@@InsideChinaAuto @InsideChinaAuto I think Porsche’s USP of driving dynamics and track performance is kind of irrelevant in the Chinese market. Porsche is great at traditional mechanical engineering. But Chinese consumers prefer more technology, advanced software, more features, high quality interiors, low NVH, and comfort biased driving dynamic. Porsche knows it can’t compete in any of those fronts. So, they’re trying to wing it with their brand status. The new Macan is a good example of how out of touch with reality they’re in the Chinese market. The base model costs 720k RMB, has a mediocre interior. Its software + battery technology is at least a whole generation behind its Chinese competitors. All its fancy chassis tuning, and driver feedback won’t matter when its overtaken by a Didi driver on a Cherry. It's impossible for any euro brands to compete in the 500-700k RMB price bracket in China. I think they will be forced to slash prices, like BMW and Mercedes. Or stick to the ultra-luxury segment (1.5 million +), where there’s probably still a market for that kind of stuff.
Porsche has not lost its market in China, but due to the economic downturn, Porsche's consumer group has become smaller. People still like Porsche as long as their wealth allows. Although Porsche is not as good as these mobile phone companies in digital products, Porsche is a symbol of wealth.
@@Benst2178 Well that kind of depends on the speed that the car hit the wall, doesn't it? It's all well and good saying a seat snapped but how many other seats have you seen in collisions at 70 or 80mph? It might well be part of the design for it to do that given it'll soften the impact on your spine rather than giving you an abrupt halt. That's why you have airbags and why your seatbelt lets out a bit in a collision and why you have crumple zones. Unless you're an expert in safe seat design from EuroNCAP, which I know I'm not, then neither of us really know what the parameters or requirements are.
I just tried the base model yesterday. I loved it -- and am thinking about buying one. I have tried several Chinese EVs and this drove better than any of them. The tech seemed great, the interior comfortable.
It drives really nicely, much more sporty than most Chinese EVs, but it does bite so be prepared for the power of the dual motor if you go for it. I really like the practicality of the interior, lots of thoughtful touches, many you won't see unless somebody shows them to you.
What i like about Xiaomi is they give you the option to attach buttons to the screen if you're someone who like to have physical buttons for basic functionality like regulating car's/seats temperature.
Agreed. I didn't have that tool with me to show but I put a picture of it on. It's such a simple and genius idea. You can actually stick a bunch of other stuff on the screen too like light bars and dials.
I refer this Inside China Auto episode as a GIFT. From 3 years till today i own an Xiaomi 12x smart phone, it is unbelievable robust, practical and beautiful mobile.
Most of my household technology are from Xiaomi. I love their robo mop I'm tempted to buy the Su7 to complete my Xiaomi ecosystem. Much more comprehensive than the Apple ecosystem :)
I cannot understand why anyone would want an SUV or Truck when they could get something like this for the same price. The Chinese and Tesla are setting the trend for new smartcars 👈🏾
They really are. Some people want SUVs for the extra height, feeling like they can see more, but then if everyone does that you need to get bigger again and it's a negative cycle.
One interesting aspect of this vehicle that gets overlooked is its top speed of 265kmh. Most Chinese cars top out at 200-220kmh. But Xiaomi's first car has a very high top speed for an EV.
The cheaper chinese EVs tops out at even lower than 200km/h which is surprising because there are 90-110hp ICE cars that can reach 200km/h (eventually)
Indeed. I think that's a clear sign they intend to take this abroad, especially to Germany. Chinese cars are limited generally because without a race track you're getting nowhere near that top speed, but these guys fancy a few people will put them on a circuit.
@@InsideChinaAuto didn't EU or some members states want to impose electronic speed limit matched with the speed limit on their highway network something in the round of 150-160km/h, Volvo themselves also anounced that they're gonna limit their cars speed limit to 112mph/180kmh (i never driven any volvo so i'm not going to comment if they implemented it or not).
Thanks for this amazing walkthrough. Great camera work and editing and lots of usefull information. Did you charge it? How was the curve? (I have not been able to find anyone charging it on youtube)
Glad you liked it. I did charge it a couple of times but only on a 160kW charger. It pulled pretty strongly at the start but can't remember the details. Bear in mind this one is 400-volt where the Max is 800-volt so that should do better.
@@InsideChinaAuto Thanks. I did not know it was 800 Volts. I asumed also the LFP pack was 800 volts. As somebody livin in europe trying to get an overview over the Chinese models, it is difficult to get hold of information. Even brands like Audi that have an awsome site with detailed information (Audi Media Center) hides all information about their chinese models like Audi Q5 e-tron and Q6L version. It is like there is a rule not to make a good website for your car brand. Xiamoi does in fact have a good website with information about SU7. @@evkx from experience about these cells and checking the entire cooling system i am confident it will perform very similar to other high quality EV when it comes to rapid charging. i already installed a 21kw chwrging pile in my garage when mine arrives one day. right now the SU7 max supports only 11kw max but it might be possible they change that one day with an update hopefully? on a xiaomi fast charger outside i saw 860V and 600 amps which sounds promising. i am pretty sure that it will hold 250-300kw at least from 10 to around 60 or maybe even 70% before ramping down. which is enough for travel i think. if i can get around 300-400km in 10-15 min i am happy. they claim 210km in 5 min and you can be sure i am gonna test that and post results. until then we need wait until more people get it and make videos on a charger which supports 800v
Haha. That's the real test right there. I want to help the industry set standards for making it easier to get baby seats in, even if they normally won't move quite as often as mine does.
Could be a while yet. They've got a lot of local demand to get through (they've sold 100,000 in about 7 months) so haven't announced international plans yet, and definitely not right-hand drive. You could feasibly import a left-hand drive model but not sure what taxes you'd get on that. I think our current tariff is 10%.
Hi Mark. I get so jealous when I see you driving these beautiful cars , best for your drive in the car I really really want to own, it will match my show me Mi10 mobile phone 📱 , it's amazing how a phone company can make such a car, are they not being helped by Geely or Saic or BYD or someone , how do you think they might be able to ramp up production is there factory big enough,,Btw I noticed you in the background on a lot of shots of the recent uploads of the guys on TH-cam that we're at the Zeekr event just recently Tom,Riz and Sam Evans.., that would have been cool to go there. Yes well what a lovely car this is beautiful shape, I just hope they can go into global worldwide production with it. Loved all the roads where you was there was no one on it you could have gone bananas with it 😅. Anyway keep up the good work. We have an electric car show coming up in Melbourne in August I'll keep my fingers crossed I'll have something decent. Regards John
I have to admit, some days I drive these cars in this beautiful place and I think I'm incredibly fortunate to do what I do. Xiaomi are doing this all on their own believe it or not. They had to borrow BAIC's car building licence but they've just got their own now so they don't need to put 北汽 on the back of their car now. Meanwhile their factory, I believe, can do 120,000 units a year currently but is being expanded. It'll be to be because they've got a Purosangue, I mean SUV, coming next. 😉 I was indeed at Zeekr with all those guys. Will have a couple of videos from the trip coming soon. I'm wall-to-wall with work at the moment, too many videos and written reviews on the go, plus a 7-month old baby, so life is fun. Good to hear from you again and enjoy the EV show!
Thanks Mark for your great reply, no one else gives such a detailed response as you, much appreciated. Funny one of the reviewers Tom, was shocked how many EVs were actually in Shanghai, he actually photographed the xiaomi Su-7 funny enough. Regards John
Not one for SUVs myself but the mock ups I've seen do look pretty desirable. Their whole thing was making similar products to brands but for less so they seem to be sticking with that philosophy.
You got the fancy colour version as well; nice! Excellent car, this. One thing though: _kilometres_ rhymes with "nanometres", not with "thermometers" (because it's a unit of measurement, not a measuring device). Also, the "RMB" goes before the number in English (just like how one writes $5 instead of 5$).
Think that depends where you come from on how you pronounce things but I respect your difference. I personally would have loved the orange but the blue is a real headturner.
@@InsideChinaAuto That it is! But nah, that's a common misconception. It was a mistake started by the Americans because they don't use the metric system and spell the word as "kilometers", so unsuspecting people thought it was a measuring device and started pronouncing it as such (and it unfortunately crossed the pond), but this is pointed out as a mistake by all the major publications (UK Metric Association, for example).
China is definitely improving in every aspect. Out of the blue, they've ramp up these past few years. I'm not Chinese and I don't agree with everything China does, but admittingly what they've achieved is admirable. From software to hardware and coming up with multiple innovations. They're also trying to take a market share and coming up with their own products. Such as DJI, Huawei no Xiaomi, etc. The west will have to step it up if they still want to be the top dog.
@jasonmugridge There are some that say that Apple is all marketing and very little innovation, which I think is 90% true. Their chips are damn quick but they have always been far behind Android with new features. They simply tell everyone their new phone is the best phone ever every time.
@@InsideChinaAuto Some said Apple being base in US do not have the mature supply chains like Chinese company did in China, which makes it more difficult to do it. And maybe they also find AI being more important area to focus on.
No word on European prices yet or even sales. It's sold out for the year here so not before next year, more likely 2026 I'd say, sadly. Gives them chance to iron out any issues though because it'll need to be perfect in Europe.
Nothing planned yet but Xiaomi has stated they want to be one of the world's top 5 automakers and so they'd pretty much need to be in Europe to achieve that, so I suspect that's where they're going.
What an interesting vehicle. Porsche from the front, Lincoln MKZ from the back, and a Hyundai Ioniq 6 from the side….. It really is something out of GTA!!!
I can't wait for this to be exported so we can see how much it costs outside China? I'll guess 50-70k outside China, and for that track pack rumored to be a tri motor with aero version that's been caught testing at the green hell to come out! More ev competition is good imo. 👍🏻😎
Really quite like the operating system, though the toolbar could do with a few more quick access buttons and they're not customisable so it loses a few points.
It's not bad to be honest, but not quite as good as the 007 when it gets really choppy. Sure it's much better in Max form with the CDC but I drove that in Beijing and the roads there were perfect so hard to say.
@Markus-iq4sm Max for me because the power is worth having, and I'd take the bright orange colour because it's a bit rarer and I like bold colours. This blue would come in second place.

Scandal! However, have you tried the Xiaomi su7 MAX? When do you throw out your vision? You said Monday, that was yesterday! Thanks in advance ❤️❤️❤️❤️
It's sad that many in the west feel the need to throw shade with no basis rather than up their game to compete. We got lazy, simple as that. For the Max, I planned to make a video about the Xiaomi Pilot Max ADAS system in Beijing but it turned out it's only coming online in August, so I simply took it for a drive in the mountains and it was bloody marvellous. So sure-footed, precise, barely needed to touch the brake with the one-pedal driving. When I come back for the ADAS video I'll maybe do a video about the Max on its own, a mountain run video or something. Let's see.
@@InsideChinaAuto Thanks! Thanks! You said that it is "Very close competition" between Xiaomi su7 MAX and Zeekr 007. In my eyes Su7 wins that match easily! The design is better in every way. What do you think? What is your favorite? Build quality? Feeling of quality? It would be great to see your test drive etc asap! Western media has written a lot of crap about slave labor and child labor in their factories and Xiaomi puts out videos on the production and you don't see a single human there, only high-tech robots. Since then, a lot has been written about the Xiaomi su7 MAX behaving dangerously in traffic and that Xiaomi is not capable of building cars. BUT Xiaomi is releasing new Su7 ULTRA with 1548hp which will break track records in October and hope that fact makes everyone understand that our media made mistakes! What do you think about this? And of course Xiaomi su7 MAX vs Zeekr 007? Thanks in advance ❤️
@SMETNJE I think personally the design of the SU7 is better than the 007. I like both but the SU7 really is stunning, it draws you in when you see it. I didn't get to try the 007 Kung-fu edition, I'd have liked to try that one to compare to the Max but maybe one day if I'm lucky. The SU7 looks nicer inside and is more practical, but the 007 feels better made and has a better driving position and more kit, but obviously not the same connectivity as the SU7. I think overall I'd probably take the SU7 just about, though efficiency and charging seems better in the 007. In the end, desirability and performance win on my list of wants so the SU7 takes it. Oh and as for the Ultra, well it's just batshit mental, and I love them for that. It's super ambitious and honestly will barely be an SU7 by the time it's finished, but they want to prove they can do it so all power to them. I've asked if they might invite us along to witness it. Let's see.
Highly unlikely I'm afraid, though you're welcome to get an importer to help out and pay a 100% tariff on it. Your leaders don't seem keen on you having good electric cars.
it looks like a sports car, with four doors nothing like it i love it you got a real 911 with four doors. i bet Porche not happy, but who care got the best four door car looks wise in the world. New look much love to Xiaomi in boring west with Honda and ford and all car makes sad buying
I was pretty dissapointed with build quality and materials on the SU7. There's exposed metal and the interior feels very plasticy, especially the steering wheel. The showroom car I looked at had obviously had a lot of people getting in and out but the centre console, seats and doors were really worn ad dirty in several places so I'd guess materials aren't of the best quality. I'd definitely take an nio et5/et5t or zeekr 001 over the max version, maybe the base versions are a better prospect.
It definitely feels cheaper than a Zeekr, that's true. I think they had planned at a higher price and when their finance guys told them it wouldn't sell for that price, they pulled a few niceties out. That's my hypothesis. As for the ET5, the one I tested was very poorly made with flexible headliner, a centre armrest that came off if you wiggled it a little, and some of the plastics just felt a bit poor.
I'd agree with you on that, it's certainly better for the environment than synthetic stuff, just not as good for the cows, but I'm well aware of the statistics that only 3% of the value of the cow is in the leather and that nobody farms cows simply for their skin, meaning that the value of the cow is in the meat and they would have been killed for that first before the leather, which is therefore a by-product of another process. Plus the fact that 50% of all leather produced every year is literally burned as waste because there aren't enough uses for it.
I like the minimalist interior (and white interior) but not as extreme as the Tesla. So good for people who like it minimalist but still want the option of adding buttons! Apparently it has self parking capability, is that true? How is the auto steer and auto pilot, compared to Tesla, Xpeng, Huawei, etc? And the maps and route selection, as good as Tesla’s? Thanks for the review. Seems like you prefer the Zeekr 007?
I like the interior, it's very thoughtful, just misses a few things others get like twin wireless chargers and massage seats, though I can do without the massage seats. I don't see the point in them. But the stuff you can do with the screen and tablets is brilliant. It does have self-parking. Had no issues at all parking into my home space by itself. Couldn't try the autonomous stuff because I had to rent the car and the owner hadn't activated it, but I'm hoping to try it next week and will make a video if I can. I think honestly it's about equal with the 007. 007 has a brilliant ride and better specs in general but I prefer the steering and interior on the SU7. Looks are subjective but it's hard to deny the SU7 in that blue gives you a buzz every time you walk towards it.

I absolutely hate it when journos in the west (or at least, in Australia) call this "China's apple car" when apple doesnt even have a car. As for this car, I can see some skimping to keep the price down. The lack of lining in the boot ceiling, lack of bonnet sound damping (although I dont know if it needs it in a BEV) and plasticky elements in the interior. Otherwise, love it! If i was to get one though, I would wait for either a facelift or second gen.
Yeah it's definitely not China's Apple car but they know what gets clicks. Definitely some short cuts like the ones you mentioned. I suspect they came after it was announced and Lei Jun said it wasn't going to be cheap and his team likely told him 'no, it can't be that price it'll fail', so they trimmed a few bits and took more of a hit. It's definitely not quite as quiet inside as others.
@@InsideChinaAuto Yeah to me anyway, it's the small details that makes a good car great. I think the car has potential and for a first car of the company, I think it's a blardy great attempt. Sad that it wont come to Europe. Really hope that they eventually come with some other cars or that they either sell the add-on button bar for other cars
Would you be OK with a hefty tariff on top? I can help you with an exporter at this end if you have an importer at yours. I don't know anyone who has imported one yet, though honestly your biggest challenge right now is getting hold of one. This year's batch is sold out already.
Best to check Xiaomi's site for the latest prices in case they've changed, but good luck getting one anytime soon, these things are sold out until past the end of the year. If you're really interested, email me and I can get somebody i know to help out.
I am very hyped to see this in Europe, but why? Why can't they so something easy and without having to navigate the touch screen to operate windows? Very big mistake not allowing regen braking to take the car to full stop.
Actually the windows can be controlled by switches on the door, and the regen can be selected to either stop or crawl, but the Chinese government are stopping the 'come to a stop' function on future cars for some reason.
It's interesting to watch how these cars are shifting the baseline. Reviewer complaining about no tilt adjustment and under-thigh extendable support on a 27k euro car. This feature is usually found in Mercedes C-line, Audi S-line, BMWs and other high-end cars.
Haha, you know you're right. We get a lot in Chinese cars so sometimes you expect more. The reason I want it more in this one is that it never quite feels like the ideal driving position somehow and the base cushion can just feel a little short for my liking, especially in a car that intends to be sporty. The Polestar 2 has it and it's a game changer for the sense of feeling fixed in your seat in a car with a high floor, so I'd like it here.
Not easy to get those into one video since we get our stuff announced after everyone else, but you can check out our videos on the XPeng G6, XPeng G9 (albeit it has been updated a bit since), Nio ET5, upcoming video on Nio ET7, Geely Panda Mini (some say it's coming to the UK), Leapmotor C10, LEVC L380, BYD Seagull might make it one day, BYD Song L might too, that's off the top of my head. Oh and Zeekr X.
I film my drone stuff where I won't get hassled and won't cause issues for others. That road is a godsend because it's a dual-carriageway pretty much to nowhere and very light on traffic most of the time.

Yeah but inside is Europe people like design and engineering.

Glad you think so. I'm not a fan of hype or hyperbole, that doesn't help people pick a car that works for them.
@ristekostadinov2820 I believe they did but not sure if they ever implemented it. Volvo I believe did limit their cars to 112mph.
I see Xiaomi is doing some racing, track testing with it.

I was indeed at Zeekr with all those guys. Will have a couple of videos from the trip coming soon. I'm wall-to-wall with work at the moment, too many videos and written reviews on the go, plus a 7-month old baby, so life is fun.
Good to hear from you again and enjoy the EV show!

Let's see.

It really is a sexy car, hard to take your eyes off it. Just enough unlike a Porsche to avoid being slapped with a copyright infringement .
I would buy that car no problem. Very nice motor!
Lovely car. Can't take your eyes off it.

Environmentally friendly leather means REAL LEATHER!
Was that a rainy day when filming?

I absolutely hate it when journos in the west (or at least, in Australia) call this "China's apple car" when apple doesnt even have a car.

Definitely some short cuts like the ones you mentioned. @@cloudpandarism2627 the production version of Ultra is going to have 3 motors 2 V8s and 1 V6sc same 1500+ hp, confirmed by their owner.
@@cfeifei1874 which owner?
Sad that it wont come to Europe. Really hope that they eventually come with some other cars or that they either sell the add-on button bar for other cars
I think it will come eventually, just not soon. It's too popular here and sold out.
@@runaway0713 Better to have demand than capacity, at least for the brand.
Lioking forward to driving the Samsung Galaxy 'Fast as Flip" with Smart Folding Roof and OLED windscreen
Kind of like that idea except the windscreen bit.
Has anyone ordered the car from Europe?
Can someone advise me on how and where to order the car to Sweden?
Would you be OK with a hefty tariff on top? I can help you with an exporter at this end if you have an importer at yours. I don't know anyone who has imported one yet, though honestly your biggest challenge right now is getting hold of one. This year's batch is sold out already.
bro😊The sound track on your videos is killing me❤❤❤❤❤Track id please 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
It's called 'Flow' by Loksii. You can find it on Pixabay.
@@InsideChinaAuto Thanks a million Bro 🙏🏼
when in Europe ?
Good question. Nothing revealed yet, and it's already sold out for this year in China.
@@InsideChinaAuto Thank's for reply, sold out in China this year. this is huge.
At what price is SU7 in China ?
@@danidante1 215,900 for the base version, 245,900 for the Pro, and 299,900 for the Max.
Great looking car. Shame it's going to be so costly in Euro land with the proposed import duties on Chinese cars.
Indeed, if and when it ever gets there.
This car is amazing. All Apple had to do was go with the Sony car SMH.
Imagine Sony and Apple teaming up? That could be chaos.
Pls advise on export and price value. Great China. TNR
Best to check Xiaomi's site for the latest prices in case they've changed, but good luck getting one anytime soon, these things are sold out until past the end of the year. If you're really interested, email me and I can get somebody i know to help out.
i take a shot each time he says Porsche
How's your head this morning?
I am very hyped to see this in Europe, but why? Why can't they so something easy and without having to navigate the touch screen to operate windows? Very big mistake not allowing regen braking to take the car to full stop.
Actually the windows can be controlled by switches on the door, and the regen can be selected to either stop or crawl, but the Chinese government are stopping the 'come to a stop' function on future cars for some reason.
@@InsideChinaAuto I need to watch the video again about those windows. hahaha Yes, I understood that about the chinese government.
The wipers are very playful❤😂
As they should be in the rain
Please could you do a video on Chinese cars coming to UK 🇬🇧. I’m so jealous
Efficiency is mostly about the driving style, people use almost full battery in 2 laps of Nurburgring. 2 laps!
Indeed, and hills don't help. Nurburgring has plenty of those
Got to say the design and detail throughout this car is seriously impressive!
You should see the other cars on the channel.
Amazing car!
It really is.
Why are there no other cars on the road?
I film my drone stuff where I won't get hassled and won't cause issues for others. That road is a godsend because it's a dual-carriageway pretty much to nowhere and very light on traffic most of the time.
Rear end definitely has a hint of Aston Martin.
Interesting take. I can just about see it.
@@InsideChinaAuto I think the lights have a hint of DB11/DB12, Beautiful looking car at a price normal people can afford, that's if the UK allow it in the country and don't load it up with import tax.
@stevemarshall3481 They'd be wise to not do they if they want to reach their climate goals. Should encourage these guys to build in the UK too since there's not much of our own industry left. Call it a Brexit dividend.
Certainly gonna keep an eye on this one, Asian EV's do interest me, more interesting than the drab European or American market vehicles, an open market and a £20k to £25k price range would certainly scare a few big named manufacturers.
I saw a green su7 max yesterday 😃😃😃😭
Im so lucky wow
I like the green. Matches half my outfits.
Matches my Xiaomi Mi 10 in Metallic Green
The design team for this car be like: We have Porsche Taycan at home
Definitely heavy similarities.
If you're going to up in flames, might as well be in style.....
Well then your best bet would be a Range Rover. They catch fire if you look at them the wrong way.
Domt understand how anyone can put there family in a ev from China the amount of videos and stories iv seen is frightening death traps
@KierinHale I don't understand how somebody can go through 11 years of education and still not know which there/their/they're is the right one to use in a sentence.

Porsche? What Porsche? This one [SU7] here is where the future is at.
Would seem so, though there'll always be a place on my driveway for a 911.

How much is it ?
starting from 200,000 RMB , approximately 30,769.23 USD
