I especially loved the dynamic between Yoda and Anakin in this arc, especially with how playful and mischevious Yoda was toward Anakin. It very much so reminded þe ot Yoda and Luke'a dynamic when they first met in The Empire Strikes Back
It's nice to have a warm moment between them where Yoda shows Anakin that he respects him & acknowledges what makes him unique. :) Makes ya wonder whay could have been, if only the other council members thought the same. Or if only Yoda had been there for Anakin to confide in at the end, instead of Mace...
30:17 yes, contrary to the way he trains Luke... but maybe these episodes show the moment where he learned how to train Luke. A character being different in a prequel is only poor if we do not see them grow to become the person we later see. Sure it contradicts his actions in the future. But that'd be like saying Anakin cracking jokes is contradictory to Darth Vader because Vader would never do that. But we understand that the character has changed and grown.
The book about Darth Bane, who I believe is now retconned sadly, was really good. How he established the Rule of Two through some insanely hard experiences.
One of the Unfinished Clone Wars arcs was a boba fett vs. cadd bane showdown that resulted in bobas helmet dent and the death of bane. They later adapted this into Book of Boba Fett. The unfinished footage can be found on Utube
One of the cool things about this arc is that you can see just how masterful of swordsman Count Dooku is. He was able to hold off two fully trained Jedi in Anakin and Obi-wan. And how did he do that? See Anakin is the master of Offense, always going in hard and always asking questions later, while Obi-wan is the master of defense, always thinking and always having a plan. Dooku knows this so he kinda reverses the roles. Notice how Dooku always keeps Obi-wan away, pushing him, while focusing most of his energy on Anakin. He can keep attacking Anakin who has to focus on defense, and when Obi-wan goes to try and attack, he can easily deflect it cause his attacks are predictable. Still hard to do cause it’s two fully realized Jedi, but then you can fully appreciate how good Dooku actually is because of it.

7:01 Dooku is more of a fencer. His lightsaber combat style is known as Makashi (Form II) Excellent against most styles, like fencing, making small cuts, breaking down their defenses. Which is why Obi-Wan has such a hard time fighting him

Also... Imagine this is when the show got cancelled (again) and we had to wait over 10 years for its actual ending by surviving with drafts and story boards of some of the planned episodes (some of which didn't even make it to season 7 and others had scenes removed)
People were saying that Dooku knows how to fight Anakin and Kenobi very well. He puts Obi wan on the attack and Anakin on the defensive, throws them off balance
So, the priestesses Yoda met in this arc are a manifestation of the Whills and they are quite the big deal. Back in the day when Lucas created the scripts for the original trilogy, he already had plans for more movies in the future. The legend says in addition to fully developed scripts for episodes IV, V, and VI, he showed to his closest staff members not only a layout for the story of the prequels, but also drafts for the sequel trilogy, which Disney was presented with when they bought LucasFilms and completely dismissed it in favour of whatever it is that we got, and also for a final trilogy, for which is known very little. So, in the original draft of Lucas' episodes VII, VIII, and IX Luke was supposed to have discovered that what gives force abilities to beings are actually microscopic organisms, called The Whills, who are not only sentient, but control every action everyone has ever made, hence the entire prophecy of bringing balance to the force and the neverending conflict between jedi and sith through the millenia is of their design. The sequel trilogy was essentially supposed to be a battle for free will against Gods. 20th Century Fox pressured LucasFilms that it seems impossible this was not known in a developed society of gifted force users with millenial traditions (The Jedi Order) and Lucas seperated the concept into two: 1) Midi-chlorians - the microscopic organisms "whithout which ... we would have no knowledge of the Force...", bacause "... they continually speak to us, telling us the will of the Force" (quoting Qui-Gon from Episode I) - thus the Jedi would know what gives them their abilities, but would not know that they're being controlled through it; and 2) The Whills - a community of beings who feed off the Force; They were not named or in any way developed in that draft, but there was a mention of "other beings on par with the Whills", meaning God-tier lever, were supposed to aid Luke in Episode IX, but they were supposed to be The Father, the Son, and the Daughter in the Clone Wars arc on Mortis, who are living embodiments of the Force. As a side note - Qui-Gon learned how to retain his consciousness after death through The Journal of the Whills, which is one of the sacred books that Luke had in Episode VIII. Anyway, according to Lucas' draft the trilogy would end at the Temple of the Kyber on the planet Jeddha with Luke against a force-weilding shaman order known as The Guardians of the Whills. Disney scrapped the storyline, but inserted it into Rogue One as a subplot, so they could profit from books expanding the lore. Casian Andor explained to Jyn Erso that Chirrut (I'm one with the Force and the Force is with me) and Baze are Guardians of the Whills protecting the kyber crystal and that their temple was destroyed, hinting that what was supposed to be Luke's ark in the sequel trilogy happened centuries or millenia ago and The Whills lost their TOTAL control over living beings - in the Wookiepedia it's listed as cannon that The Whills control the universe by creating a destiny for every sentient being, but the being still has the free will to follow their destiny or not, which is not the original concept. In it no one could escape their fate.
I believe that sequence of the jedi running and fighting is the scene on geonosis where the order runs at the droid army in the arena to save anakin and padma. I can't wait for your reaction to episode 12!!
@@matejmatthewbures6300 no they haven't watched the finale. Jen posts on Instagram when they film and they haven't watched any of S7 yet as far as we know.
With the show being cancelled after season 5 and season 6 being just what they had on hand when it got cut off, we had to wait 6 and a half years for them to bring the back for the final season
Yoda was absolutely arrogant before the downfall of the Jedi. That's why he and the other Jedi failed to spot their doom in time to prevent it. Sidious check-mated them the moment the clone war began.
This was the last episode of the series before The Final Season was picked up for Disney+. You can tell there's meant to be a sort of conclusion at the end.
7:56 On the topic of Anakin saying his powers doubled in Ep.3, he could also have been exaggerating since he had such a high opinion of himself anyway.
Lol. Sounds like Dobby. It's a reference to Ben Gunn from treasure Island written in 1880s he went crazy alone on an island kind of a trope been reused a lot.
A point about Yoda not talking about the Syfo-Dyas-Dooku connection. The Jedi are basically screwed at this point. They KNOW something is up with the clones and that Dooku and the Sith helped them get their army. The problem is they're in the middle of a war and if they withdraw the troops, the Jedi will be overrun. Their best option is to end the war as fast as possible.
Hey, Holden and Jen! Although you've already seen the series, you were supposed to see the Utapau Arc story reels, read the "Dark Disciple" prose novel and read the "Son of Dathomir" comic book before commencing Season 7. If you didn't, you missed a lot! That is the only way to find out what happens to Ventress and to learn some major revelations about Talzin and Maul! The comic has been converted to a fully voice-acted motion comic on TH-cam. Your loss if you skip these essentials.
If this is the only first time you have doubted Yoda and the decisions of the council, you haven't been paying attention and have missed the point of the prequels. The rules and customs of the Jedi at this point in time have been utterly corrupted by the Jedi's own fear of the dark side and the sith. Fear being something they caution against but fail to see in themselves. It led them to create the very cauldron of intolerance that leads to Anakin's fall from grace and made them all vulnerable to the manipulations of Darth Sidious.
Really shows how strong Yoda's will is. He was told Anakin was the key to the sith plan. Despite that Yoda still chose to save him. I'm sure Mace for example would have allowed him to drop.
Yoda mentioning they had already lost I think is acknowledging he knew they would fail and luke was the real victory so he almost played a dr strange infinity war role.
Dokus curved light saber is specifically designed to make it easier to fight with one hand and it freaked out yoda because that would only really be better against enemies with light sabers but at the time they didn’t know there were any sith
You probably heard... But they tie season 7 into the end of Rebels which aired before season 7 of the Clone Wars. I was shocked and overjoyed when I realized there was a season 7. I'm sure you've already watched them in whichever order you decided months ago, so it will be interesting to see how you react to the main events concerning certain individuals who take center stage in each series. In whichever order you see them I think the story is memorable enough to be able to see one or the other as a "flashback." (Or you will be getting a super early "who the f is that" moment with Ezra.) Or you watch certain arcs multiple times just because they're just that good. Which you almost want to do in the Star Wars canon. There are a few time periods all interwoven and they weave a wonderful tapestry.
This arc explored more of the star wars lore. This journey showed yoda what's wrong with the jedi council and it was not jedi's part for joining the war. He understand there should be failure of clone wars should happen for a better future after darkness.
I love how they subtly yet clearly showed Anakin's true power by making him hear Qui-Gon's voice by accident. The whole council meditated and sensed nothing but Anakin did. 30:05 Jedi were arrogant during the Clone War, even Yoda. It's why they lost. It's not contradictory because it precedes Luke's training.
That said, I’d continue straight into The Bad Batch after finishing Clone Wars. The Bad Batch is a direct sequel to Clone Wars (continuing the story as to the clones generally…what happens to the clones after the Empire is established), is short (1 hour long episode and 15 episodes about 20-25 mins (subtracting credits) that could easily be finished in 4-6 weeks if they continue watching them in bunches, and season 2 is coming in January, which they could then watch weekly live while also watching Rebels in 2-3 episode batches.
To me the jedi seem to believe a lot in fate, so maybe when Yoda doesn't do anything about his discoveries in this episode is because he believes fate is inevitable. When he asks about the fate of the jedi, he is told that nobody wins in war and that hope comes in forms not looked for. So he just knows that the jedi will prevail. Also: sometimes things seem more obvious when you see the process of something where you already know the outcome.
Darth Bane had been the chosen one of the Sith a thousand years before the og trilogy, he tricked the rest of the ancient Sith into killing themselves, becoming the sole survivor and embodying the Sith. To have the guy who is the Jedi chosen one voice him feels so poignant about the duality of the force.
I was really peeved at LucasFilm when George said that his treatments for the Sequel Trilogy would be a lot more of like this and the Mortis Arc. Such a wasted opportunity.
Darth Bane lived about a thousand years before the Clone Wars, but all Sith who followed him followed a law that he created called the Rule Of Two: Two there shall be, no more, no less. One master, and one apprentice. One to embody power, the other to crave it.
I rly want Disney to make an animated series of the origins of the sixth and Jedi. Seeing dearth bane was so cool. Give me an origin of of light and dark set before or during the old republic
My favorite thing about Yoda in this arc is that he learns that he needs to stop trying to end the war and allow the sith to win, for their victory will sow their own defeat. He comes to terms that in order for the light to prevail, he must allow his entire order to be genocide, for the order and the republic are both highly corrupted by their own arrogance and ignorance. He realizes his judgement on Ahsoka was wrong, it was their ignorance that nearly had her executed for crimes she did not commit, his hubris for which could have turned his views to the dark side if seduced at the right time and his arrogance that the jedi he taught were truly peacekeepers. So in short he knew what would happened at the end of the clone wars, Anakin turning and all, but allowed it to happen as it would create a better world in the long run and he could always teach his friends in death how to become one with the cosmic force.
29:31 That‘s one of my critiscm I have with towards prequel trilogy. Afterwards, Clone Wars tried to show it from a different perspective to make it more relatable for the viewers in the bigger context.

"Victory we may yet find. Not victory in the clone wars, but victory, for all time*"
*Until 30 years later when the empire re-establishes itself as the First Order and repeats the OT but worse, and also invalidates the chosen one prophecy

Holden and Jen if only you knew how close you two are to some of the best Star Wars content ever released
Some parts of Bane trilogy is actually canon with a few difference.
Seeing R2 help Yoda here makes episode 5 all the more funnier when he smacks him with his stick
Lol I didn’t think about that
One of the Unfinished Clone Wars arcs was a boba fett vs. cadd bane showdown that resulted in bobas helmet dent and the death of bane.

His lightsaber combat style is known as Makashi (Form II)
Excellent against most styles, like fencing, making small cuts, breaking down their defenses. Which is why Obi-Wan has such a hard time fighting him
4:34 That is a Pike which you have seen MULTIPLE times before. That pike specifically is also the leader of the Pike Syndicate who you have also SEEN before.
And now onto season 7! Can’t wait for your take in the final Ashoka arc in season 7.
Also... Imagine this is when the show got cancelled (again) and we had to wait over 10 years for its actual ending by surviving with drafts and story boards of some of the planned episodes (some of which didn't even make it to season 7 and others had scenes removed)
As Sidious said: Your arrogance blinds you master Yoda
Dooku is just too goated. Notice how he puts Anakin on the defense and Obi-Wan on the attack. Which makes them both fight in their weaknesses.
Oooh Baby... be ready for an emotional rollercoaster in Season 7
I believe that sequence of the jedi running and fighting is the scene on geonosis where the order runs at the droid army in the arena to save anakin and padma. I can't wait for your reaction to episode 12!!

With the show being cancelled after season 5 and season 6 being just what they had on hand when it got cut off, we had to wait 6 and a half years for them to bring the back for the final season
Watched your stream today, CONGRATS on the new Human! Theoden is a good name for a boy, A Kingly name.
Yoda was absolutely arrogant before the downfall of the Jedi. That's why he and the other Jedi failed to spot their doom in time to prevent it. Sidious check-mated them the moment the clone war began.
You know if they showed this episode to Christopher Lee...he'd be like, "I don't remember that, but nice to see I kicked some butt!"
This was the last episode of the series before The Final Season was picked up for Disney+. You can tell there's meant to be a sort of conclusion at the end.
There’s an arc in Rebels that ties back to this. That show will also have arcs and characters that are referenced in Ahsoka
7:56 On the topic of Anakin saying his powers doubled in Ep.3, he could also have been exaggerating since he had such a high opinion of himself anyway.
8:15 Yep, it's Neeson! He was also in one of the season 3 episodes.
FYI - Rebels takes Clone Wars and turns it up to 11. You would both love it. Not to mention lots of juicy lore and story info.
They are using Sith Alchemy to manipulate the force, which is similar to Magiks the night sisters use.
This arc explored more of the star wars lore. This journey showed yoda what's wrong with the jedi council and it was not jedi's part for joining the war. He understand there should be failure of clone wars should happen for a better future after darkness.
I'm still convinced R2 has been a spy for Palpatine since before Episode 1.
I really hope they watch the cinematic for the old republic. It's some of the best starwars content there is
The end is near
Also the only season where Ahsoka isn't around, even though she appeared in Yoda's vision in this arc
Star wars rebels is worth the watch
Really, it’s a must watch for the live action Star Wars shows, particularly the Ashoka show, which appears to be a sequel series to Rebels.
14:17 "Qui-gon, take the wheel"
Glad you guys got to this point and can’t wait for your reactions to the finale
Wow I never realized Tim Curry voiced Chancellor Palpatine in this arc.
Indeed. Tim Curry was Palpatine/Darth Sidious throughout all of Season 6 and some of Season 5.
I remember this being the last episode. It was cancelled. Finished in 2020 from 2014.
I was really peeved at LucasFilm when George said that his treatments for the Sequel Trilogy would be a lot more of like this and the Mortis Arc. Such a wasted opportunity.
The crazy guy is more like Ben Gunn’s character from ‘Treasure Island’, than he is Dobby.
Darth Bane lived about a thousand years before the Clone Wars, but all Sith who followed him followed a law that he created called the Rule Of Two: Two there shall be, no more, no less. One master, and one apprentice. One to embody power, the other to crave it.
The pykes were also in the Book of Boba Fett
Yes please watch the OG trilogy again ! :D
29:31 That‘s one of my critiscm I have with towards prequel trilogy. Afterwards, Clone Wars tried to show it from a different perspective to make it more relatable for the viewers in the bigger context.
