GM were super angry at Saab, because when they told them to slap a label on a stock GM car, they instead took it literally to pieces and made a whole new one. Saab may not have been profitable, but goddamn they made good cars.
Honestly, the Saab 900 Turbo SPG is one of my achievable dream cars. That shape is just so iconic and attractive, and you can get them at a pretty good price these days.

I really do appreciate the fact that they were able to use a car from 1999, a year after I was born, to drive over a significant portion of Canada. It really sheds light to the durability of certain vehicles with maintenance, and caring for them
I'm still watching for Road Quest 2: The Trans-Canada. Featuring a stop at the Stampede to make the former Albertans face what they have abandoned in the most over the top way possible.
Replacing the vague and undirected (and occasionally problematic) boorishness of Top Gear with the energetic and carefree dynamic of the LRR crew works way, way better than I anticipated, and I want Episode 2 in my eyeballs like right now.
Fun realisation - the full Road Quest episode count is approximately as long as one self-isolation work-from-home day. Guess who just found some new easily repeatable background viewing?

To be fair, Louis, a Crown Vic never dies in its FIRST in-CAR-nation. This one has not only served its time, and as others have said, the departments that used them (read ALL OF THEM) "Rode them hard and put them away wet", but quite probably passed over the boarder (legally or otherwise) to boot. To be blunt, I'm surprised it passed the vehicle safety inspection in the first place.
I was honestly sceptical about this show and didn't get the hype in the LRR community, but GOD DAMN this is a great start. You guys just keep making what inspires you because it hasn't failed you yet.
After watching Road Quest all the way through twice, I finally got my driver's license at 27. Thanks guys! Edit: Got a car, planning road trip. Like actually thank you.

I come back to it regularly, it's a really good chill time with some very funny moments, lots of gorgeous shots and honestly impressive production value. I know y'all are proud of it and you deserve to be. Thanks for making it.
Clearly I'm going to love this series. I've already watched it five times start to finish. For some reason, I find it impossibly relaxing. My literal only gripe, and it's a fairly sizable one, is that Cameron is not in it.
I must say, I have sometimes been a bit curious about Beej and his ability to run a show since the comedy sketches don’t bring out his strengths out in this phenomenal manner that is Road Quest. Awesome production! Go Beej!

Apparently newer (2008+) cars they started to do away with filters entirely? At least that's what my friend is saying, especially Ford. I wouldn't know as my latest car is a 2015 VW diesel and it HAS to have a filter that I can plainly see when I open the hood. Those things are massive. Every vehicle before that was 99 and earlier.
Holy moley this was SO worth the wait. I have to know what happens next. I have to admit I was skeptical when this series kept getting the "It's coming, we promise, just not... yet" treatment... but now that the fruits of all the (insane) labor that must have gone into this are here for us to enjoy... wow. Can't wait to see the rest. Also, I can't explain how stoked I am that one of the cards is a Saab 900. My old man drove Saab 9000's, 900's, and 9-3's for much of my young life, and seeing that sucker pull into frame was just the right kind of nostalgia to have me hooked for the duration. I hope that the 900 makes it the whole series, because that is one hell of a car.
That ferry anxiety (and last passenger elation) applies to your neighbors down the sound as well. Feels great to be the last one on, I think that's happened to me 3 times so far.
So glad Road Quest is finally here! It's not as fast-paced and snappy as some of my favorite LRR content, but I think that this series is going to have great rewatch value for me as something to have playing in the background while I work on stuff.
I must say this is phenomenal, when James pulled up with a convertible I thought, ok probably not gonna get the clearest sound in that car, but holy shit. I don't know if it's a testament to the editing, equipment, or both but amazing work either way. This was an amazing first episode and worth every damn minute of wait.

I have been to BC only once and can confirm that the Squamish and Whistler areas are incredible. Im just pleased that I know the areas they are driving, though I doubt it will be that way for long :'D
There are times when the buildup anticipation for something ultimately leads to disappointment. This is NOT one of those times! Already with just one episode, I can say that this was worth the wait!

I'm here now, watching for the third time and by gods this is one of the best things I've ever watched. I'm so incredibly thrilled to have this as my Tuesday wake-up calls for the next weeks. I have nothing but good words for the entire show. Definitely can't wait for next week!!

The real key is that they aren't trapped so they leave quick, normally it's going to be buzzing around the back window for most of the trip.

I never knew Beej was that mechanically inclined. Every option he gave at the end is possible, but here's one that everyone misses: fuel filter.
