Bob Tasca III couldn't contain his enthusiasm. And regardless of what happened the night before with two blockbuster speed runs being disallowed in Top Fuel, Tasca knew his team had pulled off quite the feat as he drove to the provisional No. 1 qualifier during the first day of qualifying at the PRO Superstar Shootout.
Joining Tasca atop their respective fields were Clay Millican (Top Fuel) and Dallas Glenn (Pro Stock).
Defending NHRA world champion Erica Enders was the quickest of the day with a 6.489 elapsed time at 211.99 mph.

That is how a video should be done, the race, the times, PERIOD. Thank you for that!!!
Agree!!
I’ve never seen so many Top Fuel cars run side by side like that before with so few issues. The track prep down at Bradenton must be in awesome shape for this
It’s so awesome
Missed it by - that much….lol
When I read Bob ran the fastest FC mph ever I thought for sure he broke the 340 mark
But no, just barely nipped Hight’s previous record….saving it for another day ( or night)
Congratulations to all the members of team Tasca, Great Job! 👍🏻🍻😎
Congrats to Bob. From Providence, RI
Day-am., You don't get that many side by side races unless the track surface is world class. Bradenton looks like a little country track on camera, but sure seems to run real good events!
All great runs. No mishaps Straight and true just the way we like it! Thanks
I don’t think you watched the right lane
This edit with just the runs.... Bro this is how we speed watch racing Great job on the coverage!!!
I still wanna see Mullet, Ruby and Mcflurry race those pro stock cars!!!
Never happen. They're entirely different classes. Not in actual competition anyway.
Only one fast enough is mullet. I don't remember ruby or mcflurry ever running 6.50's
It takes at least 2000 hp to run mid 6 second ET's.........and Ruby nor McFlurry make anywhere close to that. They are both closer to 1500 hp. With their current engine set ups, they would be hard pressed to run a 7.25. @@nutcrackernoonan3637
They'd need radial prep in their lane. Mullet 6.30s, Mcflurry 6.99. Ruby isn't a 6 second car, at least for now.
That won't be enough to run deep into the 6's for Ruby or McFlurry. And just because McFlurry made a single 6.99 pass, was under perfect conditions plus everything went exactly right. Recall, this was a very difficult feat for them to pull off. Like I said earlier: both McFlurry and/or Ruby would be hard pressed to run low 7's ON A CONSISTENT BASIS. Example: my younger brother once owned ( from 2005 through 2008 ) an early 90's Chevy PU truck. It had a Dart ( Chevy ) 434 cu in small block with all forged internals, NATURALLY ASPIRATED with a TH400 built transmission. Mast aluminum heads, tunnel ram with duel 4 bbls. Dana rear with Strange axles. Aluminum fuel cell in the truck bed. Big Mickey Thompson tires on the rear. Too many go-fast parts to list here. One of Junior Johnson's former engine builders built that motor, and he did it up right. This truck was NOT lightened in any way, it even had the full interior w/bench seat. That truck consistently ran mid to low 11's...........which is flat hauling ass for a full sized, full weight, normally aspirated PU truck. However, one day, in perfect conditions, it ran a 10.89. We were all shocked to say the least. But did we consider it "a 10 second truck"? NO. Because we couldn't repeat another 10 second pass to save our life, and he owned it for 2.5 yrs after making that 10.89 pass. @@the318pop
Somebody is going to run 340 mph this year.
I agree. Its going to be quite a record.
Most likely will be the final MPH barrier for FC
@@ChuckyLarms...no, After 340 Will be 350!
Maybe this weekend.
It will be epic when it happens!!!!
Hard to tell what was better, the cars or the track.Awesome straight runs.
Daaaang they were throwing down the numbers. 340 is gonna happen 👍
Is there any chance that track being added to NHRA schedule?
Great video. Much better than them other videos with all the chit chat. Good job.
Damn!!!! 331mph is almost 500 feet/second!!! Holy FF!!!
Great video work!!
Shame they had to have Pro Slug there too.
F’n A that was a rush! I had no idea. Wow
are these all NHRA Legal runs???? Or are they in some kind of outlaw trim?
That’s the same speed as Hight in 2017.
If the rules didn't keep limiting them there is no telling how quick and fast they would be.
Those things are FLYING, how do they keep it straight going that fast ?
They are skilled and their cars are designed to do it.
Jeff Lutz ran a 6.15 during sick week.
Ya with boost. I know where you're coming from though. I wish pro stock would use at least a factory shell and engine block. But that's what factory x is for. Too little too late on NHRA's part imo.
Hell the green mustang ran like a 6.26 with a 275 radial.... and completed sick week @@BloatedGopher
Shows just how well built the Drag n Drive cars have to be, to survive the miles and run these speeeds and times.
@@BloatedGopher Is Jeff still running the SMX? That's a beast of an engine.
@@longstroke1982 Oh I saw that too and it's mighty impressive. But Pro Stock is running these kinda times NA still. Also pretty impressive.
yall do realize tasca tied robert for speed right
Left lane for FTW...as usual
Was the fastest tied .....
It was. 339.87, 339.87. But the new standard is 341.68. Not an official record but still a record.
340mph in 1000’ is hauling azz!!! If they were still running a 1/4 mile 350mph would be possible imo!!!
Question is, will the engine survive to 1320 feet when you are producing 12,000+ hp out of a 500 cubic inch engine. That is roughly 1,500 hp out of each cylinder. That is a lot of strain on the engine and parts.
@@darrellbobyk6363 It use to back in the day!! Fuel cars are gonna blow up no matter what but you try to keep the damage as minimal as possible! I love the smell and sounds of NITRO
Fuel Cars have a lot of limit by NHRA rules..... nitro%, gearings, weight, aero, rev limit, cubic inches, electronics....and many many others.....with less restriction They could top way over 350/60 in 1/4.....
@@m_frenk If they didn’t the drivers and fans wouldn’t be safe that’s for sure!!
@@m_frenk I doubt they'd be much faster. Aero drag at those speeds are absolutely astronomical and the engines won't stay together if they're allowed to run no-limit equipment. Speaking of 340, Tasca rang the bell tonight. 341.68
