Why am I crying?😭 I just want Chellsie to have the fairy tale ending she deserves now that the Karolyis are gone. I am so invested now. Rooting for your comeback!!!!
@@queendeche4555 She did go to Beijing in 2008, but she broke her ankle & could only compete on bars instead of doing more events like she originally planned. She also fell on bars qualifications, which she had a chance to knock out Nastia from bar finals since Nastia fell on her dismount
Perhaps postponing the Olympics a year will give Chellsie the opportunity to either make the team or end her career on the high note that it so clearly deserves. Instead of having an old hag like Marta end it for her like in 2012, despite Chellsie having amazing accomplishments for USA.
Chellsie is a prodigy at this sport. Love it. She’s a visual learner like I am. I have to see it and then do it. She’s an inspiration to many! Rock it!
Watching Chellsie in this comeback journey has just made me so happy. I'm 35, so I'm a fan from back in the day. I truly hope she gets everything out of this she wants, and shows girls/women that you can still do what you love as an adult. There is no age limit on gymnastics, and female gymnasts shouldn't be made to feel that their prime is in their teens and everything after that is meaningless. Also, I still live for the vault that shut Tim Daggett up. One of the best moments in gymnastics I've seen. Lol
Thank you for sharing your Dad's insight with us. I agree with him 100%: every time I watch your most recent week of training, I am blown away by how effortless you make everything look. And I was excited to hear that you have an idea for a new uneven bars routine, even after sharing your hesitation just a few weeks ago. You are such an amazingly gifted athlete and I would LOVE to see you back on bars, but I understand that these things take time. I think that many would agree that what you've accomplished thus far is beyond extraordinary and that you're an ICON, giving hope and inspiration to anyone who has ever told themselves, "It's too late". Keep up the amazing work!
Over the past week or so when I bumped into your channel, I have found myself watching all your past videos and amazed by how talented you HAVE ALWAYS BEEN. Your worth ethic is absolutely mesmerising. I’m not even joking, but this come back ( in whatever capacity) has been one of the best things to happen this year thus far. Thank you so much for inspiring us to keep going. You are doing a lot more than gymnastics by posting these videos. More than you will ever know. Keep going. The sky is the limit ..
I believe the strong technique Chellsie demonstrated during her first trip through elite level gymnastics, is a HUGE part of why this journey has come so far so fast, and easier than anyone estimated. Much of that is on YOU, Papa Memmel! 🙂
As a mother of a gymnast and a gymnastics coach and judge I am so in love with this. My gymnast daughter is now a grandmother so I understand how fun this would be! Good luck to all of you!
Awesome dad and (potential?) coach! Chellsie is extremely gifted, and if she returned to the competitive scene her story and living example would inspire so many.
Love! That would be amazing for your kids to see you compete at what you did when you were a kid/ teen. The fact that it’s even a discussion is pretty cool.
After hearing the negativity surrounding some gymnastics coaches, it seems that Chellsie and Andy have a great healthy relationship!!! I'm so excited for Chellsie's comeback! she looks stronger than ever!!
This was so cool!! Loved hearing the coach/dad perspective. It doesn’t matter to me if she competes again or just continues these training videos. Either way, it’s always an honor to watch Chelsea do gymnastics. I’m so glad we get to see all the steps along this journey no matter where it leads her. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us. The kids are the cutest watching her and just can’t say enough what an honor it is to be able to have a peek at it all!! 🤸♀️♥️🥇
This is so awesome!! I love the relationship they have and hearing his insights into how she does gymnastics and the respect he has for her is so great! :) this has quickly become one of my favorite channels! GO CHELLSIE!!
absolutely blown away by this. Support it fully, but I could NOT imagine getting back into the gym after kids. So much changes with your body after that, I'm so freaking amazed.
Obviously Chellsie is prodigiously talented but watching her is teaching me so much about grit. She's got passion and perseverance toward long term goals. No matter where this leads it is so so exciting. There are so many inspired souls out there gaining grit of their own from watching Chellsie's journey.
I love this. Also, I love your dad explaining how people feel where they are at in the air. I tumbled with my eyes closed and never realized most people don't. It was a feeling for me always
oh my gosh, didn't think I'd get teary today. I love this. It really has been amazing to see you start to train again, regardless of if it's for elite gymnastics or just personal pride. I would love nothing more than to see you crush another elite competition... if not 2021 Tokyo, maybe 2021 Worlds?? :)
I was a highly visual gymnast too (level 10 before I got injured). Now I’m an architect! Chelsea, I was rooting for you when I was 13 and I’m still rooting for you at 30. Rock on!!!
I really like the videos you upload. It shows the significant amount of thinking, emotion and hard work that goes into the creation of the routine. It also allows us to progressively accompany you on your comeback journey. But most importantly, I think gives young girls a great role model to look up to!
Even if she doesn’t make it to Tokyo, she could still compete in classics, championships, various international assignments & still be a rockstar. Maybe even a worlds 😏 It would be amazing to watch her go out there & compete for HERSELF. Imagine how excited her kids would be watching her! ❤️ Can’t wait to see where this journey takes you.
I have been waiting so long for this video! Love hearing his perspective. I can't imagine how hard it is to walk the dad/coach line but he seems to do it just fine! When you were still competing, did those lines every get blurred?
It was sooo great to see and hear your Dad again!! I loved listening to his thoughts and perspective. You're an incredible athlete, and the fiercest competitor I've ever watched. No doubt in my mind that you can take this journey wherever you want!!❤️❤️ Much love from Canada!!😊👊💪👍
LOve this! I was wondering if your dad had been a gymnast (can someone coach without ever doing it?) and now got to hear from his own mouth. Also an interesting insight into how you process learning skills. I hope your kids get to see you compete too, but having them watch you in the gym right now has to be amazing for them.
Honestly don't care about Chellsie making the Olympic team next year-- I'd LOVE to see it but the USA is so deep that it is literally a tossup... All I want is to get to see her compete again, even if it is only at Classics/Championships. (OR the 2021 worlds team which presumably not that many people will be eyeing 👀)
I’ve heard other references to gymnasts getting “in shape”. Is this a nice way of talking about weight or does it also involve stamina and strength? It seems to me that all 3 would be critical
Andy/Chellsie, I gave a gymnast who us crazy still on her shoulders and back. I need her to get a Back Walk Over before her Back Handspring Do you guys have 50 different drills for me to do with her?? Please please
Great perspective! Funny how he’s had to teach you skills when you learn visually as opposed to the way he and other students have learned. I guess that’s why you’re a champion though!
If she were to decide to compete, what is the process like to get back to the elite level? We all know she has the skills, but you can't just waltz in and decide to compete.
Hey Chellsie, really glad to be able to watch your journey, and sorry about the hamstring. I'm wondering if you've tried any nerve flossing? Sometimes pain can present as muscular and actually be an entrapped nerve which can often be quite treatable. Here are some exercises to try just in case that's what is going on: th-cam.com/video/zzcncRdkHno/w-d-xo.html
your fave: boring, predictable, falls off beam Chellsie: still looks like she could walk onto an Olympic team, fully eight years after her last elite meet
I really hope people don't forget, she is a WORLD ALL-AROUND CHAMPION. She was literally the best in the world at one point. A true freak athlete.
And a world champion on uneven bars. She’s unbelievable.
Chellsie is such a legend and I’m glad to hear her dad’s perspective!!!
Thank you
Whether she ever competes again or not, it’s a treat to see Chelsies return to gymnastics.
Why am I crying?😭 I just want Chellsie to have the fairy tale ending she deserves now that the Karolyis are gone. I am so invested now. Rooting for your comeback!!!!

XtinaP123 100% AGREE!!!!! SCREW THE KAROLYI’S!!!!!!
Who says her career has to end??? Look at Oksana Chusovitina still going strong. This is a rebirth for Chellsie and I love it.
Don’t forget there’s also a worlds next year!
@@katk5462 there is?? I thought it would be moved because of the Olympics
Andrea Velasquez yes Fig is still planning on having worlds next year although the host country just pulled out on the plans
At this point if she doesnt make the 2021 team imma be real mad. Im too INVESTED NOW.
YESSSS
Biles, Memmel, Lee, Hurd. Carey as a specialist. This is all I want.
Jamie Fung yup!
Don’t forget about worlds
She's got a lot of experience under her belt

But even better!! :)
This made me cry! Love Chellsie and Andy!
I got emotional watching it, I wasn't near them when they did the interview so it was new to me!
After hearing the negativity surrounding some gymnastics coaches, it seems that Chellsie and Andy have a great healthy relationship!!! I'm so excited for Chellsie's comeback! she looks stronger than ever!!

Chellsie looks like she grew a little taller since 2008, and it doesn't seem to affect her at all.
I never opened my eyes when I did gymnastics. it's too scary and I already had the muscle memory in it.
