This video is EXCELLENT. And Graham's late-video statement of "this isn't from personal experience, but" is gut-wrenching, knowing that he'd be fighting cancer himself five years later. (With full recovery, but still.)
What Kathleen and Graham say at 22:07 are the reason why I never had any doubt that Desert Bus would happen this year, even with (gestures at world) going on, even if it would be different this year. And that gladdens me.
@@loadingreadyrun anyone who ever saw him or had the luck to meet him will never forget him, part of him gets to live on with desert bus and I know he's proud of that wherever his spirit is.
By the gods, that trip to the hospital with Liz... that broke me. That... THAT is why this is so SO important. That is why I love this event every year. That is why I love Desert Bus for Hope THANK YOU Loading Ready Run Thank you volunteers, thank you to everyone who crafts, who donates, or participates
45 minutes in, this is great so far! At first I was thinking "TH-cam? Well how can I give them money for doing this?", then I realized, I can just donate an extra $50 at Desert Bus this weekend!
As a reminder, donations to Desert Bus go almost entirely to Childs Play (and that's a good thing) so if you want to feel like you've "paid" towards this documentary I would suggest the LoadingReadyRun patreon or one of Flying Saucer's future projects.
This is great. I remember watching the screening for this last year and I'm glad it found a home. Also, I love the cuts in Graham intro from inside the building with music to outside without music lol
The fact that there's over four minutes of Kickstarter backer crawl says almost as much about how beloved Desert Bus for Hope is as the $7 million lifetime donation total.
As a kid i were in a car accident. Playing games and things like it was super important for me to be able to cope whit everything. What Desert bus are doing are so important.
I have got the biggest, most dopey, stupid happy grin on my face and at the same time tears just rolling down my face. What a great way to get revved up for this year's DBfH, and such a great reminder that contrary to the dumpster fire 2020 has been so far, there's still good, and joy, and laughter in the world. Well worth the wait to finally see it! ❤️ Also: Z E T A FOR LIFE!
Oh boy, watching this like 7ish hours before this year's DBFH goes live is kind of the perfect emotional moodsetter. Thank you all for making this possible
I love these people. I first saw them for their magic the gathering content but once I saw what desert bus was I could only feel my like for them turn to genuine love and admiration. You all rule
This is why we keep coming back every year. Yes, there's always the goofs, the prizes, and all the other craziness that a week straight of content causes. But it's the people. The people who put it on, the people who donate to make it happen, and the people whose lives we're improving because of it. This is, indeed, Desert Bus.
Awesome! I've been waiting to see this Documentary for YEARS! This particular Desert Bus had some amazing classics and gut busters. (Zippo-Tricks McEdgelord anyone?) I'm glad this is finally up! Thank you everyone involved, and thank you Graham/LRR for the Update Video and Link to the Documentary.
Welp, this video is a record making hit. Getting me to cry in the first thirty seconds beats every Pixar movie ever made. I know y'all might not see yourselves as one, but after watching a video on the good superheroes embody, it's seeing that come out in real life that also made me tear up even more. Y'all are actual heroes, for real.
Great to finally see this out in the public for everyone. Nearly 2000 people on the Kickstarter were able to stream it back in August 2017, but tons more should watch this too. Just as good the second time around.
I backed the doc a long time ago and I'm so happy I got to watch it now - Desert Bus is so important, and Child's Play is so important, and it's a blast to see more of how such objective good comes together.
Just got an answer during the DBOH live stream. The following is paraphrased a bit: It's a chain. Totally fine. A little more expensive. Food is adequate. BUT there are so many other amazing places to eat in the area.
I was excited about this when it came out, but I just wasn't ready to watch it at the time. Now, years later, this was suddenly exactly what I needed on a random Friday. Thank you to everyone involved in the event, the documentary, and the charity.
Thank you so much! I'm looking forward to getting folks to watch this. Maybe they'll finally understand why I essentially disappear for a week every year in November.
Crap. I search for the url to note down to watch some time later. Accidentally watched over 15 minutes before I remembered I wasn’t able to spend any time now watching. Why did you have to make it so damn good!?
Maybe I'll just rewatch this wonderful doc yearly when I start to already miss Desert Bus.
This video is EXCELLENT. And Graham's late-video statement of "this isn't from personal experience, but" is gut-wrenching, knowing that he'd be fighting cancer himself five years later. (With full recovery, but still.)
Everyone looks so young, especially penelope......Serge never ages.
It's the coffee.
Ian's himself
The bit cutting to Graham on the scissor lift with no music was so good.
Checking in 12/27/2023 and DB23 managed to break TEN MILLION dollars lifetime.
Haha "I am Matt Wiggins how much more of an answer do you want"
THIS IS THE TALE! OF BUSSIN' MATT WUBBINS!
What Kathleen and Graham say at 22:07 are the reason why I never had any doubt that Desert Bus would happen this year, even with (gestures at world) going on, even if it would be different this year. And that gladdens me.
Desert Bus après Pandemic is going to be LIT!
wow..the stuff about bill made me cry. Holy shit.
Read this comment before watching, still wasn't prepared for the emotions...
We still really miss that big guy.

I remember watching this last year, the Bill stuff hurts
'Bill was our asshole and we love him.' SOBBING.
I forgot just how much they f'ing NAILED the Hamilton intro
Well, that was the perfect thing to watch in my post-Desert Bus haze... now excuse me while I go cry some more 😭😭😭
By the gods, that trip to the hospital with Liz... that broke me.

also it was already backed on kickstarter in the first place
Not saying this made me cry... but uh... this made me cry. Beautiful documentary. Love the LRR folk. They make me wanna be a better person.
This made me realise more then I ever had before just how much these guys sacrifice to make desert bus happen
The long shot starting at 41:55 is so damn spectacular.
And of course the reverse at 1:43:35!
42:09, Griffiths? coming into shot at left?
And to think they've done two-thousand ten more since then. Talk about dedication!
Wow, this DB seems like soo long ago. I miss Jer and Tally.
Cant wait till this years starts later today!
Will never not rewatch this when it shows up in my suggested vids. Keep on bussing!

I love that the chair has a story arc.

That music starts, and I can't help my hands forming a "Z".
Oh good, I'm not the only one conditioned to do that!
#ZetaShift4Life
I think someone on Discord once said that they can't help but to want to rotate the cushions every time that song plays/ends
Due to Timezones, Zeta is very much my shift.
Same.
Three minutes in and I'm already almost happy-crying.
Thankyou Desert Bus For Hope.
For the hope.
The Bill vid made me cry 😢
When I think about what a force for good is, Desert Bus is up there with the best. All of you make the world a better place.

1:19:00 is the most hillarious cut in the whole thing.
It's such a bussing shame that TH-cam hasn't promoted this more. It's a bussing shame TH-cam hasn't promoted this to me until now.
This video makes me so happy. Long live desert bus. forever.
Wowsers, for a LTR newcomer this explains a LOT of what I'd been missing. Thanks for hosting this!
Thank you all so much for this. Can't wait for the virtual bus to take off in roughly 36 hours
I should not have chosen to watch this while trying to work. I'm not crying, you're crying!
Oh boy, watching this like 7ish hours before this year's DBFH goes live is kind of the perfect emotional moodsetter. Thank you all for making this possible
Everybody should be super proud of themselves
So many beautiful people in this movie.
Cthulu's power to bend reality has really helped Ashley meet shipping targets over the years.
Now that I've finished the video. This is good stuff. Congrats to everyone who was a part of this. Bravo!
I love these people. I first saw them for their magic the gathering content but once I saw what desert bus was I could only feel my like for them turn to genuine love and admiration. You all rule
I feel bad for Brown Social House, getting dragged during a documentary. Seems important.
This video needs more views. Been following LRR for years. They're a great group of people who makes amazing content.
The editing at 1:19:00 broke me. Well done! Great documentary.

What an absolute trip, dang
Great leadup to this years DB Event :)
Happy to finally have a place to link friends to for an explanation, when singing the praise of DB.
Wait, Kathleen - why shouldn't we go to Brown's Social House? I need to know!
Me too! I must know!
Never mind that the chances of me actually being able to visit Victoria any time soon are practically nil. 😂
I have a mighty need to know! Why must we avoid Brown's Social House?
That has to be a question answered in this years Desert Bus, surely?
