Robert KD4YDC here. Jason one of the things that I will be requesting on one of our local repeaters that I think we will be allowing this on is to audibly ID, maybe mention that a FLDigi message is about to start and then the user would send it. If it is broken up like you mentioned and they have 10 sec break in between then have them ID again with say "KD4YDC continuing FLDigi message". Should be short enough that the FLDigi program could kick back in. And then maybe at the end audibly ID and "Clear". There are so many times that people's radio get kicked over on the repeater using APRS that we try to catch them say in between beacons to say "Check your radio please..." or something like that. I know this sounds like a "Karen" but being a control op for our local repeaters and sitting next to the radio most of the day, it is just one of the things we have to do locally. Again taking great interest in this series and looking forward to trying this out with a new "local" repeater coming on line later this year. 73, Robert KD4YDC
This is a great idea. After your video about the persistent net another Ham and I have done some testing on the local standalone repeater. Hoping to use this to get other interested in digital modes
Thanks for the info. NOTE AND 2 QUESTIONS: I pasted in a 5 pages of Word for the heck of it to see about compression. 2000 words. 9:58 without compression. 4:07 with. The question is, can the repeater time-out feature in FLamp be used with a long-form message rather than a file? Sometimes, we have a long report on a 213 and have been breaking it into multiple messages manually. We've had a repeater time out and essential nuke clean msg receipt. Can Amp work with forms? Finally, may "old" install knowledge has always seen me install FLMSG and FLWRAP and having them in the Autostart menu. I was recently told FLWrap NOW installs as a part of FLDIGI and no longer needs to be installed... True? I'd always thought it was a key error checker.
So does FLDigi just know from a header that it should transfer this to the other associated program? Does FLMSG save a copy? A veiw from the RX side might be a help as well. I need to ask around and see if anyone wants to try this locally
Yes. FLDIGI knows which program should be used. FLMSG will open automatically if configured correctly. FLAMP must be open before a file transfer is initiated. There's another video in this series better showing receive in FLMSG.

I think it's good to give others notice. We "voice" announce at the beginning of our meetups and again at the end.

Really enjoy this series of videos! 73
Glad you enjoy it!

Do you use a RPI for this? Great idea for using FLDIGI for MSG through a repeater. Will have to ask the club if they want to utilize this.
Not currently using the pi for this but it would work well. I’d recommend at least the Pi 4 4gb model.
You using a laptop than on Linux?
