Quick story : INFINITE when they joined woolim it wasn't a company they were dealing with bankruptcy at that time (they didn't have a building) they were practicing under a local restaurant in a small room and they were signing in karaokes and running beside the river everyday with signing and they invented their own choreography, at that time it was impossible to win if you are not one of the top 3 companies but the CEO sold his house and invested all his money in their comeback as rookies (be mine) and they got their first win and became realllllly popular in korea.
the problem with infinite and many groups from the 2nd gen who are not part of the big3 is that their legacy has been erased specially for the big3 that want to pretend that only their groups were relevant but putting to a side what groups like teen top, Beast, Sistar, T-ara, Kara and Infinite did for the kpop... The Chaser was one of the most succesful songs in korea making infinite on of the top 5 best selling groups in 2012 and it was so well received by the critique that billboard used this comeback as the beginning of the kpop section in billboard, and put it as the best kpop song of 2012
NOT JUST IN 2012 INFINITE WAS IN TOP TOP 7 BEST SELLING ALBUM IN 2011 AND FROM 2012-2015 THEY WERE TOP 5 of best selling groups u wanna know who was in front of infinite in those years SM artist as much as i like suju, snsd, exo they had the company privilige along with their talent. INFINITE HAD THEIR RAW TALENT NOTHING else and they manage to stay relevant for so many years along with beast.
I don't think the Big 3 can erase anyone, there are too many groups from other companies who have risen up over the years to pretend like the Big 3 are the only ones that have ever been relevant. Maybe only the weird company stans who like to think their company is the best and no one else is important😂
@@luffyd.aceroger8254that's true, the only albums that ranked ahead of them those few years on Gaon (now Circle) were by artists from the Big 3. The next groups to be able to say that were BTS and Seventeen. They were as popular as you could really get for a non-Big 3 artist at the time.
@@shusukepanda It's all about media play and marketing, if you see any article or show talking about legends in kpop what they would say Super Junior, Girls' Generation, BIGBANG, 2NE1, Wonder Girls, etc... All the media in shows and everything they are not the fans this is the big companies talking about it, like even in minimum things like the finger heart there's a bunch of articles about G-Dragon supposedly being the creator of that... But was Nam Woohyun of INFINITE, he was who everyday created a new heart and popularized the finger heart
@@shusukepanda and yes fandom hace a huge part in this in a active and pasive way, actively talking like only the big3 matter, but also in a pasive way because obviously they would repeat the media play of the big3 in an ignorance way that I can't blame, since the same media makes look like there was nothing appart of the Big3 (also Hybe does this with the media around BTS making them look like the only group who make famous kpop arounf the world ignoring the fact that concerts and other artists already had a fandom outside of Korea... But there's the media play with all the "pave the way")

Fun fact, at that time Jaden Jeong was working in the Ar department of Woollim and it is known that he was part of the production team of Infinite at that time, he appears in the credits of The Chaser and in many other Infinite projects, as he was already preparing the Lovelyz project, and giving hints about them in part of Infinite's projects (sungkyu solo and subunits). It is also known that he was the one who suggested the creation of the subunits Infinite H and Infinite F, when he left Woollim both subunits stopped promoting.
People hate him but you can't deny he's the mastermind behind the best groups, songs, visuals and direction in all of K-pop!

They are my favorite 2nd gen boygroup and a LOT of their songs slap this hard.
The guy in the car is L or Kim Myungsoo. He is also an actor. In this mv he was put in the car and got more than 30 times of spinning. Kim Sungkyu was having a fever while filming the raining scence. No matter what, Infinite always deliver the best thing to us. I love them so much. Thanks for enjoying their music.

This was the height of THE ERA. Kpop would never be the same the moment I heard this and realized there was a group outside of the Big 3 that deserved to be stanned so hard I'd wear emo bangs and eyeliner till kingdom come. This group served, vocals, choreo, music, presence and stole my heart, organs and soul. They started 7, one half of their rapper left in 2017. I think it would be advisable to watch their Killing Voice first (where the remaining 6 are featured so you can get up to speed and check out that immaculate discography which KV barely covered). And then just enjoy....
not a lot of people react to them nowadays so I'm glad youtube recommended this to me 🤧 for me infinite has one of the most solid discographies in kpop history
The key change of Woohyun in The Chaser is what saved world in 2012 😂😂 anyways you should check Dongwoo's single album as you liked his Rap part and Woohyun also had a cb recently so you can check "Sunshine" by Woohyun. And check recent CB of Infinite "Flower"

You would probably enjoy Kara, Nine Muses, Boyfriend also since Sweetune composed a large chunk of their title tracks. By the way, the reason you have never heard anyone cover this is probably because groups usually cover Infinite's Be Mine, also this song is very hard to cover😅
Most of their discography is heavy on electric guitar and string instruments, so if you like that sound you'll enjoy most of their songs.
P.S. they released an instrumental album, the instrumental of this song is on it and it's just as good.

The Chaser is my fav kpop song of all time hahahah I got obsessed when it came out and I'm still obsessed. Including all my kpop friends as well. I think this is the best song Sweetune has made so far. If it wasn't that Gangnam Style became so popular that year (2012), The Chaser would have won Song of the Year.

The chaser is fantastic it was the nub 1 song of 2012 on billboard and is also still in billboards top 100 of all time . Infinite were also voted best boy band by rolling stone . They’re not part of the big three but they held there own against them with their fantastic live vocals and there great dancing skills. After a 5 year hiatus they came back with a bang in 2023 and are just as good you should definitely check out more of there tracks they have lots of great ones to choose from

I want to be your best friend so bad especially if you are going to keep reacting to my favorite groups! Infinite is insanely talented and their discography is so unlike any other kpop group. Yes, Sunggyu was the one in peak time! He is the leader of Infinite and CEO of Infinite Company the company they created for Infinite's music after they left their old label. L (Myungsoo) is the one spinning in the car and he is also an established kdrama actor. The other members are Dongwoo, Sungyeol, Woohyun, and Sungjong. This video also includes Hoya who was a previous member of Infinite who left to do solo work. I'd highly recommend watch Infinite's Killing Voice which came out last year when they had their comeback (FINALLY) for "New Emotions."
