Hi lucy do you know your lessons is helpping me a lot in my exams Your friend and your student😂 From morocco😁😘😍 💝❤💗💘💖 Thanks for everything you do 😇 Love you 😙
Hi Lucy, I like your videos very much! Thanks for your great job! The quiz answers: 1. missed 2. lost 3. miss 4. missed 5. lost 6. missing 7. lost 8. missing 9. missing 10. lost
Oh I hope it’s correct :) Thank you for the video, Lucy ❤️ 1. Missed 2. Lost 3. Miss 4. Missed 5. Lost 6. Missing 7. Lost 8. Missing 9. Missing 10. Lost
In german we have several words for to miss and to lose. -"verpassen" (not beeing on time and miss it eg. bus) -"vermissen" (to miss s'thg that isn't present eg.a person ho lives abroad) -"verfehlen" (when I don't hit a certain point eg.the goal in a football game or the target) -"vergessen" (when I am not keeping my wallet with me, it's still at home) -"verlieren" (lose weight, lose the game)
Hi Lucy, I am Indonesian. And I'm very glad to learn English (British) on your channel. Thank you so much for all videos. The Videos helped me a lot. I always try my english every day. Once again thank you
Thank you Lucy, amazing as usual! ❤ I just wanted to give you a piece of advice: I noticed that as I have improved a lot in English, your videos (as you speak slowly and clearly) are becoming too easy for me that I tend to look for other youtubers, and that's a pity because I absolutely love your accent and way of teaching. So I think maybe you could make some videos for advanced learners, in this case you will have more people which can't live without your videos ahahahaha Love you, have a good day, ciao dall'Italia❤
You are hands on the number one Lucy. I suddenly realized that I migt have "missed" some previous episodes and while digging the past I came to "lose" my consciousness between those excellent works. Several minutes later when I woke up I had already "missed" the bus. That last one made me "lose" my temper... Instead of staying and waiting for the next bus, I decided to walk home. That would give me the chance to complete the "missing" episodes as well. I was walking along the river in where I had dropped and unfortunately "lost" my keys a couples of days ago. That poor memories would've made me to lose my hope against the life If I hadn't felt that fresh air on my face. It was such a cool but soft wind which you could just experience in any humid spring evenings... At that time I understood that what had been "missing" in my life for a long time was actually a deep breath.
Hi Lucy! This lesson has been very useful! It would be amazing if you could do more videos with differences between words that can easily confuse students. Thanks a lot! Have a wonderful day!
I speak Indonesian a.k.a Bahasa because my first language (mother tongue) in Indonesia. Nice job, Lucy. Thank you for explaining and sharing this useful material with us in your own channel. Great job, Lucy.
Lucy you are superlative! You are the best teacher I met in internet because you speak not too fast, you always make interesting and useful examples and above all you have a beautiful way at teaching difficult concepts thanks to your creativity and talent! Huge hugs from Italy 🇮🇹
Hi, Lucy! I'm Rezza. I'm from Indonesia. I speak both Indonesian (as my mother tongue) and English (as a foreign language). I'm an English teacher in my beloved country, Indonesia. We are English teachers. We're chuffed to bits by our noble profession.
Thank you Lucy for helping me to improve my english😀very good lesson.1.-Missed 2.-Lost.3.-Miss4.-Missed 5.-Lost 6.-Missing 7.-Lost 8.-Missing 9.-Missing 10.-Lost
It has been fantastic. By the way: "misses" can also be the answer for the fourth question, "He always misses the bus to work", for example. Thank you very much. Really useful.
Yeah, the ways in which to miss and to lose can be used in the sentences like the ways in which in Vietnamese. And to be missing is very new for me, I have never leant about it before. Thank so much for a useful lesson
Yeah, i think your channel is one of the best for learning English. Especially for learning British English. That's the way to go my friend. Keep teaching English!!! P.S. You're gorgeous;)

Good evening. It was an excellent explanation about the difference between to miss and to lose. Thank you for explaining how to use to be missing to us as well.
I lost my cellular data lest I miss you. I've one request for you to make a lesson on vowel sound & consonant sound. Have a great day & always stay blessed.
Hi Lucy! Very interesting video! In my language (Greek) the words "miss" and "lose" are basically the same. But in some of the cases that you use "miss" or "lose" we use different words. For example, if I want to say in Greek "I missed an event" we normally say "I did not attend/ I did not go/ I was late/ I didn' make it on time..." But, depending on the situation, "miss" can be used too. Quiz: 1.missed, 2.lost, 3.miss, 4.missed, 5.lost, 6.missing, 7.lost, 8.missing, 9.missing, 10.lost
As a native English speaker (American), I watch these mainly for the variations between American and British English. I will also say that you’ve made me go look up the Oxford phonetic alphabet a few times too.
Hi Lucy. Great lesson as always. Your gorgeous smile make my day better) It would be great if you make a lesson about our biggest enemy prepositions(like this "from" in 9 task, i really want to use "on" here).
Thanks, Lucy, for this interesting lesson! Here you go my answers: 1. Missed 2. Lost 3. Miss 4. Missed 5. Lost 6. Missing 7. Lost 8. Missing 9. Missing 10. Lost
"dont loose sleep over it" and "lose the plot" are new phares for me. Everyrhing else I already knew. In my language (slovak) we have even more words for these expresions. For example we have special verb for comming late for transportation and for missing the game. I am not sure how to translate but it is similar like "late" would be a verb.
Thank you Lucy and congratulations! Your explanations are always clear and complete 🙂. Now my answers 🤔: 1. Missed 2. Lost 3. Miss 4. Missed 5. Lost 6. Missing 7. Lost 8. Missing 9. Missing 10. Lost 😘 right cheek 😘 left cheek
Hi Lucy.Firstly I try to answer these questions! 1.Missed 2.Lost 3.Miss 4.Miss 5.Lost 6.Missing 7.Lost 8.Missing 9.Missing 10.Lost I hope I do it correctly! :) Lucy, you keep freely with these quizzes! Good Idea! (y) Thanks for the video! :) Sorry Lucy, one question: why cannot I send you a message via Messenger in English with Lucy page? I won't send a message to your private FB because you wrote it you won't answer to messages! I don't want to disturb you, only to ask you something. Please, try to understand me! :) Thanks in advance. :) Are you planning any collaboration soon?
Number 4 is 'missed' (past tense) or 'misses' (present tense) because the subject is "he", otherwise you did everything perfectly. In the present tense you can say "I miss the bus" or "You miss the bus," but for he/she/it, you must say "he misses the bus"
Thanks a lot for such an informative and useful lesson. I lost track of time while watching this video. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks indeed especially for the list of colocations.
10 of 10! I can't believe that! Thank you for another great lesson and please make as many quizes as possible. They are very important for our development!
1. Missed 2. Lost 3. Miss 4. Missed 5. Lost. 6. Missing 7. Lost 8. Missing 9. Absent 10. Lost With the verbiage for #9 Absent feels more natural to go with: “Why were you absent from the meeting?” Absent means exactly the same thing as “Missing” to not be present when presence is required. Or you could say: “Why were you missing at the meeting this morning?” I missed the streetcar because I couldn’t get across the street before it left- but fortunately another car was right behind so I didn’t lose time and knew I could still make my connection.
It has been a very interesting video. Actually I watched it at 3:53 am I don't know why am I still awake But all I know is before to go to sleep I wanted to watch one of your videos

Good work of yours I've ever seen!
Thanks for the video, Lucy. I am an English teacher myself, not a native speaker though. I am from Brazil and in spite of having a major in PSL, Portuguese as a Second Language, which means paper, documents, University and institution, I have built my career not as a Portuguese teacher for foreigners, although I have taught some. I did build my career though as an English teacher. Not every ESL channel on youtube grabs my attention. Through my experience I have learned that many students have what applied linguist, Stephen Krashen, would call an affective filter towards English and not every student comes to class willingly. Some are there because they are forced to, whether by their parents, job, society in general. Which means that a lot of them literally hate English. So it does make our work a lot easier if we are generous, kind, patient and try to be in our students shoes for a while. I used to despise any perspective that sets the teacher in a very motherly position, and throughout the years I came to understand that it isn't a matter of choice for the teacher. We are humans and we all have affective and emotional needs, affective and emotional difficulties and demands that will play tricks on us in our teaching-learning process. Thus by aknowledging the students needs and their individuality no matter how big the group we are working with may be, it triggers the process we like to call education with fluency, progress and effectiveness. That's how I went from being just a teacher into becomeing an educator. So it is all very hard upon our students already, if besides such hardships a teacher approaches them with a very colognizing attitude, everything becomes even harder. And yours attitude is very simple, honest, considerate of others(and that's a key word for education: otherness. A sense of otherness) and humble. I like to do this kind of research before passing on videos to my students, and for certain I'll pass your videos on to them. Thanks.

10 of 10! I can't believe that! Thank you for another great lesson and please make as many quizes as possible. They are very important for our development!
1. Missed 2. Lost 3. Miss 4. Missed 5. Lost. 6. Missing 7. Lost 8. Missing 9. Absent 10. Lost
With the verbiage for #9 Absent feels more natural to go with: “Why were you absent from the meeting?” Absent means exactly the same thing as “Missing” to not be present when presence is required.
Or you could say: “Why were you missing at the meeting this morning?”
I missed the streetcar because I couldn’t get across the street before it left- but fortunately another car was right behind so I didn’t lose time and knew I could still make my connection.
Thank you so much ever.
Great lesson. Thanks.
