What do Japanese women think of dating foreign men? I interviewed 5 Japanese women in this video and asked for their opinions.
I got diverse results. One of them have a typical americentric view of western men while the other are more open to different nationalities.
They have divided opinions about marrying non-Japanese men. Some of them prefer Japanese men because of their cultural values or lack of parents' acceptance.
I also asked them what they thought of Japanese men to compare to their views of non-Japanese men. The results were quite interesting.
Another interesting point is that their travel experience seems to have little to do with their openness. This might be another area to explore.
    The questions I asked are:
    - Would you date a foreign guy?
    - Are you interested in any particular nationalities?
    - Do you have any racial preferences?
    - Would you marry a foreign guy?
    - How would you like to be approached?
    - What do Japanese guys lack these days?
    - Is there anything you like about Japanese guys?
    - Have you ever been abroad and where?

When you ask the last woman where had she been abroad. When she said philippines, you said 'nande philippines?' Which means why philippines. Why was her being in the philippines questionable?. Is philippines different from other asian countries?. Filipinos love japan and the japanese culture and the people. As do I, Sure Philippines was heavily influenced by western culture but we're stilm asian. I was just hurt that as a Filipino admiring Japan, seems like Some japanese people aren't recognizing my own country.

You say that in such a spiteful way Shakam, one could assume you're triggered by a shitty joke by playing on the stereotype put forth by pornos that white women in general would cheat on their partners with black guys. Which isn't common. You should probably also learn spacing. I mean, if you went insinuated something like 'Me: gets pike" which was a very common way Europeans in the middle ages humiliated each other.
But no, you had to go with the assumption that some white guy's wife and mom would rather be fucked by a black guy than literally do anything else.

Only to the 2D Japanese women.
The contrast between how they look like and act in the anime and real life is a bit too stark for disgust to be avoidable.
On the other hand a good looking asian woman in general is always a good option - they have good family values and work ethic - things in general lacking in Western women so as long as you can find a looker you'd be silly not to go for it.

A girl said she was very kindly treated in foreign countries, and said, if it's in Japan, Japanese won't do this much ... I think it's because you are a Japanese girl and when you ask some Japanese for "where is the place", Japanese think you understand what they say, and they know you can find the place, so they won't take you to where exactly it is. My friend, and old foreign lady, she can't speak Japanese nor English, and she tried to ask a Japanese man where is Shibuya station, that guy was almost late for his work (it was in the morning, and the old lady told me, the guy looked his watch for many times, the old lady wanted to say, "You have work, I can try to ask someone else", but she can't say English nor Japanese), he TOOK HER TO THE SHIBUYA STATION... Well, I just want to say in Japan, if you are a foreigner, they also go that far... Sorry for the comment is not really related to the video.

definitely are some social rights where women do not have all the same priveliges.
like in Saudi Arabia, women are not allowed to drive.
however in pakistan women do have tge ability to become Doctors.
the main issue is more social standing in these countries.
it is not mandatory to wear a hijab or burka,
but it is definitely frowned upon and would be considered a slut.
my sister was very harrased because we visited an arabic country for a short while.
she was not allowed to look anyone in the eye.
and it was also because she wore a short skirt.
so yeh. and altho a minority of refugees.
      sexual harassment has increased immensely.
like they believe it is mainly wrong before marriage.
but a lot of them just think it's ok and that the women are all begging for it because of the way they dress differently.

@lightsouthaha You're right many Americans do, but car culture seems to have faded away over the last 10 years.
These stories started back around 2012 and have persisted to this day. Ranging from sources like Forbes, Wall Street Journal, Business Insider, Vox, The Atlantic, NY Times, multitudes of articles from metro area newspapers (Chicago, DC, etc). Honestly you can just google something like millenials drive less or younger americans drive less (that's what I just did to list those sources).
Honestly, half the reason this is probably true is the pervasive nature of Uber and Lyft.

I thought the one girl's story at 5:26 about the guy who went out of his way to escort her to her destination was pretty interesting, particularly since she thought it couldn't happen in Japan. To the contrary, I've heard many similar stories from westerners in Japan about asking for directions and then being taken by the hand (sometimes literally) and guided directly to their destination. As a foreigner just visiting a place you often see a very different side of the people and place than do the natives.

That girl who told that story about her time in Vancouver...I've seen that happen first hand. When I was in Vancouver riding the bus, a young Canadian man saw an elderly couple visiting from Southern California who were about to explore Stanley Park. Not only did he offer to show them where to get off the bus, but he insisted on guiding them around the park himself because he had no other plans for the afternoon. Canadians seem to be just that friendly.

I met them in front of my work at Sea World and even gave them 4 free tickets. My friends are mostly female but unfortunately they are all platonic relationships. I am absolutely crazy about one of them but it's hard to escalate without the possibility of pushing her away and being turned off. I hate the restrictive policies other countries have to something so simple as carrying a knife, and I mean a utility knife such as SAK, Wenger or even a multitool, not an obvious weapon such as a Ka-bar.
On the other side, I've been forced to get down of the bus along with all the passengers for random searches and patdowns in a couple of countries.

Heck, I've have wood chisels (in sheaths, which were also in a bag) seized under the "dangerous weapon" excuse, despite being covered in sawdust.
I by no means pass as american. Wanna know how many times I've been harassed by cops in the US? twice. both in commie-fornia. In my country? at least twice a week. Korea? customs and immigration want me to buy the back plane ticket under the argument "I would overstay" if not, even if I explain my company pay for it and they don't know how much time I may stay. Israel? hours of being held "for questioning" in an isolated room in the airport about my background, repeating and rephrasing the same shit once and again. Portugal police has been a pain in my neck for smoking duty free cigarettes "illegally bought"... in the D.F. store on the airport I departed from. Chile threw the british Silk cut cigarettes I bought in england out of my documented luggage...

In Portugal I guess you have different people depending on how far north or south you go... being from the centre of Portugal, I only know what I've heard, but we say that people from the north are rude (meaning, they use a lot of swear words), but if you go further north it gets more rural and people are nicer and simpler. If you go to the south, people are known to be nice and welcoming, but I think that if you go further south people aren't as nice, maybe because it has become a tourist spot and a lot of foreigners (mainly British) live there. In any case, Portuguese people are known for their hospitality and their warm personalities. And people say the same about Europe! They say people from warm countries (Spain, Italy, Greece, etc) are more welcoming than people from cold countries (Germany, North of France, Switzerland, etc). Maybe temperature has something to do with it?

I have just viewed your video and I would like to give my opinion here on this debate. I think that a dual-culture marriage can work fine if both parties are willing to compromise and are willing to accept each others differences. Not only that, but both can learn from each other more in terms of their cultures as well.
In general I am an open-minded person and I grew up with hearing multiple languages as my family is Irish and my grandparents used to speak in Gaelic most of the time. So for me, learning a new language isn't a problem and with an international marriage. If they decide to have children. The children in the family will be atleast bi-lingual which would benefit them in their careers as they could work in a job that involves international trading for example.
I would have no problem in marrying a Japanese woman if I met one and the conditions are right for the both of us (i.e: if we are fully compatible). Please do make more videos as I find them interesting and useful. I have subscribed as well.
    Cheers.

I would be interested in the second video.
Interesting video though. One thing that would be really interesting would be knowing what Japanese girls are like. I noticed there were concerns about the culture gap, which would be one of my concerns too. So it would be kind of interesting to know what that gap is. Might even be interesting to do a video asking what people think that cultural gap is and how they think it might be dealt with.

It was dark and autofocus didn't work well, and it was very difficult to fix the focus because I didn't have any extra hand. Plus, my camera didn't support mounting an extra light, which would fix the auto-focus problem, not to mention my very low budget.

Ha, since you pointed out my country (Czech republic), I´ll bring something to discuss. My country is quite small (like Hokkaido alone), but there are differences, depends on the region. Generally, the people from the east are more friendly and more party-like. Western people are more calm, reserved and harder to approach, I guess. The special ones are people of Prague- they have reputation of being superstitious, arrogant and money-oriented, so the rest of the country dislikes them :)

    • @ThatJapaneseManYuta

    • @MrStrawberryShit

+Petr Mašek I was in prague a few times. imo the only bad thing about it were people who give you flyers and want you to go to a stripclub and the black people at night who want to sell some cocaine and weed. I had coke myself, but I brought it into the country because I knew that they just try to rip off tourists. When I refused to buy some they got angry and started to talk shit. It's a nice country and the people who live there were so friendly, but the ones who work their are fake and really just want your money.

    • @petamasku
      @petamasku 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

+ASAP Oxy Well, you must understand that the Prague city centre is in no way genuine Czech location and it´s vastly different from the rest of the country. Just a tourist ghetto, I´d say. Even though I consider these black drug dealers a disgrace and an awful sight, It´s not a Prague speciality at all. After all, in the globalised world, the tourist locations are losing their geniune spirit and just like Prague, they are becoming an ugly shithole of Starbucks, selfie sticks, segways etc.
So if you want to see the nice of Czech Rep., step outside of Prague city centre. You´ll not regret it.

They all made it very clear they liked ("loved") me a lot but would never marry me because of cultural differences and concerns about what their family would think. Also I am a professional chef and earn a middle class wage. This is not considered a "good" job by most asian girls. That's my expereince on the subject :)

Bājiru don’t count me among you, I have a girlfriend. But if someone is trying to monetize content, they are trying to be a professional and they deserve to be criticized on a professional level. It should be expected that when someone wants to engage in professional videography and filmmaking, they should learn the basics of how to operate a camera. I would criticize a professional writer for not knowing spelling or grammar, a professional animator for not knowing how to draw or animate, this is no different. Go fuck yourself.

    • @ethos304

Yes, i agree, if he was doing his content solely for money I would criticize him every chance I got, but the thing is; he does it not only for money, but to teach foreigner's about his country and the people that live in it, he even elaborated free classes to those who've taken an interest in the language. So, your still an asshole and you managed to prove my point with that poor excuse of an argument of yours, so, go fuck yourself.

Bājiru a few observations: first, my criticism was mild and justified, your response was out of line. Learning how to shoot in focus is simple and worthwhile for someone who wants to monetize his content. Second, you not having a girlfriend and probably not busting a nut in a long time is affecting your demeanor. Get a girlfriend or squeeze one out and learn to be civil. Also, I somehow suspect that you are the content creator or were asked to reply by him.

An old coworker once told me there are 2 ways to win over a girl 1) you can be handsome and sweep her off at first sight which is the rigged way, 2) win her affection through friendship which is the natural way. However both run their own risks for problems, for the former the relationship is likely to lead to a breakup since it's foundation is superficial, the latter could land you in the "friendzone" and keep you there IF you don't know how to turn it around.
