The Truth Behind Chris Sale's Surprising Return...

  • When Chris Sale broke onto the scene with the White Sox, he took the league by storm finishing among the games best pitchers in the AL Cy-Young award throughout his stay in the Southside. Then in Boston he continued his dominance over the league winning his first ever World Series trophy in 2018 after posting a 2.11 ERA during the regular season. But towards the end of his time in Boston, Sale could not stay off the injured list and at the end of 2023 he was dealt to the Braves. At this time, it felt like Sale's once promising Hall of Fame career was reaching its end. However, in Atlanta he has found a second wind and currently finds himself among the games top pitchers in most major categories.

    Braves fan here. In a season that’s gotten arguably more depressing as it’s gone on, Chris has shockingly been a bright spot. I had my doubts considering his last 4 years, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised and he’s been amazing for us

      He has been a huge bright spot for you guys amidst all of the injuries. They won it without Acuña in 2021 though!

      How is it depression? We legit have the same record that we did the exact same thing last season.

    • @kristopherwilson506
      @kristopherwilson506 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      How is it depressing? Because we lost Strider for the year--who should _not_ be our ace, as he has a homer problem--and then Acuna not too long ago? Asking us to replicate what we did last year is impossible. Last season, all the hitters pretty much had the best years of their careers. Doing that again was unlikely. We'll be fine. Our pitching is better than it was last year, and our offense will come around.

    • @JosephDalton-xc1iw
      @JosephDalton-xc1iw 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Strider is an absolute ace, he racks up strikeouts faster than anyone IN THE HISTORY OF BASEBALL, plus the metrics showed that he was unlucky last year.
      And losing Acuña is an enormous blow to the team, even with his slow start to the season.
      But I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the Braves win 95+ games anyway.
      Your depth off the bench is ridiculous.

    Chris Sale has been one of the very few bright spots in an otherwise frustrating season thus far for my Atlanta Braves, and this is a fantastic piece. When AA acquired him, I wasn't worried about the injuries, because most of them were freak things. He's been tremendous, and I think his dawg mentality will, ultimately, help the Braves rediscover themselves for a strong postseason run. Again, awesome job!
