Buying last-gen on sale is the real deal... I picked up a MSI Raider a few weeks ago with a i7, 3080TI, 32GB, 1TB for under $1400 which was a steal! There are definitely deals out there if you are patient.
acer gaming laptops are nice as well and have some ability to upgrade got one with a 17.3 inch screen, ryzen 5800h processor, and rtx 3060 for about 800 in December last year
Actually acer is the worst brand for gaming laptops. Gamer nexus went over it. They have significantly worse performance then other laptops with the same specs and have thermal problems. They are also the cheapest brand tho so it’s not all bad.
@@scarlaid I honestly like my acer nitro 5. can't call it cool but have seen similar temps out of other brands. seen others that run in the 95 c territory and mine maxes at 91c on the cpu. big items on the nitro 5 is space for a second m.2, space and mounting hardware for a 2.5 drive and ability to upgrade ram.
@@KitsuneVoss perspective I see Nitro 5 was never appealing to me because it looks like it was based on Lamborghini. Their performance was really not my favourite. While ASUS giving me good experience, even on just the rtx3050 we go with different path in choosing brands, so yeah
@@scarlaid My old gaming laptop was an ASUS G751 with a 4th Gen i7 and a GTX 980M. Great machine with plenty of volume for cooling fans. Also has a Blu Ray Rom, something I miss these days. I also miss having bays you can just open up to upgrade ram, replace drives, and such. Still have it in my closet as a backup. Need to charge the battery soon again so the battery doesn't die. Love an upgraded to modern standards version of the G751. 17.3 inch gaming laptops really are too big for "laps" so don't mind its bulk.
I just don't get "gaming" laptops, even for the sale price of this one you can build a pretty decent rig, with at least a used 6600xt or even a 6700xt if used

Meh, with prices dropping. I’d still build a pc at the price this laptop is going for but not all people have the space for a tower/monitor/keyboard/mouse
@@Logan-dc6hz I was even thinking about getting a Mac mini to play Minecraft because you can get it for a pretty good deal. Do you have any good laptops in mind
If only game devs optimize their games, we wont need the top tier hardwares, but now only nintendo knows how to optimize games, and they wont port their games to pc
@@DerpUSA2025 it’s not. Toasty bro showed us there is a way to build a gaming pc for cheap, he’s giving us solutions, not just whine and whine to get more subscribers. And I respect that.
I got so screwwwed with my laptop.. it's a gtx 1650ti.. for over $800 .. I didn't know about gpus at the time, I only did a little research, and Nvidia gtx sounded good because I thought all their cards were called gtx..like the gtx 1080ti etc.. I didn't know the good cards were RTX! I got fooled
It’s funny how certain PC gamers hate on consoles but then say a PC that performs way worse than a console and is double the price is a good Pc. PS5 runs Apex at 4K high settings with a locked 60 fps and this PC can barely do 1080p at low settings at 60 fps 😭
This laptop isn't double the price, even at MSRP ($899.99 USD), and it's still a computer that can do all the other computer stuff. A PS5 is still a PS5, and can't do computer stuff. At $650, I'd take this over a PS5 all day long.
Because the PC can do more than just game, but also game lol. On console you have games and media like Netflix and Hulu, that's basically it. On PC you can do work, edit videos, make music, draw art, pretty much have anything you want at your fingertips The laptop is also probably a little smaller and you can take it with you anywhere without needing a display to hook it up to. I'm not a fan of laptops either, but I'd take even this thing over a PS5 any day
I have a razer blade with a 2070 max q and i7 10750h. It’s valued at 500$ used and recommends maxed out settings 4k for apex. Which is what I play at due to my monitor being a 4k 60hz monitor
@Y Yeezyy I got my build from ToastyBros actually, an R5 5500 and RX 6600, spent like $200 less building it than I did on my scalped PS5. It runs everything even better than my PS5. Best switch I ever made
@@Chukijay It is double the price when you consider the fact that a PS5 is $400 and comes with a $70 controller for free while you’ll need a mouse for the laptop for decent gaming which it doesn’t come with. Also most people already have regular computers to do other stuff and phones can work just as good too so all that really matters is the gaming performance not productivity when you’re looking for a gaming device
