As a former gymnast with a shoulder injury similar to Chellsie, it's insightful to see the shoulder strength she has. I am slowly starting my fitness journey. Trying pull-ups was a disaster because even doing a dead hang on a bar hurt. I am going to back off on that idea and work with resistance band training first. Wish I was in Wisconsin for adult gymnastics class!!!

Since so much of gymnastics conditioning is body-weight it's easy to do it with minimal to no equipment. A lot of the stuff in the Chellsie Challenges can be adapted to do around the house (and get creative! Soup cans or jugs of water can be used instead of weights, paper plates can take the place of sliders, etc.)
You are amazing and so inspiring! I'm not a gymnast but still a former athlete and not only do I look forward to your videos every week but you are inspiring me to get back into shape for my sport too. I'm also 32 btw lol Love what you're doing; keep it up!
Great episode as usual! At my gym we push "sleds" with weight on them up and down green carpet...one way we push high, on the way back we push bent over low...i love/hate it ...lol. I absolutely hate it while I'm doing it, but definitely feel good physically, and feel like I accomplished something after!

Im a climber and I always thought that gymnastic girls must be like the perfect climbers. They have the perfect body shape for that thing. And they dont carrying around any extra weight.
Reverse presses helped me a lot, so start in a handstand and slowly lower down. Also isolating straddle holds on the floor (the beginning of a press), and straddle holds against a wall (halfway up).
Oh my goodness, I seen the CMU flag in a different video! I didnt realize Skyler Memmel is your sister! She was awesome on the beam for the Chips!! FIRE UP CHIPS! I am a 2008 Alumni but I always try to hit at least one competition for each sport but I never made the connection!

I would love to hear more about your coaching style! How do you handle kids with more anxiety or if a kid has a hard/off day and you can tell it’s some external situation? What if there is an injury-we all know some coaches aren’t great about putting safety/heath first 😬 Of course your girls look so happy when training with you!

Produnovas have been downgraded to stop people from trying them because they’re so dangerous and literally no one can land them safely (even produnova herself only landed it well 1 or 2 times) Even into the pit, It’s probably not a good use of time and energy when she could be perfecting her dty or practicing her amanar. If chellsie injures herself it’s pretty much endgame for her Olympic chance.
I would also love to see a video that shares a little of your momming and at home life (if the fam agrees), while balancing it all. Also, a question: what's the trick to a good press handstand?

Bummer! There is a lot you can do, going through your warm up and stretching. Lots of ab work, planks, handstands, squats etc!

We haven't had any issues as we don't do it everyday and not always in the same spots.
