    The old world charm, beats all the modern cafes. Give me the New York Cafe, any where any time.

    The Mc Donalds is located in one of the former royal waiting rooms, where the Queen and the King was waiting for the train to leave, thats why it looks so good :) Hope you had a good time, regards from Budapest

      I’ve not been along the time to engage with the king and queen (last one was in 1918, Habsburg, WWI, Trianon and so on …) but I’ve been to this building a lot before McDonalds came in, it was a major post office …

      @@DarrenChetana Hey, Hungarian here. It looks like that because it was built in 1894 and quickly became one of the central places of literature and arts in Budapest. Now it's more of a tourist attraction, I only got to visit it once because a foreigner took me there for a date lol.

    Cafes look so good in there! I always think that travels are made easier when you have the best travel gears and essentials too. The bento bag from Nomad Lane is my best carry-on bag for dream vacation destination like this. Thought I'd share it to you guys too!

    I visited Budapest in Febraury 2020 ( just before corona hit in earnest) and had coffee and cake in Cafe New York. It was busy but nothing like in your video. I regret not going to Gerbeaud for their famous chocolate/walnut/apricot squares. And I prefer quieter cafes anyway. Even small, regular cafes in Budapest were fantastic

    • @gingin51
      @gingin51 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What do you think, they rebuilt it in 1 year?! No! The renovation of the building was awarded the Europa Nostra medal in 2007. Don't worry, everything is exactly as shown in the video. We go there often, we love it!

      @@gingin51 I meant it was not as busy as it is in the video, not that the cafe itself looked different. It's the most beautiful cafe I've ever been to i my life. Why do you sound upset?

    All these places once were fabulous, with excellent food at decent prices. Nowadays they’re just tourist traps, mediocre food for exuberant prices. You should still visit because the buildings are still marvelous both from the outside as well as the inside. But they’re so many places where you can get better food for a fraction of the price …
