For your macro layout, go to your config,, ui and click , macro buttons click 2 scheme 4,, and see if that gets you want you want on the number of macros!
Nice video . Looking forward e to the series. I recently just set up a DigiPi on a pi zero for my ft817 using a digirig and i havent quite got it sorted yet. I'm going to try this hardware tip from this video.
dougstrong kj5clx I found that voice access in win11 can be used to fill the fldigi transmission panel with voice-generated text (before or while transmitting) which is treated exactly as though it were text you just typed in. Fldigi transmit sweeps through the text the same. There may be some microphone issues between receive and transmit modes.
I am using Linux mint 22, I don’t have a serial directory under /dev where else might I look for by-I’d? BTW I beat my head against the wall all day trying to get fldigi working in Linux. I got receive working but the tax would not. Not much information on fldigi in Linux until I found your channel.
Your videos have great detail, then "BAM", an assumption throws me off track. (e.g. Port Audio > Capture and Playback.... what has to be configured to get the appropriate choices in the dropdown list?)
FLDIGI auto populates the list. Double check your connections. If it still doesn't show up, try the FLDIGI forum groups.io/g/linuxham/topics where the dev for FLDIGI hangs out.
@@KM4ACK I think there was flakiness going on between Linux PopOS and my old ICOM 7100 rig. It took constant plug/unplug/power down 7100, restart Linux combinations constantly as I switched between WSJTX, JS8Call, and FLDigi. No idea why. But when I hook up my new Yaesu 991A this morning, it connected like butter, and switches between apps seemlessly. Thanks for your videos. Always appreciate your Linux point of view as I continue to internalize the way Linux handles hardware.
You must be using a Linux computer?...when you magically popped up "the terminal" you lost me. I will eventually get this and thank you for the videos, but my head hurts now and I am going to stop. All the best to you and your most excellent subscribers..
Awesome videos, just got the FTM-500 to finally light up when I hit buttons in FLDIGI thanks to this video
Glad it helped!

Oh, my. All the settings I was looking for. We are going to try fldigi with MT63 2KL, in Utah again.
Thanks for taking the time to release this video. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.. 73s W5ZM
Just in time for Winter Field Day!!
WFD would be a great opportunity to show this off :-)

Hopefully it gets you up and running. With the 817, be sure you are in the right mode (PKT, DIG) depending on your use.
Getting Extra was easier than getting Fldigi to work. Tried for days to get it to work, no go. I will find an easier way to do packet i guess.
I totally agree. What a mess. I'm trying to install and run it on Linux. I must be crazy.

I would like to know how you added thw DEFCON Status to conky
Just a text statement that I put at the top.
@KM4ACK so does it pull current level
@@Aerial51Photography Negative. Updated manually. I should research getting it to pull automatically though. I just put it there for eyecandy
I have mine it set to pull for Amrron AmCon level if you need that script
Is there anything to set to co-exist with voice traffic on a repeater?
no. it's up to the operators not to interfere with each other. We monitor for voice traffic before and while playing with digital.
@@KM4ACK cool

Yes. I run Linux exclusively in the shack. Mac for the day job.
