I’ve been searching for the best street food in China for a long time, and have to say that when it comes to Chinese street food, some is good, some is bad, but in Xinjiang, most of the stuff we tried was fantastic! The meat and the sloppy dumplings were out of this world! You’ll fall in love watching the delicious street food in this street food video, because we came specifically to try the best street food in China, as we make our way west along the Silk Road to the farthest part of western China. Coming here is a whole new world of Chinese cuisine. Eating Chinese food in Xinjiang is definitely one of the best street food experiences I’ve had!

We made our way to Kuqa from Chengdu. We first took the train to Xining and enjoyed the Hui Chinese muslim Chinese street food and then took the train to Turpan and onwards to Kuqa, our final destination being Kashgar. The dishes we have been eating so far really reminds me of central asian street food. From the super flavor packed hand pulled noodles, to the roast deep tandoori baozi, it’s a great destination for food.
So far I’ve eaten street food in Chengdu, street food in Hong Kong, street food in Guangzhou, Street food in Shanghai, and street food all around Asia, but something as simple as the street food here in Xinjiang (Kuqa) really impressed me!
All the street food we tried, in particular the hand pulled noodles, which tasted like spaghetti, was fantastic! Even the bbq kebabs were amazing as well. The locals here speak Uighur and a little Chinese, so I got by communicating with them in Chinese, but would be better if I picked up some Uighur. Overall, our experience eating in Kuqa, Xinjiang was amazing!
Here are the locations in this street food video:
    1) Roast Tandoori Nang Bread -
    2) Sunday Market (Featuring Hand pulled noodles, pumpkin baozi, and roast tandoori baozi)-
    3) Huge meat nirvana feast -

HUGE THANKS to ExpressVPN for offering all Food Ranger viewers 3 months free and 49% off their yearly package using this link: ExpressVPN.com/Thefoodranger . Travelers need ExpressVPN to stay safe online and to unblock any site. I personally use it for Netflix, even while at home in Canada, but also while traveling to unblock content and episodes that are geoblocked, and I also use it for security, because airport wifi and hotel wifi is often very insecure, leaving my data vulnerable. By connecting to one of their servers around the world, it’s just like my computer or phone is in that location, and all data sent while connected to their VPN is secure, safe, and private from others to see, so I know that my data won’t be hacked or looked at by others. Thanks so much for watching, and we have tons more videos coming up for you! Please leave me a comment below letting me know what you thought about this episode, thanks so much!!!

GodsCommand you dont seem to understand the concept of Chinese. to you, the only Chinese are the han chinese. unfortunately, i met many han nationalists that think that way. it is wrong and incorrect. even among han chinese, there are many subgroups. when I first started to study about china, i thought any group that use hanzi as their script, were han Chinese. however, some ethnic minorities in yunnan also use hanzi as their writing scripts, but their languages more burmese-tibetan than sino-tibetan.

You need to understand that China, being such an enormous country (Bordering Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam) is culturally diverse, home to 56 different ethnic groups. Out of all these 56-strong people, 10 have a faith in Islam.

Uyghur who are Karluk Turks. Related to other Turkic people and that include Uzbek who they are similar with, they interbreed with an indo-European group in ancient times which is why many Uyghur look exotic. China has 56 ethnic groups including the main Han. Each have their own languages and cultures. Han is the largest group in China, follow by the Zhaung.

China is amazing for this fact! I only eat chicken, lamb, fish (and pork - though I believe this region doesn't eat pork). My DNA says I have some percentage of Western & Central Asia, Caucasus and mainly East Asia and my family is Hakka - we were never told about Bhuddism but we are Catholics. Congrats to China though for its diversity!! Awesome!

There's no overhead when you run a little tent shack with nothing else in the in the middle of nowhere compared to a high rent metropolitan area with all of the utilities, advertising, salaries, and cost of living for competitive wages for workers, that you need to pay out to stay in business.
Don't forget also, add in the cost of airfare and hotels and travel to get to that $2 bowl of noodles and you will see maybe $12 for a bowl of ramen in NYC isn't too bad now that the China noodles are $2,002.

백두산 - His ratings and comments and analysis don't help me any because I can't go there to eat it for myself... So it really makes no difference if he hates it and gives it a 1 or loves it and gives it a 10. I do love watching the cooking part and the interactions... But I am dying of food jealousy. I wish I could travel and eat all of the different things all day.
