had world class players like Roberto Baggio and Gabriel Batistuta back in 1990s, but after enjoying some huge successes, including almost being qualified to the Champions League quarterfinal back in 1999-2000, the club got demoted to Serie C2 and was renamed to ACF Fiorentina. 3.Deportivo La Coruna: The club had 2 Copa del Rey titles and even won the La Liga back in 2000 with the record of worst point, plus reached the Champions League semifinal back in 2004 after a historic remontada vs Milan. After several years of big successes, the club got relegated in 2011, 2013, and 2018. After the third relegation, they never made a return and even demoted once again to third division in 2020.
I think Gracia is a good manager with a lot of good ideas, but I have a sneaking feeling the damage has already been done here. This board have consistently put their own egos ahead of the interests of the club and now we find ourselves even worse off a year down the line than we were when Bielsa left. Relegation could be a blessing in disguise, I hope that will be where we hit the big red reset button in a similar fashion to Burnley. I think that's the only way we can get anywhere near where we as fans believe we should be aiming to be, because this current squad with the men in charge aren't it anymore.
Need an ownership change. Current board obviously dno what they're doing and panick sack managers to quickly. Bielsa should have been given more time before being sacked
Bielsa teams have always been like that. Athletic Club and Marseille had awesome seasons with him but then the club collapses because the way he plays and trains can't be something they can maintain.
Yeah I'm not confident we are staying up for the first time in years I struggle to see us winning games anymore. Hopefully Gracia is successful. The board are the problem in my view. The year we came 9th the summer after that the recruitment was awful Dan James and Firpo signed and we still had our Championship midfield. I think if we bought 3-4 players that summer we wouldn't have struggled with Bielsa. Jesse was a nice guy but his tactics were awful and didn't suit us.
Imagine if Klopp introduces his pressing game for the team of Joe Allan, Henderson, Milner, lucas, etc he would have also taken lfc to bottom of the table. I just dont know why Bielsa didnt implemented his murder ball slowly.
Bielsa gave the club an identity from 2018-2021 but the thin squad and stubbornness of Bielsa to adapt was his undoing. Wish he could’ve lasted a long time but it wasn’t to be. However it would’ve been better had the board brought in someone similar rather than an American guy who spent his whole management career in the Red Bull footballing system.
The board is the main problem, no long term planning, or if there is, no plan b for the long term plan in case something happened. Just look at the last ten managers the team had - other than Bielsa, no one survived more than 40 games, most of them a lot less
@@footballfanar9717 does well at the big clubs. Not so well working with mediocrity at Newcastle and Everton. Players make him look good but he isn't all that
When you have a director of football model you're not necessarily buying for the manager, you're building a squad that any manager should be able to work with. The January signings weren't necessarily Marsch ones, Wober played under him but is a CB who can play most systems. Mckennie never played under Marsch or any Red Bull style and neither did Rutter. We think another manager (now Gracia) can get more out of this squad than Jesse could, time will tel if that's correct
As a American I know a lot of Leeds United from the Don Revie days them losing to Bayern in the 1975 European Cup Final 2-0 to them winning the last Football League First Diving titles the season before the Premier League’s introduction to the Champions League Semifinal to their Relegation 4 year later to administration is must be hell and depressing being a Leeds United fan and a heart attack waiting to happen
As a leeds fan its mostly the boards fault, leeds fans want them out. And there is a video on twitter of orta saying sack the board in a sarcastic way. And jesse marsch was NEVER the right man, hope we can stay up and burnley get promoted.
They're in a lot of trouble, but there's still a lot of football to be played and a long long way to go From an arsenal fan, so the above also applies at the top of the league
I think leeds will stay up, the board are a bit fickle, a change in new ownership might add to Leeds change of fortune 49ers have proved that they are no mugs. So the future seems hopeful.
Ive never been one to be overly optimistic about us but i truly dont think we are going down this year, just feel like we have to much class, only problem is we are not battling the usual suspects lacking player quality but other bigger teams with a lot of class to.
@@Vizeh hmm.. tough decision, kinda agree. But so far, Andrea have been quite a good owner. By the way, can you do a coverage on Blackburn Rovers and the Venkys ownership? And maybe put your thoughts and commentaries on it. Thanks!
As a leeds fan, there's issues all across the board, the behind the scenes of the club seems to be a huge mess with no resolutions in sight, the players seem to have lost motivation and its fully infuriating, that image of them in the blankets will be forever burned in my head if we do go down, which I'd say there's a 90 percent chance of us going down, we have great young players that either don't get minutes or aren't played properly, the defence is so wishy washy that it makes starting any kind of attack hard, and the players that are performing at a semi acceptable level are being let down, a key example being our keeper Meslier, the man's saved us so many times from being like 5-6 goals down but he has absolute donkeys infront of him. Our ability to shift off the dead wood just never happened and if we did make signings they were either flash in the pan or just flat out never worked, exceptions being Raphinha and maybe Gnonto if he starts firing.
Could you do a video on what it’s been like for you to move to Poland and adjusting to life there? I have a Polish girlfriend, and tempted to move over
After finishing 9th playing glorified training games we decided that we could do the same with better results but the problem was our championship players hit the ceiling and it wasn't addressed, Ayling, Harrison, Forshaw, Bamford, not to mention our captain is the worst centre back in the league by a distance and he was still starting games in our THIRD premier league season, the board only signed 1 defender in the last 4 transfer windows and wasted money on forwards like Dan James that we didn't need and spent about £20m too much. We've played pretty well this season but it's the same old players letting us down that let us down in the championship and the board didn't address it and that's gross negligence on their part.
@@Vizeh Agreed, it was obvious that when the crowds came back that it would be a lot different, we should have abandoned the sentiment and recruited proven players to help consolidate us further, the championship players could have easily filled the bench as squad players.
i do believe marsch was sacked too soon, he was backed and didn’t really get a chance after he brought in players like rutter mckennie and wober who are all players who slot in the XI(maybe rutter) he was given time with aaronson and adams and the whole year but he was sacked too soon after they backed him in january
I disagree I think we sacked him too late. By the time we sacked him we were already practically relegated but I think he deserves another chance at a different club.
He should have gone before the World Cup when we could have got a higher level manager in. The footy he had us playing was just dire and it was obvious he'd reached his ceiling. Marsch needs to go away like Eddie Howe and rethink his ideas
Long story short, 2 things can be established: *Leeds didn't assemble a squad that could remain in the Premier League once they got promoted. In fact they should have done this in the Championship (like Wolves did funny enough). *If you are going to play an intense style of play, you need to have a large squad of around 30-35 players.
I knew we were in for a ROUGH season when I read that "it is impossible to be in a relegation fight this season" quote from Andrea. You never want your ownership/board to be thinking like that, especially when you're fundamentally a mid table side like Leeds.
not being able to sign Ben White is probably what doomed Leeds United. Losing Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha was the nail on the coffin. Also Patrick Bamford being a 1 Season Wonder also affected the team. Had they managed to get Ben White they would've most likely had an even better 1st Season and a more Stable 2nd Season. Had Bamford kept his form and not injure so often, Leeds wouldn't had to worry about a leaky defense. And they needed to do everything on their power to retain Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha. These 2 were their best players. Basically Leeds had the ambitions, but they still had a Championship Mentality.
I hope they stay up.. And the talent is clearly there in this squad.. But honestly I have a hard time being positive they put it together enough to make it again... Marsch was an uninspiring hire even then, although it worked for the short term, and I see Gracia as the same kind of appointment unfortunately. So unless they sack him again too in the summer, whether he avoids relegation or not, and find a candidate to truly improve the play of this team, I don't see any real improvement happening at all...
When Bielsa was sacked, I had mixed emotions. I know that we will probably never have another manager like him, but at the same time we probably would have been relegated with him at the helm. Then came Jesse Marsch. Knowing he had failed in the Bundesliga before, I feared that PL would be to big for him. And even though I really wanted him to do well, and was delighted that he avoided the drop to Championship, I still had my doubts going into this season. We started fine, but it soon became clear that his plan A only worked against teams who want to play a possession based game with many players forward. It also became clear that there was no plan B. This is why the season gradually went pear shaped. When Marsch was sacked I felt a little sorry for him - he has after all a victorious relegation battle to his name - but mostly I felt relief. Now Javi Gracia. He has done this before (saved Watford from relegation), and I think he is capable of doing it again with Leeds. I am happy with this appointment, and I wish him a long and successful reign in the manager's office at Elland Road.
It's part of our DNA as a club to self implode ... we have had poor ownership for over 20 years now , any player that shines in our team quickly gets snapped up , even managers that are doing well get pinched away . As a 40 year old Leeds fan, I vaguely remember winning the old division 1 and since then I have experienced zero glory ... WE ARE GOING DOWN AND PROBABLY WONT SEE THE PREMIER LEAGUE AGAIN FOR ANOTHER DECADE .
I really like Leeds it’s so annoying to see them go down they are a good club with lots of potential and they have shown this with some good performances but it isn’t consistent enough and that is the annoying thing
Re: relegation being a blessing in disguise It is now very different than it was 20 years ago: due to the amount of money the teams just for being in the PL and the golden parachutes, a team going down isn't put on the brink of administration by the PL wages; in fact, those relegated teams are so far ahead of everyone else financially, it doesn't really seem fair on the teams who are perennially just short of promotion. But does to not being in the PL, they can afford take chances with younger players and return to the PL with a new model (exactly what Burnley are doing). However, I don't think Leeds need that exactly. With all due respect, Burnley last year looked like a relic, a blast from the past. Leeds are a lot younger and have a lot more high-ceiling players, so I don't think they really need a big re-build, they just need to put what they have to good use.
For me it's What happened to David O'Leary?? One minute he was getting champs league with an awesome Leeds team, next thing he's never seen again. My dad is a huuuge Leeds fan, for my sins I support Blackburn 🌹👊
In short, it's a combination of club with aging/old player, many of whom were never good enough for the Premler League to beging with, current majority owner not wanting to invest money because there is an "agreement" for the Club to be fully sold soon to the minority owner so any invested money on players wouldn't be beneficial to the current majority owner personally, and a Sporting Director that like likes to be a hipster in his selection of managers and player purchases, and (despite a few gems), gets things wrong more often than not.
I'm a die hard Leeds fan most my life seen us in league one and championship. when bielsa came I honestly can say I never ever enjoyed watching my team so much el loco madness and his blue bucket were legendary. unfortunately things didn't work out for him with Jesse I felt when we did appoint him it should been short term singing former players from his old Leipzig squad wasn't ideal and ofc McKennie and Adams weren't the best way to replace kalvin. I'm not sure we're gonna do well with Garcia but congratulations bro Burnley certian for promotion nice see Burnley back.
Jesse Marsch's stubbornness, biased officiating, unrealistic "off with his head" fans, comical defensive blunders, and the rise of Brentford, Brighton, and Fulham are what happened to Leeds. Unpopular opinion - Leeds shouldn't have sacked Marsch. I think he keeps them up. I liked his aggressive tactics and lack of fear when it came to the big clubs. I feel he got the best out of a discount squad. The matches against Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal, and Newcastle were exciting. These matches are great examples of Marsch ball. Enjoy the Championship next season Leeds fans.

No, i completely agree with you statement absolutely 💯 bud. I just wanted to let you know that in American Football 🏈 they use blankets and since the owner American that’s probably where they got the idea but absolutely 💯 looks bad since their supposed to be fighting regulation. Plus in American Football you don’t have that so I completely agree with your statement great video by the way keep it up man enjoy watching them
The whole reason why we've struggled: 21/22 - a lot of injuries 22/23 - march wasn't inspiring the team like bielsa. How to fix us - bring back bielsa, but make sure the training isn't as intense as that was te main reason for our Injuries
Orta is completely out of order he was seen mocking fans again at Everton when we were chanting to the board. He has also in his 3-4 years here has made 2 good signing gnonto and raphinia rest have been shocking he needs to go
Have you heard the latest about the club having to pay Jean Kevin Augustin (he had 3 sub appearances in the championship) £25m for a breach of contract, on top of paying RB Leipzig £15m? Surely the worst transfer in football history. Fun club to support are Leeds 😂
Correction to your video: Marsch was not really "backed". Phillips and Raphina were sold, and they purchased 5 players over the summer and didn't even spend all of the money those sales brought in. There was no net spend in the club going into this season. We've needed a LB for YEARS yet it's gone neglected. Leed's biggest problem last season was its defense, yet it spent practically nothing on the backline last summer except for a RB...and instead of looking for a quality RB to come in, they tried to shoehorn in a RWB on the cheap and it hasn't worked and he's now benched. We also needed a proper striker with the correct profile, as Bamford is washed. Even when he isn't out on months long injuries, he scuffs his chances 80% of the time. He has the worst big chances missed per 90 and goals vs. xG ratio in the League.

I'm a 26 years old Leeds fan, and I don't think I'll ever see Leeds play better than the Bielsa era.
Being a Leeds fan, one thing we have to our club is loyalty. We stood by our club when we went down, twice and we are still here now.
MOT
Great video. Marcelo wasn’t perfect by any means but our first real sticky patch he was shown the door. Now we see it’s orta and radz are the problem. Have been from day one and they’ve hid behind him and got rid of him when it suited
Bielsa worked wonders it seems when it comes to papering the cracks behind the scenes at Leeds United
Bielsa leaked goals for fun
Man I love your dedication and hard work.
I hope to keep you impressed each time man
I'm still disgusted by the fact that the board sacked Bielda cos we lost to some of the best teams in the world with a depleted squad. They ripped out the heart and soul of the club then. It's felt so fractured ever since
There is a massive Bielsa sized hole in Leeds absolutely
Personally as a Leeds fan who has watched Leeds tremble in the championship for many years but when Bielsa was appointed it was as if something clicked in our squad he helped us get from mid table championship to pushing for playoffs and champions
The first season in the Premier League was electric for fans coaches and players alike then the dreaded second season came about we had injuries all over the place and truthfully didnt back Bielsa enough However with the appointment of Jesse Marsch we had a difficult time of ajusting we got the backing of money from the owners and on paper have a team that should be challenging for Mid table premier league however we didnt execute what we needed correctly
😊
Loving this documentary style content Liam! Really insightful and well researched, good viewing!
Your dedication into the content you produce is inspiring bro, keep up the good work🙌🏽
Thank you! Will do!
Thank you for your time man
@@Vizeh the level of details and nuances that you have captured for someone who is not a Leeds fan is truly incredible.
Thank you for your comment man, it is a real shame honestly
The old dog taught many of the modern managers the tricks they know now. I guess it feels hard to be the master and be overtaken by the student. Definitely too stubborn to change and adapt as modern football has moved on.
Accurate, fair, unbiased, great vid, well done.
My favourite channel on YT atm, waiting on every upload, keep up the sick content mate !!
Love ya❤
Good video Viz, you should try this with Leeds's rivals Huddersfield, from Promotion playoffs to relegation chances - could be a good idea
Maybe in future pal
The mighty Jaheim Headley will keep them up 💪
This is a really good vid to summarise the last few years. Great attention to detail, especially since you’re not a leeds fan.
Can’t help but wonder about where we’d be if Bielsa had been backed in the window to the extent Marsch was. Turned a set of players that struggled to finish top half of the championship into premier league players. A true coach.
Thank you man, I tried to give it as much cover as I can
I think Vizeh should do a video about Scunthorpe because there downfall is just very sad hope he gets this comment
I can’t speak for all Leeds fans, but for me our relationship with Bielsa is like a long distance relationship with your gf, you love them so much but deep down you know it’s not sustainable
That’s deep that
If you want to know a similar feeling like this, investigate what happened in Chivas one of the biggest clubs in Mexico, the team I support. We are very attached to him, Even to this day He says that the love He felt by the club, players and fans, cannot be replicated by any other club he's played or coached. He saved the clubs reputation and if you ask any Chivas fan, they would say the same thing. Best coach for Chivas history hands down.
Very good video and at last we got that win... fingers crossed for the future..
No way Leeds are going down!
Squad is too good and Gracia looks like the manager to keep us up.
See you next season in the Prem!
Great content, keep it up!
All football aren't we!
All I can say is that no squad is too good to go down, wish you luck man!
Garcia can’t even keep up his trousers
What's more interesting is that there are some European clubs that entered this state after numerous big successes at that time when Leeds failed to play in Europe and eventually went down to lower divisions:
1.Parma: Although they are still yet to be crowned the scudetto, Parma has won 8 trophies between 1992 and 2002, including 2 UEFA Cups and a Cup Winners Cup in 1993.
We can't all beat Bayern and become European champions, UTV!!! 😂
Bro gave his villian defeat monologue and its unfolding like a movie
I think Gracia is a good manager with a lot of good ideas, but I have a sneaking feeling the damage has already been done here. This board have consistently put their own egos ahead of the interests of the club and now we find ourselves even worse off a year down the line than we were when Bielsa left. Relegation could be a blessing in disguise, I hope that will be where we hit the big red reset button in a similar fashion to Burnley. I think that's the only way we can get anywhere near where we as fans believe we should be aiming to be, because this current squad with the men in charge aren't it anymore.
Burnley need to come up to the prem and beat Manchester united so goldbridge gets annoyed and rages at the camera.
That’s fine by me
Need an ownership change. Current board obviously dno what they're doing and panick sack managers to quickly. Bielsa should have been given more time before being sacked
Common Leeds! 💙💛
Great video man 👌
Spygate will become quite a memorable British football trivia looking back...
I forgot that even happened before doing this video😂
Bielsa teams have always been like that.
Athletic Club and Marseille had awesome seasons with him but then the club collapses because the way he plays and trains can't be something they can maintain.
Im a spurs fan, but i love Leeds and if they were in the prem when i started watching football I would have definitely be a Leeds supporter
Great little vid mate
Thanks 👍
Bielsa gave the club an identity from 2018-2021 but the thin squad and stubbornness of Bielsa to adapt was his undoing. Wish he could’ve lasted a long time but it wasn’t to be. However it would’ve been better had the board brought in someone similar rather than an American guy who spent his whole management career in the Red Bull footballing system.
It makes sense why they were after Postecoglou now, the managers they’ve had have been shocking
The board is the main problem, no long term planning, or if there is, no plan b for the long term plan in case something happened. Just look at the last ten managers the team had - other than Bielsa, no one survived more than 40 games, most of them a lot less
Please do a “WTF happened to Phil Bardsley?” video next
On it🫡
I'm satisfied with Gracia. Just glad we didn't bring in a clown like Benitez or Gerrard. Another fantastic video, Liam
Thank you lad, he’ll be a hard one to judge, Watford fans seem to like him
No way is Benitez a clown. Top class manager.
@@footballfanar9717 does well at the big clubs. Not so well working with mediocrity at Newcastle and Everton. Players make him look good but he isn't all that
They over reacted and fired the manager that was keeping them up.
To this day, I have no fucking idea why the Leeds owner sacked Jesse Marsch after backing him in January.
Great vid mate, any chance of getting your background music list??
hi vizeh love the vids, brings a tear to my eye that you are now making a WTF happened to leeds video
Hope those are good tears tbf
As a American I know a lot of Leeds United from the Don Revie days them losing to Bayern in the 1975 European Cup Final 2-0 to them winning the last Football League First Diving titles the season before the Premier League’s introduction to the Champions League Semifinal to their Relegation 4 year later to administration is must be hell and depressing being a Leeds United fan and a heart attack waiting to happen
If their fans weren't such scum I'd feel bad for them
As a leeds fan its mostly the boards fault, leeds fans want them out. And there is a video on twitter of orta saying sack the board in a sarcastic way. And jesse marsch was NEVER the right man, hope we can stay up and burnley get promoted.
See you next year lad!
@@Vizeh i hope
Great vid as always mate
Me watching from indonesia 2:30 am
Thank you all way to Indonesia bro!
Amazing video as usual❤
Thank you so much
They're in a lot of trouble, but there's still a lot of football to be played and a long long way to go
From an arsenal fan, so the above also applies at the top of the league
I think leeds will stay up, the board are a bit fickle, a change in new ownership might add to Leeds change of fortune 49ers have proved that they are no mugs. So the future seems hopeful.
Watching this while playing my Leeds FM save
How's your save doing?
Ive never been one to be overly optimistic about us but i truly dont think we are going down this year, just feel like we have to much class, only problem is we are not battling the usual suspects lacking player quality but other bigger teams with a lot of class to.
Andrea should not fired the previous manager. Biesla is the key and glue for that team. The owner a bit too overzealous in his decision.
I understand it though to a point, the team were falling apart at the time
@@Vizeh hmm.. tough decision, kinda agree.
Yet the media keep telling everyone how big a club they are......we ain't in the 1960's and 1970's folks!!
I call it the beating Chelsea effect , the only game they played well was against chelsea which gave them a false sense of hope
Chelsea taking shots from nothing😂
With marsch yes honestly with a better manager we'd be nowhere near relegation.
The fact you didn’t improve your team from that 9th place season says a lot
Long story short, 2 things can be established:
*Leeds didn't assemble a squad that could remain in the Premier League once they got promoted.
I hear your quote being said by Leeds fans a lot, massive red flag
not being able to sign Ben White is probably what doomed Leeds United.
Funny how this season it´s opposite, Leeds are flying in the championship and Burnley are in the relegation zone of the premier league
As a leeds fan I feel sad
Don’t blame you
Happier after today
The only reason they may potentially stay up is because there are teams like Leicester and Nottingham Forest that are doing even worse than them.
As a Leeds fan most of the blame is on orta
They hired Orta
It’s the Leeds way it seems
I really like Leeds it’s so annoying to see them go down they are a good club with lots of potential and they have shown this with some good performances but it isn’t consistent enough and that is the annoying thing
Re: relegation being a blessing in disguise
It is now very different than it was 20 years ago: due to the amount of money the teams just for being in the PL and the golden parachutes, a team going down isn't put on the brink of administration by the PL wages; in fact, those relegated teams are so far ahead of everyone else financially, it doesn't really seem fair on the teams who are perennially just short of promotion.
Would like to see one of these on Leicester City
i feel like leeds will go down this season but will immediately get promoted and will either become a yoyo club or a lower-mid table side
No we'll go down to the championship and stay because Leeds United is a clown club and a joke
The problem has been the board. What was the point of giving Jesse Marsch money in January if you are sacking him?
Many clubs have been found doing same thing, Chelsea with Tuchel to be fair
Really appreciate the video! I still have a bit of hope now. Hope Javi can turn us around💙🤍💛
Thank you for your comment!
When you talk about Leeds fans love for Bielsa, would you not say it was similar to Burnley with Dyche?
I'm a die hard Leeds fan most my life seen us in league one and championship.
when bielsa came I honestly can say I never ever enjoyed watching my team so much el loco madness and his blue bucket were legendary.
unfortunately things didn't work out for him with Jesse I felt when we did appoint him it should been short term singing former players from his old Leipzig squad wasn't ideal and ofc McKennie and Adams weren't the best way to replace kalvin.
I'm not sure we're gonna do well with Garcia but congratulations bro Burnley certian for promotion nice see Burnley back.
Jesse looked so likable that is a shame it didn’t work out really
Leipzig or Salzburg
Leipzig or Salzburg
I get that the blankets looks bad but As an American if you notice Football 🏈 players during games thats its cold or snowing they have blankets on maybe that’s the American investors idea not sure but you should look it up I still don’t agree I know across the pond cold weather for you guys is different from the one in LA or San Francisco so we get cold easily
It’s not that serious to be fair, but for fans of the club it can look quite bad
No, i completely agree with you statement absolutely 💯 bud. I just wanted to let you know that in American Football 🏈 they use blankets and since the owner American that’s probably where they got the idea but absolutely 💯 looks bad since their supposed to be fighting regulation. Plus in American Football you don’t have that so I completely agree with your statement great video by the way keep it up man enjoy watching them
Jesse was Leed’s best chance of staying up. Got a good sum of cash on them to go down this year since his sacking
Why do you think that? We simply couldn't win games under him, pretty big thing needed to stay away from the bottom
Me as a non-native english speaker: Dire Straights..? Like, the band..?
I feel switching systems hurt Leeds United
The whole reason why we've struggled:
21/22 - a lot of injuries
22/23 - march wasn't inspiring the team like bielsa.
How to fix us - bring back bielsa, but make sure the training isn't as intense as that was te main reason for our Injuries
Advice for life, never get back with an ex it never works well
4:55 Song name?
i dont understand their recruitment, without a goalscorer they are going down and they spend £40m on a project in Rutter.
It is weird how they’ve not focused on bringing in an experienced signing
Short answer. An incompetent board.
Bielsa papered the cracks
Would say he was backed enough to get much better results than what he’s got now honestly
