    I went to college (USA) and received my bachelors degree in biology, i love it I love biology as a subject and always want to learn more. But recently I have found from working with chemists, that biology majors are looked down upon and biology is considered an easy "soft science" . Now normally this wouldn't bother me but I will admit, it has been bothering me. I need to go back to school to get my masters degree and I have been considering biochemistry, I do find it very interesting, but also I want to prove that I can do it and stick it to the naysayers. Maybe not the best reason, but I want to make sure I learn as much as I can before I actually go back to School, if I don't do biochemistry I will probably go into microbiology. But anyways thanks for your video it will help me Prepare and decide. Also I want to know if anyone else has had the problem of different scientific schools of thought talking down to each other, especially biology being looked down upon. Thanks.

      I’ve never even done a dissection let alone done anything with lab animals! Perhaps it’s to do with being in the UK and UK law I don’t know...the closest we got with using rat brain so in that sense yes I used lab animals but there was always an option to not if you really couldn’t they would find a way around it :) I’m pretty sure there are jobs where at least you wouldn’t have to physically test on animals for sure x

I always had an interest in Learning and studying about Cancer, learning all about the different type of chemo medicines. How they are developed and how they affect the Human Body and why. I know that students that don't go to medical school usually choose a Biochem Major as an alternative 😉.

      Career prospects are good! Lots of options in the field and transferable skills- and no you don’t :)
      obviously the more intense science you want to do as a job the better it is to have a higher level of qualification but many people don’t do masters x

      @NooStenningVideos  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Again it totally depended, normally seminar size so 15 ish and then a couple of people only a couple of times very brief things in front of the lecture so 80 at a guess, and then a few in front of 4 ish

      There’s honestly barely any, definitely not enough to be a reason not to take the course!
